Tell us a bit about yourself
Well, I’m Belle Harper. And I live in a little semi-rural town about an hour from Melbourne, Australia. I love mint chocolate, all types of office supplies. I’m married and have three children.

Have you always wanted to become an author?
Yes, for as long as I could remember I would be reading, making plays for my sisters to act in or just telling my parents made up stories and entertaining them. When I was 12, I told my parents I wanted to be an author and that stayed with me into my teens. But I never knew how to go about it, so the dream died and I went into aged care nursing. Which was a job I loved, but not my dream.

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?
My current series out is Brides of the Aashi. I just fell in love with Alien romance back in 2017 when I first read a Ruby Dixon book. And I slowly built my Alien world and all the worlds around them over about a six month period. It was a lot of fun, but I gave my Aliens a little twist, most books have Alpha males. And in the Aashi world they are not, it’s a female run world.

What are you working on now?
I’m currently working on a paranormal series. Book one is Twice Bitten and will be out March. (April the latest.) It is Young Adult/ New Adult. With Shifters and Vampires as her love interests.

Do you have any quirks while working?
Mmm… haha. I eat chocolate when im editing. Every chapter I edit I give myself 5 M&M’s. I have now started writing “The End” at the start of all my manuscripts. Then as I am typing I’m chasing the end. Because there is no better feeling than a finished book.

What are your hopes for the future?
I hope that readers still enjoy my books and I will continue to produce stories. I have great support from my husband and kids. I’m a full time author, and this is my dream job.
Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?
Join all the craft and author FB groups you can. Books, podcasts, YouTube videos. I go to the supermarket and listen to the Self publishing show every Friday. So its easy to learn new skills when there is so many authors sharing knowledge… I love learning.

Do you have anything to say to your followers?
My amazing readers and followers. I love you all. You always have your pom poms out when I am writing or when I release a new book. I wouldn’t be here without you all, so thank you all for taking a chance on me. It keeps me going, and wanting to better myself as a writer.
