Please give a warm welcome to author Bo Reid
Tell us a bit about yourself
Well I’m 25, a mom to one little monster, and a wife. I was born and raised in California and we still live in the same small county we were born in. I have two dogs, who are my office assistants, which basically means they sleep under my feet while I write. Ha

Have you always wanted to be a writer?
Not at all, it actually wasn’t even on my radar as a thing I could do. I have always been a huge reader, and my husband sarcastically said I should “Write a book or something” cause of how my I enjoy reading. I told him just because someone likes to read doesn’t mean they could be a writer, que major eye rolling. My mom has always encouraged my “overactive imagination” as she calls it. I was always making up stories and worlds when I was little, and even made my family refer to me as Pocahontas for a good week or so when I was little. A good friend of mine encouraged me to start a blog or something for over a year just cause my stories are funny, and I’m a snarky asshole that says funny things. All this added into me starting to sarcastically write a book to prove to my husband I couldn’t in fact do it. That didn’t work out and here we are.

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?
MURDER! Just kidding, kind of. I have always been obsessed with true crime and I’m constantly reading about cases, listening to podcasts and I even used to want to be an FBI profiler. When I sat down to write my first words on a page the crime and murder just flowed. It seemed like the most natural thing for me to be able to write about, and I’ve found I can’t actually finish anything if I can’t find a way to add murder.

What are you working on now?
Right now, I have about a million projects in different stages of being finished, anywhere from 500-50,000+ words in any given doc. But I’m actively working on finishing The Reapers series, Betrayal book one is out. Deception book two is with the betas. Bloodlines book three I just finished rough edits and my alpha has it. And Redemption the final is a Work in Progress.
Broken Hart, book one in The Hart Duet is also with the beta and comes out in July, up for pre order now. Wild Hart, the second book in that duet is a WIP right now.
Other than that, I basically just have 2020 releases mapped out, but not working on them. I have a handful of surprises up my bloody sleeves as well for the end of this year.

Do you have any quirks while writing?
I wouldn’t say I have any quirks; I listen to music but not always depends on my mood. I don’t have a certain drink I need to have, or anything like that.

What are your hopes for the future?
Honestly? I feel like I’m already living in a dream world, Betrayal has done better than I ever dreamed it would. I guess my only hope is to keep writing, keep putting books into the world for my readers. Maybe someday be able to do author signing events and things like that I think would be amazing.

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing worlds?
I self-published so I guess I’d just say that doing that is easier than you probably think it is to do. Start building your reader group, and social media pages, and connecting with other authors before you even publish your first thing. Trust me having a small base of people that are excited for your first book will help you take off. and make author friends! Indie authors are an amazing bunch of people willing to help you out with questions you might have, advice, and just all-around being cheerleaders when you need a boost. I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have my author wifeys.

Do you have anything to say to your readers?
Just thank you guys so much for being around, for grabbing a copy of my book and falling in love with the characters as much as I did while writing them. Thank you for being a part of The Graveyard (my reader group) and sticking around through all the crazy! I wouldn’t be able to do this stuff without you guys; I really appreciate each and every single one of you!
