Tell us a bit about yourself

°

One would think I would be good at this, talking about myself. Here is a little secret; I am not! I’m an introvert that lives more inside her head, than in real life. My characters have all the glory and adventures, so I have most of my fun through them. I love cooking and hiking, martial arts and painting. People usually think I’m a very serious person when they first meet me. It’s a running joke amongst my friends; I tell them “It’s the face, isn’t it?” and we laugh about it. I’m the queen of sarcasm, and sometimes say random things that freaks people out to see their reaction. It helps a lot when bringing characters to life; I’ll say that much  I do love interacting with my readers. I call them my people because they get me. Also, the most important thing, I am a coffee and chocolate addict.

°

°

Have you always wanted to become an author?

°

I’ve been writing since I could hold a pencil. Poetry was my first love. I received my first award when I was eight years old for a poem about bees on an international contest. It gave me enough reason to continue writing throughout my life. Did I specifically always wanted to be an author? I’m not sure. I can say that I always wanted to write. No matter where I was in life, or what was going on around me, that thing never changed. I kept writing like my life depended on it. I guess it did.

°

°

What are you working on now?

°

I’m working on the second book of the Hidden Portals trilogy, The First Secret. This trilogy is a different writing style than my usual, but I must say I’m enjoying it immensely.

°

Do you have any quirks while writing?

°

Don’t we all? I have a few of those. I never outline a story. Before I start writing it, I have no idea what I’m going to write. After I type in the title, the characters take over, and I sit in the back seat enjoying the ride. I also don’t have multiple drafts of my books. I sit and write until there is nothing left to say and then send it to my editor, for line editing. The stories come as a movie inside my head, so I only describe them. It feels almost as if I’m not the one coming up with it because the characters indeed take over and do whatever they feel like. Also, there is always a hidden meaning in most of the words I write.

°

°

What are your hopes for the future?

°

To keep writing. There are so many stories fighting for attention, and so many characters wanting to be heard that I don’t think I have any other option but to write. I will be grateful if readers enjoy the stories as much as I enjoy writing them.

°

°

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

°

It’s a brutal market, and it’s not easy. Writing the story might be the easy part. That being said, it’s also the most beautiful world all on its own, full of creative and talented people that will cross your path and make you realize there is no other place you rather be. Don’t be afraid of judgment. That’s the only thing stopping aspiring authors from publishing, or finishing their stories. People will judge you anyway. However, you will get that one review, telling you that you made someone smile, or cry, or be angry, and yell at the characters. And that will make it all worth it. Write! And, keep writing! You can only get better at it. The best advice given to me was “you can fix anything, but you cannot fix an empty page” Remember that and good luck!

°

Do you have anything to say to your readers?

°

Thank you! I’m not sure you know how much your reviews, messages, and comments mean to me. You are the reason I keep pushing myself harder every day, to give you the best stories I possibly can. I’m one of you first, an author second. So, reach out, even if it’s just to say hi. I love hearing from you!

°

I am a mother first and an author second. I love Starbucks and I hate hominy.

°

Have you always wanted to become an author?

°

Always. I used to have issues on how to get the story started.

°

°

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

°

I was just sitting outside thinking and the story started as just an idea for a character.

°

What are you working on now?

°

I have seven different books I’m working on.

°

Do you have any quirks while writing?

I blast music and drink coke.

Author Madeline Fay #interview

Please give a warm welcome to author Madeline Fay

A little bit about myself

I love long walks on the beach, bubble baths and of course sushi… Wait! My bad! Wrong interview. Ha ha all very true though.

Oh man. How does one describe themselves? Well, I help plan weddings as my day job and at night in the shadows I like to pretend I’m batman. I have an obsession with batman and cheese. I’m just a regular odd ball. I practically live in a zoo with my two dogs, three cats, four chickens, two ducks, and my husband who I love dearly. I try to find humor in everything. I like to think I’m a hippy at heart since I love everything seventies related, velvet and colors. Right on!

°

°

Did I always want to become an author?

