Mimi wakes to complete confusion. Her memories are vague at best, horrifyingly stark for the most part. Where is she? What happened to her? Most importantly, why do her memories feel like they are not entirely her own? Will trusting the man who claims he wants to help lead her to the path of truth? Or will her vulnerability and trust be her downfall?
“A little bit about me …. That always is a tough one, because it’s hard to pin myself down to one essence. I’m an author, a finance clerk, a wife, a catmom, a SCAdian, a sewist, a costumer, an embroiderer, a hobbyist rapier fighter, a painter, a graphic designer, a friend, a nerd, a geek, a gamer, an introvert, and so much more. I’m shy, funny, sarcastic, smart, loving, scared, confident, ditzy, scatterbrained, forgetful–sometimes ALL AT ONCE. It’s a real trip living inside my head, but I don’t think I’d want to be anyone else. I’m constantly changing and evolving, and that is such a cool thing about the human experience.
Have you always wanted to become an author?
Not always. I’ve always loved stories, though, and have always had a rich fantasy world existing within me. I started writing with poetry and short stories in high school, and in the “olden days” of MySpace I would use that poetry as a way to work out some tough emotions I was going through. Now, though, I mostly write steamy paranormal reverse harem romance, with some M/F romance and poly sci-fi romance thrown in. I don’t know what Freud would say about that! Haha
What was your inspiration for your current book/series?
I am really digging the monster romance vibe that’s prevalent these days. I LOVE the concept of “monstrous” beings that end up getting the girl. It’s a modern-day “ugly duckling” story, but instead of changing into a swan, the monsters get accepted just as they are. It’s beautiful.
What are you working on now? Do you have any quirks while working?
As I mentioned above, I’m currently working on a monster romance. I have this fictional town I’ve created called Nowhere, North Carolina. (Funny story: There’s another author who has a series set in a fake town of the same name, same state—but we wrote them independently of each other, and I wouldn’t even have known if not for the fact that she won one of my ebooks in a Facebook giveaway, and I just happened to look up one of her books and see the similarity.) In Nowhere, there are hundreds of ley lines running through the town, which attract some strange beings and cause some major weirdness. This most recent story follows a girl who bumps into three “monsters” at a bank, where they get mistaken for robbers. Calamity ensues, and she gets kidnapped by them. She learns that there’s more than meets the eye to these guys, however, and comes to love each of them despite their monstrous appearances.
What are your hopes for the future?
Ideally, I’d love to be able to quit the day job someday in favor of writing full-time. It’s a tough biz, though, and not every indie author is able to make that leap. I’m super happy for those who have broken through and found their calling, and some day I hope that I can join their ranks.
Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?
It’s going to be tough. If you’re not a marketing genius, you’re going to have a tough time of it … but don’t give up! If I’d given up when my first book didn’t hit the big time (or the second, or the third…), I never would have made the progress that I’ve made or met the friends I’ve come to love talking with. Not every book has to be a best-seller straight off the press, and not every book will. Very few books will, but that’s not the point. The point is to do what you love, write what you love, and find your tribe.
Do you have anything to say to your followers?
Y’all have no idea just how much I truly appreciate each and every one of you. Every like or share, every preorder, every page read, every single bit of support is met with undying gratitude. I couldn’t continue doing what I love without all of you.
Two of my men have been captured. The rest of us are barely holding on.
We’re wanted, and our army stands no chance against the swarm of mind-controlled pawns. Failure is not an option. Abandoning my husbands is not an option. But the longer we take to plan, the closer we get to losing them.
Even worse, our companion gods are no help. Horus can’t see them. Freyja can’t heal them. And Hades can only tell me they’re not dead yet.
We have everything to lose, and no options left. Jandro, Gunner, and I must do this ourselves.
The Sha will answer for taking my men from me. For driving us from our home. For killing and torturing those I’ve claimed as family.
And I will be merciless.
TW: violence, torture. Please see the full warning at the beginning of the book if you are sensitive to triggering content.
