Author Laura Greenwood #interview

Please give a warm welcome to author Laura Greenwood

Tell us a bit about yourself

Hi! Im Laura, a USA Today Bestselling Author of fantasy and paranormal romance (with a bit of contemporary thrown in too). When Im not writing, I love discovering new food with my partner, watching comedy shows, and eating French Macarons (when I can get them!) Not to be a stereotypical Brit or anything, but I also like to drink ridiculous amounts of tea.
Have you always wanted the become an author?

Ive always written, so I guess in a way, yes. But in other ways, definitely not. It wasnt until a couple of years ago that I realised just how much I wanted this (after Id already published a couple of books) and the dream became apparent.
What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

Thats a hard one – mostly because Im working on so many projects at once (both co-written and solo). Its probably better if I just answer in general…and that can be anything. Ive had a story inspired by a dream, a conversation, a photo, a premade cover, and mythology. Mythology is one of the big inspirations for me.
What are you working on now?

I hope youre ready for a list! I work on multiple projects at once, but normally have one main project for myself: Rule the Dark (Seven Wardens #7) with Skye MacKinnon, Fifth Flame (Renegade Dragons #3) with Arizona Tape, Moutain Shifters #2 with L.A. Boruff. And for myself, Daughter of the Sun (a Forgotten Gods story), Elf Blessed (Blessed #3) and Wake the Dead (The Necromancer Council #1). I like to keep things varied1
Do you have any quirks while writing?

I’ll talk to myself and to my characters outloud. Sometimes, I’ll pull facial expressions based on their emotions if theyre particularly strong (which can be kind of embarrassing when I get caught! As for quirks within my writing, I have a fondness for the reluctant/enemies to lovers tropes!
What are your hopes for the future?

For writing? That I get to keep doing it. Creating is a joy like no other and I couldnt imagine wanting to do anything else. More personally…the normal stuff. A house, a dog, a home office in the garden perfectly designed for my needs!

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

Just keep a it. If you make mistakes, own them and learn from them. Make the most of every opportunity thats given to you. There is so much to learn, and youre never going to stop finding out more!
Do you have anything to say to your fans?

Just one thing: thank you. None of my dream would be possible without your support. Whether thats reading every book, or just picking up one, or even simply commenting on a post. It all means so much.