Yes, in high school I wrote a lot of short stories. I didn’t dream that big when it came to my writing career. I put it all on the back burner because to be honest I didn’t think I was good enough to become an author. I switched through careers, trying to find that one thing that makes me happy. Bringing my characters to life brought me so much joy to have others step into the worlds I create. Best feeling ever.

°

°

Inspiration

I have always had a thing for the paranormal. If I could, I would start a paranormal investigation team and go ghost hunting. Reading other authors romance books, it clicked one day that I need to write something along the lines of dark yet still love-y dove-y. In came Eve, one of the main characters, she is strong and powerful. She can overcome any obstacle in her way, but still needs that one guy who will challenge and provide strength for her. Actually, the character John Wick was a lot of inspiration for Killian, another main character. Silent, moody, strong, and a bit on the dark side.

°

°

Working on right now

Currently working on book two of the Hell’s Apocalypse series, hopefully coming summer 2019. I have another side project of a college romance. Not revealing too much right now. Trying to write both books at the same time is a challenge but so rewarding. Also a RH Fairytale romance is in the works, it’s going to be amazing!

°

°

Quirks for writing

I have to have music playing when writing. Doesn’t matter what songs, from heavy metal to rap. All depends on the scene. Charlie Puth is a big involvement when writing, he sings through most of my chapters. I also need to have a relaxing environment, from my coffee shop in town to my home office with my sage and crystals. I’m all about the positive energy.

°

Future plans

Don’t plan but fly off the seat of my pants. One step at a time, but I hope to continue to write all different kinds of genre books.

°

°

To new authors

To all new authors out there… Keep writing. Never give up, never surrender. Write your freaking heart out even when you feel hopeless and doubt yourself. Your book will make a difference in someone’s life.

°

To my readers

To my wonderful readers: Without you, none of this would have happened. You bring me great joy when I read your reviews. You might be a fan but I’m a fan of yours too. Thank you so much!!

Please give a warm welcome to author Charity Parkerson

Tell us a bit about yourself

I’m Charity Parkerson and I’m best known for my MM romances. Over the last fourteen years, I’ve written over 200 books. It’s my addiction.

°

Have you always wanted to become an author?

I’ve always loved to write, but like most people, I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I just started writing one day and never stopped.

°

°

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

Since I’m currently working on the 15th book in my Sugar Daddies series, I honestly can’t recall what inspired me to write the first one.

°

What are you working on now?

I have two books going at the same time: Sugar Enforcer and Salty Baby.

°

°

Do you have any quirks while writing?

I like for it to be completely quiet. It’s possible I get distracted easily, lol.

°

What are your hopes for the future?

I’d love to see my books become a movie. That’s my dream.

°

°

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

This is a business. You have to treat it like one or you’ll easily get lost in the sea of books available. If you love writing, take it seriously.

°

Do you have anything to say to your readers?

I love you all SO much! You’re the reason I’m allowed to keep doing what I love every day. Thank you.

°

Tell us a bit about yourself

°

Thank you for inviting me today! I’m a full time author of steamy romance, and have been at it for ten years now, ever since I finished a creative writing course with Cardiff University. I still live in Wales and adore it, even though I’m not Welsh these lovely people have adopted me. I’ve been blessed with awards, claimed the #1 spot on Amazon lists numerous times, and hit the USA Today Bestseller list in December 2018. You can find out more about me (and grab a free ebook – HIRED, first in my HOT ICE series) on my website.

°

°

Have you always wanted to become an author?

°

It’s always been in the back of my mind though I had an 18 year career as a nurse first. I loved nursing, and many of my books have a medical slant to them because of my experiences.

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

°

I’m heavily into Vikings at the moment, simple really, I became obsessed with the TV show ‘Vikings’ and it grew from there.

°

What are you working on now?

°

I’m writing a spin-off novel from my popular reverse harem series THE CHALLENGE it’s titled THE BOYS and gives Harry, Evan, Raul, Mason and Lucas a chance to have their say about living in a harem. It’s set five years on from the end of BREAKAWAYS. You can grab book #1 CASTAWAYS for just 99c/99p. The
entire series is on KU.

°

Do you have any quirks while writing?

