Author Erin Bedford #interview

Please give a warm welcome to

Tell us a bit about yourself

My name is Erin Bedford, I write paranormal romance and urban fantasy novels. Some of them are reverse harem style but most are not. I currently reside in Texas where I work full time as an author while taking care of my Blood Hound, Tracy and my four year old, Billie. When I’m not writing, I binge the latest paranormal or fantasy series on Netflix, play way more video games than I like to admit, and read everything I can get my hands on.

Have you always wanted to become an author?

Yes, I have. That being said, I didn’t exactly go down that path once I graduated high school. I wrote a lot in school and even won a few awards but I didn’t decide to persue writing seriously until my mid twenties when I was working as a computer programer. Almost four years later and I’m happier than a clam and can’t see myself ever going back.

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

I get a lot of my inspiration from the shows I watch, video games, music videos. You name it. House of Durand, my vampire reverse harem series, was inspired by one of my favorite animes Ouran Host Club.

What are you working on now?

Right now I’m working on several series. House of Durand, Academy of Witches, but what I’m really excited for is a brand new series coming this August called Children of the Fallen. Book one is called Death In Her Eyes. It follows Ellie, a fresh out of high school girl who has an unusual kind of morbid power. When she touches someone she can see how they die. Which makes things a bit tricky when it comes to friends and finding true love. Make sure to add it to your TBR on Goodreads!

Do you have any quirks while writing?

I don’t really have any quirks. Sometimes I listen to music and sometimes I binge watch Buffy in between writing sprints.

What are your hopes for the future?

Well, I think everyone has big aspirations for the future. Mine include a house by the beach and maybe a Netflix Original Series deal. 😉

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

Write what you love. Following the trends are great but if you aren’t writing what you love then you are going to get burned out and start to hate it. Nobody wants that.

Do you have anything to say to your readers?

Thank you, thank you so much for making this possible for me. I wouldn’t be where I am now if not for all of you. Reading my books, leaving reviews, and generally spreading the love. I can’t say how much I appreciate you all and hope I will keep living up to your expectations.
