Tell us a bit about yourself

I am 29 from North East Oklahoma. I live here with my husband and our 4 boys, 2 dogs and 2 cats. I work part time at the local Dollar Tree ( I can’t wait to quit lol) My husband says that I am the strangest person that he has ever met. I usually take it as a compliment. I have 3 brother and 2 sisters. And i am not sure what else to tell you. I am just me and that is all that I can be.

Have you always wanted to become an author?

Yes and No. I knew that I wanted to do something, but wasn’t sure what. I have always loved to read. It was always my escape from a not too good childhood. My stepdad was a meth addict and it usually got bad around our house, or whoever’s house we were staying at, when he was out. I wanted my life and the m kids lives to be better.

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

Haa this one is the kicker. My daughter passed away in 2013 and I started using drugs after. I wanted to kill the pain, kill the nightmares, kill myself if I am being completely honest. I started writing poetry first and that turned into writing stories, and from there I started writing E.R.A . i didn’t know what the hell I was doing. I still don’t lol.

What are you working on now?

Right now I am working on R.a.L (Revenge and Love) which is book 2 in the HayleAnna Rising Series. We are releasing it on September 25th of this year, which is my 9 year wedding anniversary. I am also working on Irish Eyes with my little sister which we haven’t set a release date for.

Do you have any quirks while writing?

5) I have to be by an open window. I also have to have some sort of classic movie or cartoon playing on the t.v . I have tried writing to newer t.v shows and my flow just isn’t the same.

What are your hopes for the future?

6) When I first published E.R.A , I wanted one person to love it as much as I do. A lady told me last night that it was her favorite book that she had ever read. That was my short term goal. My long term is to be able to quit my part time job and stay at home and write. I want to be able to do author events and book signings in the near future.

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

7) Yes. Yes I do. Listen to your heart. If write a story that you love, someone else is going to love it too. Be afraid, but do it. Fear can only hold you back if you let it. Oh and always have someone who does know what they are doing. Don’t just go in blind.

Do you have anything to say to your readers?

8 ) I just want to say Thank you guys so much for all of the support that you have shown us. I want y’all to know how much you inspire me to continue to write. The reviews that you have all left and the messages that I have received, are so heart warming to me. Please just continue to read the stories that we throw out for you guys and PLEASE don’t ever be afraid to tell me if they suck! I love you guys! Thank you!