Sons of Anarchy meets The Handmaid’s Tale in this dystopian reverse harem adventure! Merciless is the ninth and final book in the Steel Demons MC saga. This series is full of kindle-melting steam and dangerous men who take what they want. Proceed with caution if easily offended.
C.C. is originally from Baltimore, Maryland and has actively written fiction since the age of eleven. She’s an avid “chick lit” reader and urban fantasy fan. During her days, she works in Civil Rights for the federal government. In her free time, she sings karaoke, travels the globe and watches too much TV… when she’s not writing of course.
Have you always wanted to become an author?
I started writing when I was around eleven years old. I wrote a short play in my english class that my classmates put on and did some other short stories as assignments. My english teacher, Ms. Weber, told me I was good and to keep writing and I have!
What was your inspiration for your current book/series?
I’m a huge anime, horror and k drama fan so they allow me to think outside of the box because of the unique, non-Western storytelling. I also am a daydreamer, people watcher and avid traveler so the combination is always giving me ideas, with new settings and scenarios popping up in my head.
What are you working on now?
I’m currently a little over mid way through my sequel to my novella, Mystic Realms, in which we again focus on my character Lisa who is forced to save an elven king from a curse or else she’ll have to repay a sinister favor to him. It’s heavy paranormal romance compared to most of my other work.
Do you have any quirks while working?
Not sure I have any quirks. I have eclectic taste in music so that really helps me get into the zone. If I’m writing a fight scene I might play old school hip hop or rock. If it’s a romance scene then I’m playing something slow and emotional. Some songs inspire scenes in my head so I have a play list of different songs that I found inspirational while writing. .
What are your hopes for the future?
Well the hope is always that you build an audience that appreciates your work. My goal is to entertain and reach readers that were underserved or just wanted new points of view.
Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?
Keep writing. That’s the biggest thing. Especially for indie authors. A lot of our success can come from building a brand which comes from having several books published. This way you give readers something to come back to. Also writing that first draft is tough but don’t stop. Even if you know you’ll change something, just make note of it to go back to later and keep moving forward in the story. Once the first draft is done I think it gets easier and more rewarding.
Do you have anything to say to your followers?
I’d love to say, thanks so much for reading! It’s really the readers that keep me going. I get encouraged by reviews and pushed to write even better. I don’t just write for myself but for the audience and I want to ensure that the hours they spend reading or listening to my books is worth it for them. So please keep reviewing and supporting and I will do my part to bring you reading entertainment that you can enjoy!
Not always. I used to want to be an archaeologist, but when I was in highschool, I started editing for the school newspaper, and then dabbled in fanfiction. Eventually I figured out that writing is what I loved to do.
What was your inspiration for your current book/series?
My inspiration for Noc City was a mixture of things. I love everything about vampires and have consumed every type of vampire media out there, but I’m also a fan of dystopian future settings. I sort of mixed the two and created a new reality to do what I wanted with it. l also love the dark, gritty subject matter. My MC has faced abuse, fear and uncertainty in her life that I am intimately familiar with, and it felt cathartic to get it down on paper, so to speak.
What are you working on now?
I am working on book #3 of the Noc City series, Hybrid Theory, releasing in June.
Do you have any quirks while working?
I always have to sit with my feet up on something, and I have to have a candle burning.
What are your hopes for the future?
I really want a best seller, or to sell steadily enough to convert my husband into a stay-at-home husband 🙂 But if that fails, I really want to eventually write a series that’s over 5 books long in the same universe. A big epic fantasy.
Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?
Don’t let the haters get you down, and for the love of all that is holy don’t get sucked into drama. It’s not worth it. You won’t be perfect at first, so don’t expect too much of yourself. Part of becoming a writer is learning from your past self. We are always looking for ways to perfect our craft and better ourselves. Mostly, have fun with it and write what truly makes you happy.
Do you have anything to say to your followers?
I want to say thank you all for being here with me on this journey. You will never know just how much you’ve helped me through some of the hardest years of my life. This community is a beautiful family, and even though we are all far apart, each and every one of you I consider to be my very best friends.