°

I need silence. Absolute silence. Even someone else breathing in the house it puts me off. Luckily I have a lot of alone time while Mr H is out at work.

°

What are your hopes for the futur?

°

To be able to keep writing…

°

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

°

Have a go at submitting to anthologies. It’s a great way to hone your skills with shorter stories and introduces you to other authors and readers. This is a great place to find calls for subs – Erotica Readers.

Lily Harlem – All Things Menage and Reverse Harem

Author Tyranni Thomas #interview

Please give a warm welcome to author Tyranni Thomas

°

°

A little about me…

I’m terrible at talking about myself. I’m Tyranni Thomas in the literary world. I started out writing Historical Fiction and now I write High Fantasy Historical RH. I was a history major once upon a time and I’m still kind of obsessed. Vikings and Game of Thrones are my tv fandoms. Their Vampire Queen and Four Psychos are my current RH addictions. I may or may not refer to myself as the Mother of Heathens and Pitbulls. I’m a single mother of three boys and a cancer survivor.

°

°

Have I always wanted to be an author…

I loved to read and write. I wrote short stories as far back as grade school and I wanted to take the creative writing class so bad in high school my mother petitioned for me to take it a year early. (She got me in too!) I was published in a local drug and alcohol program for some poetry I did in that class, but I never thought it possible as a career, back then the indie author world wasn’t as large and accessible as it is today, so I spent a decade or so as a nurse before I took up the pen again.

°

°

My current series is The Crossroads Priestess.

The inspiration for it came from a couple places. My own life seasons the FMC. She has three kids and is stressed to the max with cancer. I’d been there, but in Tara’s case her cancer proves terminal and I wanted a fuck cancer story. So, I took that and mixed in some of the bump in the night type stuff I’d heard over the last decade of working night shift in nursing homes and let my pen do the rest.

°

°

Now that The Crossroads Priestess is out to the ARC team, I’ve been working on Taking the Night, book II of The Krypt Series.

°

Quirks…

No one can read my work until it’s done. I can give snippets, but that’s it. No shoulder surfing at my house!

°

Hopes for the Future:

I’m hoping I can make it to Penned Con in St Louis this year and fit in a Florida trip.

°

Advice for those that are new…

Join lots of Indie groups and don’t be afraid to make friends and ask questions!

°

°

Anything to say to my readers…

I’d like to thank the readers for their awesome support and feedback! The Reverse Harem readers and authors are so supportive. I love the interaction and sense of community that has developed on Facebook.

Author Samantha Rose #interview

Please give a warm welcome to author Samantha Rose

°

Tell us a bit about yourself

Hmm, where do I start. I’m a Sci-fi author. I plan to venture out to other genres in the near future. I’m actually writing two contemporary romance novellas that will be out this summer. I’m originally from Nova Scotia, Canada. After meeting my husband I moved to the USA. Flash forward 8 years. I currently live in Alabama with my husband, two sons, four cats, and my fish. We move around a lot. I live a quiet lifestyle of housewife, and stay at home mom. My life is a bit norm, so I don’t have any crazy stories to tell.

°

°

Have you always wanted to become an author?

Surprisingly no, I recently wanted to become one — I want to say within the last 4 years. I adore so many great authors. I’d have to give them all credit for me writing today. If it wasn’t for new authors creating new worlds and books, I likely wouldn’t have been inspired. So, I’d like to shout out to all the wonderful authors out there, thank you for being my inspiration!

°

°

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

My inspiration was fear. Having fear is healthy, but what if you wrote about that fear to help overcome it? So, that’s what I did. I have a huge fear of snakes. HUGE. Alabama has a lot of snakes in its green wonderland. Often times, when I go for nature walks with my boys, we see snakes sunning themselves. I usually walk (run) by them, I have respect for them. Meaning, I keep away from them. Though I fear our serpent friends, I know a good amount about them. I decided to write about them to help myself. So far, it’s not working, at all — but the experience has been a blast!

°

°

What are you working on now?

Well, I just finished book two in my Sky Serpent Clan series. I’m doing two contemporary romance novellas, it’ll be part of a Forever safe series which will feature many other amazing authors. After that I plan to write about Tara. She’s the next in my Sky Serpent Clan series line. That’s what I’m currently working on right now.

