Tell us a bit about yourself

°

Of all the questions I’ve been asked over the years, this is always the one that gives me pause. Why do I feel an uncomfortable, awkward twinge when I try to formulate a response? Help!

Part of me wants to give a silly dating site sort of answer: I love long walks on the beach, candlelight, and men who wash dishes. (All true!)

But, in all seriousness, I’m a total introvert, which is, in part, why I find this question difficult. I’m a thinker and a great listener, but I don’t talk about myself all that much.

Some things that make up the person I am: I’m fascinated by human nature, psychology, and madness. I have three dogs, one cat, all rescues, and all spoiled beyond reason. Each day is a battle against giving in to chronic health problems, most stemming from late-stage Lyme disease. Writing, reading, my furkids, my supportive husband, my family, and each and every reader who connects with me in some way keep me moving forward, one small step at a time.

°

°

Have you always wanted to become an author?

°

Oddly, becoming an author was never a career consideration. In my younger years, I didn’t even realize that what I did was different from what other people did in their spare time. I’ve always written. As soon as I was able to put sentences together, I wrote stories. As a child, I’d sit with a pencil and stapler for hours. I’d transcribe the stories in my head onto the pages, make a title page, and then staple it all together. In my teen years, I wrote a ton of dark poetry. Then I moved on to essays and short stories. Later, I wrote a lot of health-related articles for early websites. And, finally, I found myself writing a novel because it was the only way to stop the noise in my head.

I was always an author, though I didn’t realize it.

°

°

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

°

This past February, I published OUT OF THE DARKNESS, which is the second Joe Cavelli, Paranormal PI novel. This is a series that wasn’t supposed to be a series. The first book, INTO THE LIGHT, was published several years ago and was meant to be a stand-alone. But my mind is odd, untamed, and undisciplined. Ideas randomly pop into my head, demanding attention, and that’s what happened in this instance.

One day, I was doing something completely unrelated to Joe Cavelli’s character and the subject of ghosts, when for no reason I can discern, I thought: Out of the Darkness! It was like a public broadcasting announcement in my head, loud and determined. Gus’s character immediately followed, as if he was shouting, “Here I am! I have stuff to say! Pay attention!”

I paid attention. Really, I have no choice in these matters. And so Joe Cavelli had to go back to work, like it or not.

°

°

What are you working on now?

°

As I explained, I don’t have control of these things. I wanted to write the next Joe Cavelli novel. I even wrote the opening page—before I was rudely interrupted. A different set of characters knocked Joe aside because, apparently, their story is more important. And so I’m writing a stand-alone psychological suspense novel. I have to admit I’m intrigued by this one.

°

°

Do you have any quirks while writing?

°

I’m a hodgepodge of quirks held together under a façade of normalcy. With regards to writing specifically, I have two quirks. Before I sit down to write, I have to brush my teeth. It’s weird, I know, which is why it’s called a quirk. I can drink tea while writing, but I can’t have any sort of aftertaste in my mouth from something I ate or drank earlier. A sensory thing? I don’t have a clue.

My other quirk isn’t as weird. In fact, I think it’s true of many writers. I do some of my best creating in the shower. That’s often where I figure out plot trajectory, get to know more about my characters, come up with plot twists, and have random ideas for new stories. I’ve considered buying markers to use on my glass shower doors, but for now I just keep pen and paper nearby.

°

°

What are your hopes for the future?

°

World peace. Barring that, inner peace. And a movie deal. But mostly peace.

°

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

°

New writers today have an array of options and far more control than in the past. I think what many authors don’t realize is that, regardless of whether you sign with a major publisher, a small publisher, or you self-publish, it’s a whole lot of work. The writing is, for most of us, the easy part. The challenge comes with navigating the business of writing, whether it be working with an editor, graphic design, promotion, or marketing. I recently took a course to learn how to properly use Instagram as an author. That’s not something you find in a college curriculum, and yet it’s just one important aspect of navigating the world as an author.

Given all this, my advice would be to study the things that don’t come naturally. You can write a fantastic novel, but it won’t matter if you don’t know how to sell it.

°

Do you have anything to say to your readers?

°

Thank you! I write the stories, but readers give them life. I am continually honored and humbled by the fact that, of all the books out there, someone chooses to spend time reading one of mine.

Please give a warm welcome to author Misty Malloy

Tell us a bit about yourself?