(Short) Kahaula is the Hawaiian Goddess of Sexual Dreams. I use Her name as my pen name out of devotion and respect to Her. I write Why Choose/Reverse Harem exclusively, but in many genres, like Paranormal, Sci-Fi, Apocalytic, Alt-History, and so much more.
(Long) A little bit about me! Kahaula is the Hawaiian Goddess of sexual dreams. Different people view Her and Her presence in different ways. I chose to use Kahaula as a pen name out of respect, and as a devotional to Her. I hope that my readers may also be inspired by Her.
I am a Hawaiian woman with a voracious appetite for reading and found it challenging to find stories with which I could connect. Instead of complaining, I opted to start writing my own stories. Most of my stories are romance novels simply because I believe real adult connections should happen organically, just like they do in real life, instead of silly euphemisms or fade to black nonsense. I believe my stories are made better by being honest and open about what my characters want or don’t want. I also firmly believe that story comes first, pun intended. I write in many genres: urban fantasy, paranormal, sci-fi, alt-history, post-Apocalyptic, combinations of those and more.
Have you always wanted to become an author?
I’ve always been writing, even from when I was little I had an affinity for words and story telling. I haven’t wanted to become an author until very recently and only because I felt I could do it justice. Being an author is a serious commitment and I intend to honour that choice.
What was your inspiration for your current book/series?
My dreams are where I get 99% of my stories. Very rarely am I inspired in a different way.
What are you working on now?
Lots! I write Why Choose/Reverse Harem Romance exclusively but I love branching in to different genres. Battle Queen is my first Sci-Fi Aliens book but I have another Sci-Fi Wolf Shifters set in an alt-Roman History story. I have a few Paranormal/Urban Fantasy books coming out this year as well as a Hawaiian Contemporary in August.
Do you have any quirks while working?
Absolutely. I’m a disabled chronic pain patient so I have a lot of requirements to help me sit and type without causing more problems. I’ve found a lot of different ways to be capable or at least persistent. Needless to say I’ve learned a lot about setting up a proper writing space!
What are you hopes for the future?
My hope is to make this into a paying career while maintaining a set of ethics and standards about the quality of my work. As far as I know, I am the only Hawaiian Why Choose/Reverse Harem author out there. I started writing because I wanted to see more stories that I wish I could have read. I want to be an example that what makes each culture unique is worth celebrating—and can be a viable source of income.
Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?
Just. Do. It. Already. Yes, becoming an author is a serious commitment with a steep learning curve. However, how well you do as an indie author is directly proportional to how smart and how hard you work—YOU control your future. Take it easy on yourself, forgive yourself, but always PUSH yourself.
Do you have anything to say to your followers?
Mahalo Nui Loa! Thank you so very VERY much! You keep me honest.
I once did everything in my power to save lives. Now I stand aside and watch men die.
The man I love must kill one of his own. Someone he considered a brother, a fellow Steel Demon, put the entire club in danger. As president, Reaper must crush every last threat to his people, or the Steel Demons MC could cease to exist altogether.
Reaper is ruthless. His justice is punishing. But despite his name, he takes no pleasure in executing someone he once trusted. The task is weighing on him. That’s why he needs me.
But he’s not the only one.
The vice president with the seductive charm needs me. The silent soldier with terrifying nightmares needs me. And the sweet, golden man with the falcon on his shoulder? It scares me how much I need him.
All of these men have killed without hesitation. They all battle demons I can’t begin to fathom. In my journey to combat violence with healing, I found my home with men just as cruel as they are loving.
Can I be fearless enough to love them all?
Sons of Anarchy meets The Handmaid’s Tale in this dystopian reverse harem adventure! Fearless is the third book in the Steel Demons MC saga. This series is full of kindle-melting steam and dangerous men who take what they want. Proceed with caution if easily offended.
After I was betrayed and left for dead in the sands of the wasteland, I found a new home—a sanctuary of lost souls like me. With the help of others, I rebuilt myself until I was stronger than before, but when word comes that my old home, Paradise, has fallen, I have a choice to make.
Leave my new home, my new life and friends, and ride to the rescue of the very people who betrayed me…or stay?