°

°

Do you have any quirks while writing?

Possibly? I always have one of my four cats, tea, and some form of candy within arms reach.

°

What are your hopes for the future?

I know I’m not perfect, but one day I hope my writing will grow, and get better with time. That people who read my books, will continue to enjoy them.

°

°

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

As a newbie myself, I want others out there to know — don’t be afraid to take that jump. Take the first step, you can do it! Write what makes you happy and don’t stop. Surround yourself with other authors and support one another. Having author friends are wonderful. Lastly, don’t take bad reviews to heart. Not everyone will enjoy your book and that’s okay, that doesn’t mean others won’t enjoy your book. I’ll be cheering you all on from the sidelines.

°

Do you have anything to say to your readers?

A huge thank you to everyone that has read my first book, and my second. To those that helped me spread the word around, and those that have supported me, it helped a lot. To the spectacular readers that have posted reviews stating they loved my book, and gave me tips. You make writing worth it. You’re all truly appreciated!

Author A.J. Macey #interview

Please give a warm welcome to author

Tell us a bit about yourself

I’m addicted to caffeine, cats, and I swear all the time. I have a toddler who’s a handful, but I love dearly as well as two cats who are very ‘mama’s babies’. My husband is my other half in every sense of the world and has really helped me make this dream a reality. I don’t people or socialize well, I’ve mastered using GIFs and memes to communicate on social media. I have a degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice, master’s work in Cybersecurity, crime scene investigation, and forensic psychology, and I was a Correctional Officer before my husband joined the military!

°

°

Have you always wanted to become an author?

I never knew what I wanted to be growing up, but I’ve been writing stories for as long as I can remember. I have old composition notebooks and computer files of all of my books I’ve started. I never actually finished a book with the intention of publishing until my book Smoke and Wishes that I finished in September 2018 and released March 1st, 2019.

°

°

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

The Aces was honestly just a plot/collection of characters that just came to me one night when I was half asleep. Best Wishes was the fact paranormal romance has been one of my go-to favorite categories to read for as long as I can remember! High School Clowns & Coffee Grounds was because I wanted to have a contemporary YA series that would be more relatable to teenagers and young adults but still was considered an RH.

°

What are you working on now?

Editing for my upcoming releases: Lads & Lattes (High School Clowns & Coffee Grounds book 1) as well as Smoke and Survival (Best Wishes book 2) and writing the second book of my The Aces series, Adversary.

°

°

Do you have any quirks while writing?

I make the facial expressions my characters make, like if my character is smirking or narrowing their eyes, I’m doing it too!

°

What are your hopes for the future?

To be able to continue releasing books that people love! I’m not too concerned with getting reviews or anything, while they are very nice, I write because I love it and I want to share these little pieces of me with the world.

°

°

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

It can be hard, some days you’ll doubt yourself and others you’ll feel like ‘hell yes I got this’. Don’t let those bad days, doubts, bad reviews, or negative people bring you down, your work is your art, your creation, and that is beautiful. Get people hyped for your book with a takeover (if you’re writing reverse harem, there is a very large community on Facebook!), teasers, interactive games, your inspiration, or facts about the writing process!

°

Do you have anything to say to your readers?

Thank you so much for all your support through the process and launch of my first book as well as the interaction in the facebook group afterward! I can’t wait for you guys to get your hands on my future books, hope you love them!!

I work full time in public health but I also write full time. I have a wonderful hubby who supports me and boys I love dearly. I’m passionate about books, wine, writing, and family.

°

Have you always wanted to become an author?

°

Yes and no. I became passionate about books and writing in high school but the real love for words happened in elementary school when I read the Chronicles of Narnia for the first time. After that, I was addicted.

°

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

°

I’ve always been fascinated with the Salem witch trials so this new PNR takes a spin on that and adds a reverse harem flair with plenty of action and scary villains.

°

What are you working on now?

°

My next book is about a wolf shifter and a new series.

Not really. I drink a lot of tea and like to listen to music.
