Author K. Margaret #interview

Please give a warm welcome to

Tell us a bit about yourself.

My name is K. Margaret and I write dark fantasy, paranormal romance, and reverse harem. I have a love for all things demons and I’m pretty sure if anyone is tracking my search history on my computer they are worried about my sanity. Other than my love of writing, I have two obsessions in my life; coffee and football. The one day of the week I refuse to write is Sundays because football is on.

Have you always wanted to become an author?

I didn’t. Growing up I wanted to build houses. It wasn’t until I was in my early twenties that I discovered my love for storytelling. It didn’t even start off as writing, my best friend and I would sit late at night, drinking coffee and make-up stories. One day I decided to start putting them down on paper and realized I wanted to do more than just tell them, I wanted to create more worlds and more voices and share them with people who would love the worlds as much as I did.

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

I’m currently working on two series right now. The one I write with my co-author, Dagmar Avery, was inspired by our love for unusual places rich with history, and legends and stories of the fae. We love being able to take well known places and legends and create a new story for them.

Dark Dreams, the series I am writing one my own, is inspired by my love for mythology and demons. I am a big lover of research, so when I start researching one idea, it will inspire a hundred others.

What are you working on now?

I’m currently working on book four, the final book of the Dank Court series, Queen of Monsters, with Dagmar Avery. As well as finishing up Lost Dreams, a novel that is part of my Dark Dreams series.

Do you have any quirks while writing?

I’m not sure if it is really a quirk, but I forget everything around me when I write. I forget to eat and drink. I get sucked in the writing vortex. Only thing that can pull me out is sound. I have to have complete quiet while writing.

°

What are your hopes for the future?

I hope to continue to do what I love and get to continue to share my crazy worlds and characters with my readers.

°

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

Not everyone has to love your writing, not everyone has to buy your books. If you touch one reader with your words, then it’s the best feeling in the world. Just believe in yourself and your voice.

Do you have anything to say to your fans?

Thank you. I seriously can’t even express how amazing it is to have people come up to me and tell me how much they have enjoyed something I’ve written. It’s a fan girl moment for me, because some days I still can’t believe there are people out there not actually related to me that want to read my stories. So, thank you. Thank you for reading, thank you for reviewing, thank you for taking a chance on me.