The decision isn’t an easy one, but three men will stand by my side either way. It seems fate has its eyes on me and when my past, present, and future collide, will I be left heartbroken or will they reassemble the damaged, tattered pieces of me?
Three men, one I loved as child, one as teenager, and the other as a woman…the question is, can I still love them all? Is my heart big enough?
But this isn’t just a love story, oh no. This is a tale of revenge and queens.
When the bloodshed and death arrive and war erupts, who will remain beside me?
*18+ Reverse Harem Romance. Warning this book contains scenes and references of abuse/assault that some readers may find triggering. Along with graphic sex scenes and violence*
Well, I’m Belle Harper. And I live in a little semi-rural town about an hour from Melbourne, Australia. I love mint chocolate, all types of office supplies. I’m married and have three children.
Have you always wanted to become an author?
Yes, for as long as I could remember I would be reading, making plays for my sisters to act in or just telling my parents made up stories and entertaining them. When I was 12, I told my parents I wanted to be an author and that stayed with me into my teens. But I never knew how to go about it, so the dream died and I went into aged care nursing. Which was a job I loved, but not my dream.
What was your inspiration for your current book/series?
My current series out is Brides of the Aashi. I just fell in love with Alien romance back in 2017 when I first read a Ruby Dixon book. And I slowly built my Alien world and all the worlds around them over about a six month period. It was a lot of fun, but I gave my Aliens a little twist, most books have Alpha males. And in the Aashi world they are not, it’s a female run world.
What are you working on now?
I’m currently working on a paranormal series. Book one is Twice Bitten and will be out March. (April the latest.) It is Young Adult/ New Adult. With Shifters and Vampires as her love interests.
Do you have any quirks while working?
Mmm… haha. I eat chocolate when im editing. Every chapter I edit I give myself 5 M&M’s. I have now started writing “The End” at the start of all my manuscripts. Then as I am typing I’m chasing the end. Because there is no better feeling than a finished book.
What are your hopes for the future?
I hope that readers still enjoy my books and I will continue to produce stories. I have great support from my husband and kids. I’m a full time author, and this is my dream job.
Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?
Join all the craft and author FB groups you can. Books, podcasts, YouTube videos. I go to the supermarket and listen to the Self publishing show every Friday. So its easy to learn new skills when there is so many authors sharing knowledge… I love learning.
Do you have anything to say to your followers?
My amazing readers and followers. I love you all. You always have your pom poms out when I am writing or when I release a new book. I wouldn’t be here without you all, so thank you all for taking a chance on me. It keeps me going, and wanting to better myself as a writer.
I’m British and I live in a small town in the South West of England. I have a fabulous hubby, two amazing girls, and a black cat that thinks he’s a panther.
Have you always wanted to become an author?
The short answer is yes. Ever since I can remember I’ve loved books and stories. But it was something that wasn’t encouraged and I honestly never thought I’d be able to call myself an author. I still pinch myself to make sure I’m not dreaming.
What was your inspiration for your current book/series?
The inspiration for my Freedom Series is deeply personal for me. Matty is a girl who has grown up believing she’s bad and less than everyone around her because she’d unable to live by the rules surrounding her. It’s set in a post apocalyptic commune and is based heavily on my experiences growing up in a cult and overcoming cognitive dissonance.( Something that occurs when someone with deeply entrenched, indoctrinated, beliefs is faced with an indisputable truth that is opposite to the belief currently held. It’s a form of denial, but much stronger and causes a lot of distress and anxiety.)
What are you working on now?
I’m working on Liberty, the second book in the Freedom Series (Due February 29th) And I’m also plotting out a new series, The Barmecide Society.
Do you have any quirks while writing?
Not a quirk really, but I prefer to write the first draft long hand in a notebook. And I have to have a certain pen and paper. So yes, a but odd, I guess. lol.
What are your hopes for the future?
That my family will be safe and happy and I that I can continue to write the stories that people like to read.
Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?
Write what you love. Write what you want to read.
Do you have anything to say to your readers?
Thank you so much for taking the plunge and reading my stories. I’d still be dreaming of publishing if it weren’t for you.