My name’s Misty and my favorite things are wine, chocolate, and cheese! I’m a snack-a-holic and can be bribed to do pretty much anything for those delicious Tostitos lime chips. (I’ve officially banned them from the house…they are so good, but so, so evil!) I also frequently sing along to old school hip hop in my car.

Have you always wanted to become an author?

When I was a kid, I used to write tons of stories. My first story was about a snake, Rambo, and Santa Claus…it was pretty weird! I ended up becoming a biologist and teaching science, and I used to joke with my colleagues that I’d be writing romance soon. So…here I am today!

°

°

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

My current series is The Orestaia Series. A lot of my writing inspiration comes from places I’ve traveled. This series takes place in Prague, Sedona, and Vis Island in Croatia…three of my favorite places in the world! I also include parts of the Croatian language in my books, since that’s where my family is from.

What are you working on now?

I just finished the third book in The Orestaia Series, and have some plans for a new fantasy reverse harem trilogy. Dragons and a kick-ass heroine! I’m still plotting everything out, but more info to come soon!

°

°

Do you have any quirks while writing?

It’s not really a quirk, but I love writing in the evenings with a glass of wine. (Not editing, though…editing with wine is never good!)

What are your hopes for the future?

I’m hoping to crank out some badass books! And also to meet Jon Snow in person, please.

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

Just keep writing! (I’m still trying to figure it all out, too!)

Do you have anything to say to your readers?

Thanks so much for reading my books! I’m so appreciative of all of you!

°

°

Tell us a bit about yourself

°

Not much to tell, lol. Married with 3 children. My life is pretty boring which might explain the writing, LOL.

°

Have you always wanted to become an author?

°

Yes and no. As a teen, I was a voracious reader, and that continued into my twenties. I just didn’t have time to write. Then I became a mom and had even less time. But I finally made myself give it a try in my mid thirties after my husband dared me.

°

°

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

°

LOL, which one…My mind runs too fast to keep up sometimes. I have all kinds of ideas, triggered by the silliest of things, and usually starting with the question, “What if…” I am really excited by an upcoming series called Chimera Secrets. A top secret medical facility is making monsters but that doesn’t mean love isn’t in the air 😉 Book one, A Nurse for the Wolfman is coming in June. I also have a spin off to my Bad Boy series, called Killer Moms with Soccer Mom releasing in May.

°

°

What are you working on now?

°

A dystopian romance with hints of paranormal… I won’t be revealing it until Summer for a 2020 release. I do have four books planned for it, maybe more if I fall in love with the world and can’t leave.

°

Do you have any quirks while writing?

°

I really like to be quiet. No music. No television. Just silence so I can hear the voices.

°

°

What are your hopes for the future?

To write something epic enough it gets made into a cool show or movie on Netflix. LOLOLOL.

°

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

°

The biggest thing is finish the book. Without the book, there is nothing.

°

°

Do you have anything to say to your readers?

°

LOVE YOU! LOL. Seriously, readers are the reason I dive into these wild and strange worlds.

Bio

°

New York Times and USA Today Bestseller Eve Langlais is a Canadian author who loves to write hot romance. She likes to blame her twisted imagination for her sarcastic sense of humor which tends to heavily influence her stories. She enjoys writing about strong alpha males, and shifters. Lots of big, overprotective shifters that need the right woman to temper their wild side–and unleash the lover. She loves to write, and while she might not always know what her mind is going to come up with next, she does promise it will be fun, probably humorous and most of all romantic, because she believes in a happily ever after.

Author Eve Bradley #interview

Please give a warm welcome to author Eve Bradley

Tell us a bit about yourself

I’m just a homebody who randomly freaks out when I’ve been in the house too long! Haha. My husband works and I stay home with my three-year-old daughter. I’m attending school for counseling and I write books. I feel really blessed that I get to do this and finally have found the guts to get my stories out there. I’m learning a lot from this experience. I’m also a coffee addict and known video game connoisseur. I’m a huge nerd and proud of it.

Have you always wanted to become an author?

Yes. Ever since fourth grade. I just loved magic and plots and characters. It was an escape but also just in my blood I think. My family is pretty creative all around. I think I always pushed becoming an author out of my head because so many people told me it wasn’t realistic and that I had to be practical. But here I am.

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

The Peacequeen series is a spin off of an old YA book I had planned. I love this series and I’m excited to explore the world and characters more. A lot of people have said it’s dark. I agree with that. But to me, the story is more realistic. I told myself not to hold back. The guys don’t swoop in to save her. Each of the guys deal with their own issues and hurt one another. But I started it this way for a reason. I wanted them to all be broken people who grow together through the course of the series and find healing and peace together. The reviews I’ve gotten are mixed and I know some people won’t like it, but I hope people can bear with the dark so that we can get to the growth and goodness throughout the rest of the story!

