Pre-order Fractured Waves by Samantha Rose #amreading

𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘔𝘢𝘺 2022

Long have I waited for an adventure. From the moment I started working as a nurse, I saved for my dream vacation. When that dream becomes a reality as my cruise ship leaves the coast of Alaska, the overwhelming happiness I feel disappears in a flash of rainbow colors.

I’m in a place like nowhere I’ve ever been, where everything is alien. I find myself back on a coast, only with sand, not the rocky shoreline or snow-tipped mountains I am used to. Wandering alone, I feel eyes on me, then I see him from a distance.

Before I know it, he steals me away before I can run, vowing I am his. There is nowhere to hide and no way to escape the water kingdom where he holds me captive. I become more and more confused and conflicted as time goes on. My brain is telling me to find a way out, but my heart is telling me to stay.

Is this a nightmare or the fantasy I’ve dreamed of?

Tell us a bit about yourself

I’m a mom of two boys a handful of cats and some fish.
I’m your regular everyday person, well sort of. My friends and family think of me as the crazy cat lady.
I’m originally from NS, Canada but moved to the USA in 2011, got hitched, had kids and started the proto because a citizen.

°

Have you always wanted to become an author?

No. I went through a stage of wanting to be different things. I think I wanted to be a Veterinarian before I wanted to write.
I didn’t start wanting to become an author until my imagination became overloaded with wild crazy thoughts.
I was reading book after book, I consumed them like food. I couldn’t get enough. That’s when I decided to try my luck.

°

°

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

Villains. I love bad boys/girls and Disney is my favorite. Like many others before me, there is a deep love for the villains that never get a story of their own. So why not write one for them, instead of killing or chasing them off, give them the happy ending they deserve.

°

°

What are you working on now?I’m currently finishing my villain story in the Mischief Matchmakers series. Only a few more Chapters to go!!

Do you have any quirks while writing?

I’m not really sure to be honest? I usually always an oddball.

°

°

What are your hopes for the future?

That people will continue to find joy in my books and to help my author friends when they need it.

°

°

What have you learned in your first year as an published author?

Being an author is hard. Lol.. Not going to lie, some days I struggle and I can go days without writing a single word when it’s just not flowing.
I started off thinking this would be a part time gig and it ended up being full time. Between running my author pages and writing, it takes up most of the free time I have when my kids are in school or asleep.
Then there are all the steps to writing a book and publishing that I learned as I went along.
I’m still learn new things everyday!! It’s never boring that’s for sure.

°°

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

Never give up! This is a learning experience and even if you fail the first time (I did!!) just keep trying and you’ll get better! You’re not going to know everything day one in, and that’s okay but that doesn’t mean you can’t write a book. Believe in yourself. Your mind can do wonderous things.

°°

Do you have anything to say to your readers?

Thank you for sticking by me and reading my books! I didn’t think people would buy my stuff, you gave me hope and because of you guys I write and my drama stays alive.

Tell us a bit about yourself

Hmm, where do I start. I’m a Sci-fi author. I plan to venture out to other genres in the near future. I’m actually writing two contemporary romance novellas that will be out this summer. I’m originally from Nova Scotia, Canada. After meeting my husband I moved to the USA. Flash forward 8 years. I currently live in Alabama with my husband, two sons, four cats, and my fish. We move around a lot. I live a quiet lifestyle of housewife, and stay at home mom. My life is a bit norm, so I don’t have any crazy stories to tell.

°

°

Have you always wanted to become an author?

Surprisingly no, I recently wanted to become one — I want to say within the last 4 years. I adore so many great authors. I’d have to give them all credit for me writing today. If it wasn’t for new authors creating new worlds and books, I likely wouldn’t have been inspired. So, I’d like to shout out to all the wonderful authors out there, thank you for being my inspiration!

°

°

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

My inspiration was fear. Having fear is healthy, but what if you wrote about that fear to help overcome it? So, that’s what I did. I have a huge fear of snakes. HUGE. Alabama has a lot of snakes in its green wonderland. Often times, when I go for nature walks with my boys, we see snakes sunning themselves. I usually walk (run) by them, I have respect for them. Meaning, I keep away from them. Though I fear our serpent friends, I know a good amount about them. I decided to write about them to help myself. So far, it’s not working, at all — but the experience has been a blast!

°

°

What are you working on now?

Well, I just finished book two in my Sky Serpent Clan series. I’m doing two contemporary romance novellas, it’ll be part of a Forever safe series which will feature many other amazing authors. After that I plan to write about Tara. She’s the next in my Sky Serpent Clan series line. That’s what I’m currently working on right now.

°

°

Do you have any quirks while writing?

Possibly? I always have one of my four cats, tea, and some form of candy within arms reach.

°

What are your hopes for the future?

I know I’m not perfect, but one day I hope my writing will grow, and get better with time. That people who read my books, will continue to enjoy them.

°

°

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

As a newbie myself, I want others out there to know — don’t be afraid to take that jump. Take the first step, you can do it! Write what makes you happy and don’t stop. Surround yourself with other authors and support one another. Having author friends are wonderful. Lastly, don’t take bad reviews to heart. Not everyone will enjoy your book and that’s okay, that doesn’t mean others won’t enjoy your book. I’ll be cheering you all on from the sidelines.

°

Do you have anything to say to your readers?

A huge thank you to everyone that has read my first book, and my second. To those that helped me spread the word around, and those that have supported me, it helped a lot. To the spectacular readers that have posted reviews stating they loved my book, and gave me tips. You make writing worth it. You’re all truly appreciated!
