Please give a warm welcome to

Tell us a bit about yourself

First and foremost above all else I am a Christian and a member of the Church of God Assemble.
I place Christ above everything, including myself.
I am a wife and mother.
I am a professional multi-state nurse, a member of ANA, a loyal patient advocate, certified in Tracheotomy and Ventilators for all age groups.
I am also a multi-genre author.

Have you always wanted to become an author?

As a child I had many dreams and aspirations for the further. Writing was one of them.

What was your inspiration for your current book/ series?

This is the question I have a hard time answering because this book was not wrote in any traditional forms.
* I wrote the middle first.
* Then, I wrote the beginning.
* Then, the ending.
* This book was wrote in different seasons of my life.
* The Middle-I was Happy!
* The Beginning- I was struggling with anxiety and depression.
* The Ending- I have literally done 360* turn- I found hope and peace! Rededicating my life back to Christ, and then I was baptized and then praise God received the gift of the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
Considering this book was wrote in such different seasons of my life I have had some strong hesitation in publishing it. I had to make sure it was good with my soul to continue with publication, since that’s my first priority now.
As any artist knows, where ever you are, whatever you’re going through-your art reflects that! There’s always a piece of you in each book you write authors, same goes for song writers, and those that make art of any type know that this is true.
To answer your question, my story comes from several different places.
* a dream- middle part
* Real life, historical events, actual news, fairytales, folklore, mythology, biblical history, the Holy Bible and prophecy, conspiracy theories, miracles, mysteries, love and lose, a lot of imagination and basically everything else not mentioned above is woven throughout the rest of the book and not necessarily in that order.
This book was a hard first novel to write. This book is multi-genre in itself. It is an intense read. I would also like to add that in no way is to be taken as anything other than fictional. I say this because it will leave you wondering. I also do not recommend this book for anyone under 18 years of age.

What are you working on now?

I am currently working on a novel about anxiety and depression. I have a blog that I have started that goes along with the book, sharing some insights to overcome anxiety and depression; some details found on the blog will not be in my next book. My blog is a help for those who suffer with anxiety and depression, to learn to live again and get their lives back.
When I started writing my story Never Alone, I noticed how many people personally and in general/casual contact, who had post on their FBP on how sad they were or how anxious they were or just wished they felt like themselves again. That is when I decided to start my Book Blog, You are Never Alone.
My novel is a story not a self help book. My blog is a self help blog.
I will be writing a Christian self help book. I have yet to name it as of yet, but I know there is an interest and need for help in our society with anxiety and depression at an all time high. I just feel the need to offer any help I can since I have been there.
I am also working on a children’s book called Lucky, The Love Puppy designed for adventurous 3-6/7 year olds and I am doing all my illustrations for it myself. Wish me luck!

Do you have any quirks while writing?

I listen to music, certain songs are better than others to help me write and it really depends on the book I am writing also.

°

What are your hopes for the future?

Right now, I am just taking things one day at a time. I’ve learnt that things worth having are worth the wait, and the most precious of gifts are free.

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

Yes!! No matter what anyone thinks or says; you don’t have to be perfect! Be yourself and don’t give up! There’s a lot of critics, not everyone is going to like everything you write, so be prepared to be you!
Because you are different from everyone else; your writing will be also be different.
Best advice I was ever given was by an English Professor. He said, “Write as if you are the person you are writing about and write about what you know!”
If you know love, write about love, hurt and pain- write that, betrayal- write that, etc… if you write of those things you have felt; especially while you feel them or right afterwards your emotions are going to flow and people will respond to your emotions because they will literally flow out into your book and reach out and touch them.
We all go through the same ups and downs in our lives at different times, response for an emotionally written book, will touch a person; just like it did you when you experienced that emotion.

Do you have anything to say to your readers?

For anyone-Be true to who you are inside, don’t be afraid to try something new, live your life while you can- remember to be careful and to be smart, research or reach out depending on your circumstances before you jump!
Never compromise who you are, don’t judge another; you don’t know where or what they have been through or how they come to the place they are at. Try to agree, but if you can’t agree, then agree to disagree respectfully. Find your passion and then you’ll find yourself!
Also, remember it’s never too late to do a 360!
Inspiration is interwoven into each of us, we all have a purpose, embrace what is placed in your heart; it’s there for a reason!

Thank you for the invitation for the interview… I hope you have found it informative and that you have enjoyed our time together and my sort of testimony during this interview.
I hope someone found inspiration and needed my advice.
Thank you for your time,