What are you working on now?

Currently I have a historical paranormal reverse harem (The Breathless Souls Series) that I’m getting ready to release. It’s crazy fun. Pretty fast burn, action packed, lots of sex etc. The first will be out on March 16th! I’ll be working on the Peacequeen series throughout the year along with this series. I’ll also start working on a new post-apocalyptic Reverse Harem during the summer and fall and that’s one I’m super excited about as well.

Do you have any quirks while writing?

I have to have my electric blanket. I’m obsessed with warm and snuggly clothes so if I’m not comfy I cannot write. I also like hot water with lemon while I write. Or coffee. Always coffee.

What are your hopes for the future?

Oh man. I have so many hopes for the future. First, I hope that I raise my daughter the best possible way and create a healthy, stable, loving, genuine, kind, honest, confident young woman that takes no crap from people. Personally, I hope in ten years I’ll proudly have at least 50 books out (five books a year minimally), have my psychology degree, and feel successful for what I’ve done. I just want to feel proud of myself and I want that for everyone. I’m really passionate about people, body positivity, women’s self-image, and mental health. I grew up in an abusive household and I think that’s why I like to explore shitty situations in my stories. That being said, I also want to show hope, growth, and healing in my characters after they’ve gone so dark and horrible it seems like there’s no turning back. The biggest thing I want out of life is to contribute in some way to making the world a better place in my lifetime through counseling and writing.

Do you have any advice for new authors

about the publishing world?

I’d say own it. I’m always so afraid when I post something because I don’t want to sound like a weirdo author pleading with the readers to “come buy my book!” Haha. But I think as an indie author you’re the only one doing your marketing, and you have to step out on a limb and say, “No. I do deserve this. I’ve worked hard to complete this book or books, and I’m going to try my best to get it out there.” Plus get to know people. Try to connect with others when you can. Also make sure you have a good quality story and try your best to make it “sellable.” Am I allowed to say that? One of the things I find admirable are authors who are able to take critique, whether that’s on the style of their cover not being marketable, or just being willing to grit their teeth and learn things like networking and marketing. Because those things are difficult if you’ve never done them before. I know this because I’m learning and I’ll always be learning. Good luck to all the new and old authors out there!

Do you have anything to say to your fans?

I don’t know if I have fans but if I do: thank you for reading! I hope you enjoy what I put out and we’re in this journey together. Also, love yourself. Life is too damn short not to love yourself.

Tina Donahue Picture - Color.jpgTina is an Amazon and international bestselling novelist in erotic, paranormal, contemporary and historical romance for traditional publishers and indie. Booklist, Publisher’s Weekly,Romantic Times and numerous online sites have praised her work. Three of her erotic novels (Freeing the Beast, Come and Get Your Love, and Wicked Takeover) were Readers’ Choice Award winners. Another three (Adored, Lush Velvet Nights, and Deep, Dark, Delicious) were named finalists in the EPIC competition. Sensual Stranger, her erotic contemporary romance, was chosen Book of the Year at the French review site Blue Moon reviews. The Golden Nib Award at Miz Love Loves Books was created specifically for her erotic romance Lush Velvet Nights. Two of her titles (The Yearning and Deep, Dark, Delicious) received an Award of Merit in the RWA Holt Medallion competition. Take Me Away and Adored both won second place in the NEC RWA contest (different years). Tina is featured in the Novel & Short Story Writer’s Market. Before penning romances, she worked at a major Hollywood production company in Story Direction.

But a cowboy swept her off her feet and carried her below the Mason-Dixon line to Texas, where she promptly lost all tolerance for cold and snow. Fueled by coffee, dreams, and men in kilts, Wren promises to bring you laughter, sexy fun time, and action that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The easiest way to her heart is anything to do with the Green Bay Packers, Doctor Who, or Joss Whedon.

Teresa Noelle Roberts 72 dpi for WEB-14.jpgTeresa Noelle Roberts started writing stories in kindergarten and she hasn’t stopped yet. A prolific author of short erotica, she’s also a published poet and fantasy writer—but BDSM-spiced contemporaries, hot paranormals, and sexy science fiction romances have become her favorite things to write.

She shares her Massachusetts home with her husband, a Leo in law enforcement, and three cats. She and her husband would visit New Orleans all the time if she could get the dang teleporter to work.

selfie with roses.jpgI write romance: m/f, m/m, and v/h, where the h is for human and the v is for vampire … or sometimes demon … I lean more towards funny than angst. When I’m not writing I take care of tiny premature babies or teenagers, depending on whether I’m at home or at work. My husband is a soul of patience, my dog’s cuteness is legendary, and we share the homestead with three ferrets. Who steal things. Because they’re brats.

c89dc-13

So I think this is the part where I’m supposed to say something super cool, win you over, and make you my life-long superfan…OR wait, is that how I am about my anime collection?

Probably.

Basically, I’m an author, blogger, geek, and villain lover (Joker IS MINE!). There shouldn’t be any surprise then that I tend to love my heroes a bit broken, all messed up, and in need of someone who understands them just the way they are.

Hell, my heroines are right there with them. You see, love is nice, it’s sweet. It can be all rainbows and glowing stars. And then it can be dark, twisted, hurtful, and feel so damn good you have to scream about it. So I write like that. From one side of the spectrum to the other, because that’s real. That’s life. And that’s what we crave–delving into a fantasy world or not.

Erzabetflowery.jpgErzabet Bishop is an award-winning and bestselling author who loves to write naughty stories. She is the author of Lipstick, Crave, Snow (Three Times More Lucky Box Set), Malediction (upcoming-A Wicked Halloween Box Set), Map of Bones (upcoming-A Wicked Affair Box Set), Sanguine Shadows (Vampire Bites Box Set), The Science of Lust, Wicked for You, Heart’s Protector, Burning for You, Red Hot (upcoming), Bayou Shadows (upcoming-Nola Naughty Nine) Hedging Her Bets (Alpha Fever Box Set), Cat’s Got Her Tongue (Alpha Heat Box Set), Arcane Imaginarium: Spirit Board, Holidays in Hell, Mallory’s Mark (upcoming),The Devil’s Due (upcoming), Charity Benshaw’s Enchanted Paddle Emporium (upcoming), Sigil Fire, Glitter Lust (upcoming), Written on Skin, Club Beam, Pomegranate, A Red Dress for Christmas, The Black Magic Café, Fantasies in Red, Sweet Seductions, Holiday Cruise, Fetish Fair, Temptation Resorts: Jess, Temptation Resorts: Marnie, Taming the Beast, The Erotic Pagans Series: Beltane Fires, Samhain Shadows and Yuletide Temptation along with being a contributor to many anthologies. She lives in Texas with her husband, furry children and can often be found lurking in local bookstores. She loves to bake, make naughty crochet projects and watch monster movies.

Headshot2

When she’s not plotting ways to sneak her latest shoe purchase past her partner, Amanda writes sexy, snarky romance and urban fantasy. She likes her heroines smart and unafraid to make mistakes, and her heroes strong enough to take them on.

If she’s not writing, she’s reading, drinking hot chocolate, and trying not to destroy her house with her newest DIY project. She lives in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, and no, it really doesn’t rain that much.

I write a variety of different kinds of romance for Entangled Publishing, Evernight Publishing, and M&M Publishing. I’m an Oregon Ducks fan. I’m a donut and pastry addict (pretty much any carbs, really). I like cats. I’m terrified of balloons. When I’m not writing you’ll find me in a college classroom teaching English, and of course, wrangling my family.

Kate at WWW 2016 (1)Kate Richards divides her time between Los Angeles and the High Sierras. She would gladly spend all her days in the mountains, but she’d miss the beach…and her very supportive husband’s commute would be three hundred miles. Wherever she is, she loves to explore all different kinds of relationships in her stories. She doesn’t believe one-size-fits-all, and whether her characters live BDSM, ménage, GLBT, spanking, or any other kind of lifestyle, it’s the love, the joy in one another, that counts.

Sinners of Water & Fire review

Sinners of Water & Fire review

I was lucky to receive an ARC of this book. It is the final book in the Sinners series and I have really been looking forward to reading it, but also dreading it because it’s the last one in the series. I was not disappointed; this was the best Sinners book the author has written and a perfect ending to the series.
The author kicks ass with this book where the gods come out to play and old friends reappears. The author and the fates wield their powers and leave surprises in their wake. Some of the scenes were so hot that I considered going outside to take a roll in the snow. I highly recommend this book to everyone.

I have to share one of my favorite lines from the book:
Must. Not. Pet. Strange. Men. She reminded herself sternly. 😉

I look forward to to reading the new series that the author is working on.
