Author K.R. Hall #interview

Please give a warm welcome to author Karen Hall

Tell us a bit about yourself…

I grew up as a Navy child. My dad was transferred about every two years. I was terribly shy, and it was hard to make friends. I was in the Air Force from 1984 to 1992. I moved to Colorado with my then three-year-old son.

I was a single mom for 14 years. I met my soulmate in 2003, and we married in 2004. I have three adult children. Hubby and I had our dream home built in 2015. We live there with our two chihuahuas.

I’m addicted to chocolate. I prefer dark chocolate, I enjoy milk, but I hate white. I love Cherry Coke Zero Sugar. I drink iced tea and hot tea. In the winter, I drink dark chocolate hot cocoa with Reddi-Wip whipped cream.

Have you always wanted to become an author?

I wanted to be a writer in the third grade, but my dad said I needed a job with a guaranteed income. December 2009, I quit my job due to health issues. My first six months of being unemployed were great. I still got up early to see my husband off to work then I cleaned the house. It was just the two of us, and it was easy to keep clean. I read a lot from my favorite authors, Sue Grafton, Dean Koontz, and Stuart Woods. I also read romance novels. My first Paranormal Romance (PNR) was VA Dold’s Le Beau series.

I met Vickie at the Reader Appreciation Weekend for the Denver RomCon in September 2016, and she changed my life. I remember being very nervous. When Vickie came around the corner, I tried to calm down. Her smile lit up her face when she spotted me.

We hugged, and my husband took a photo of us. Vickie is so down to earth. She could tell I was nervous, and to help settle my nerves, she said to me that she put her pants on one leg at a time, just like everyone else.

We spent the weekend getting to know each other at the event. I told Vickie about my ideas about writing a book about bear shifters. She told me that I should write it and she would love to help me out. I called her and emailed her a lot while I wrote my first book.

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

Many things inspire book ideas. A lot of them have been inspired by photos. My newest book, Project X-Force: B.E.A.R. – Bravo Echo Alpha Romeo, was inspired by the cover model’s image.

What are you working on now?

I am starting to write my first RH (Reverse Harem). Just as a harem comprises one man with multiple women, a reverse harem consists of one female protagonist and three or more male love interests. However, this is not a situation where the woman must pick her one true love by the end of the story; instead, she enters into relationships with … several (if not all) of them.

Vega: Stargazers’ Prophecy is the sixth book in a twelve-book series with other authors. Author Gina Manis saw the movie Stardust and had the idea for the series. The other authors joining us are Jewels Arthur, Jade Waltz, Skyler Andra, Quell T. Fox, J.R. Thorn, Krystal Pena, Ciara Skye, Hanleigh Bradley, Zelda Knight, Naomi Panthera, Kenzie Graves, and Eve Bradley.

Do you have any quirks while working?

My office is full of stuffed animals (mainly bears). I have bear figurines and wall art. I must have silence when I write, but sometimes I turn on my bear water fountain. I tend to nibble while I write. I sometimes will have nuts, string cheese, and beef jerky. I also have chocolate candies.

What are your hopes for the future?

I hope to make it to the USA Today’s Bestsellers list one day. I would also like to have a little orange flag from Amazon Bestsellers. In the meantime, I will continue to write and hope readers will enjoy my books.

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

Just keep doing what you love. I rewrote my first book six times before it was published. I have only been an indie author. It would be best if you did what feels right for you. Don’t let anyone tell you how or what to change.

An editor told me to change the lead character’s nationality in a book. I explained that I didn’t feel comfortable doing so. My book was written a certain way, and the people who have read it enjoy the book.

Do you have anything to say to your followers?

Thank you for trusting my books. I’m thrilled that you like them. I enjoy writing and have loads of stories that are bursting to come out of my head and onto paper. I will continue to write and self-publish.

Author Sinclair Kelly #interview

Please give a warm welcome to author Sinclair Kelly

Tell us a bit about yourself…

My name is Sinclair Kelly. I’m a paranormal & contemporary romance author who writes to give all of the feral characters in my head a voice. I’m fluent in sarcasm and dry humor. We currently call sunny Arizona home – we being me, my loving husband, three adorably exhausting kids, a cranky old chihuahua named Sam (aka SamBurger) and a feisty Australian shepherd puppy named Havoc. I love reading, writing, coffee, vodka, tattoos, wine, donuts, broody asshole book boyfriends, badass FMCs, sangria, and all of the friendships I’ve made since beginning my writing journey.

Have you always wanted to become an author?

I’ve dreamed of writing since I was in my early twenties. I took classes to fine tune my work – one by best selling Harlequin author Leigh Michaels – but life got in the way, like it tends to do. It’s taken me almost twenty years to realize my dream, but I’m here now and loving every second of sharing my characters with readers.

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

I just finished up my menage novella series which literally started off with a writing prompt: An ogre, a troll, and a witch walk into a bar…and from there this quirky fairy tale was born.

What are you working on now?

Right now, I’m working on my solo project, Just My Luck, Book four in the Some Kind of Luck shared world series. Book one, The Trouble With Luck, was co-written with Elizabeth Knight, Ali D Jensen, and Letty Frame, and follows four best friends as they experience spring break and St Patrick’s Day in Chicago. It’s got intrigue, hot mafia / mob men, lots of steamy scenes and four friends that are inseparable. Books two, Tough Luck by Ali D Jensen, and three, Stroke of Luck, by Elizabeth Knight, are available now.

Do you have any quirks while working?

When I’m thinking or plotting out a scene in my head, I tend to play with my hair…a lot. My husband thinks it’s weird.

What are your hopes for the future?

Honestly, I’m just excited I get to share my worlds with readers. Would it be awesome to “hit it big”? Of course it would…but that’s not the goal. I just want to tell my stories and hopefully have people enjoy them 🙂

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

Don’t give up. Dreams can happen at any age, so get those ideas and words onto metaphorical paper (or literal paper if that’s your thing). It will happen eventually – whether it’s days/months/years down the line – and you’ll want to be ready 😉

Do you have anything to say to your followers?

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to each and every person that’s crossed my path in the last year. It’s been a wild ride and I couldn’t have done it without you.

Blurb:

Ryder, Garrett, Kenzo, and Diesel—The Vipers.

They run this town and everyone in it. Their deals are as sordid as their business, and their reputation is enough to bring a grown man to his knees, forcing him to beg for mercy. They are not people you mess with, yet my dad did. The old man ran up a debt with them and then sold me to cover his losses.

Yes, sold me.

They own me now.

I’m theirs in every sense of the word. But I’ve never been meek and compliant. These men, they look at me with longing. Their scarred, blood-stained hands holding me tight. They want everything I am, everything I have to give, and won’t stop until they get just that. They can own my body, but they will never have my heart.

The Vipers? I’m going to make them regret the day they took me.

This girl? She bites too.

Excerpt:

The room is filled with chatter, laughter, and the clinking of forks on plates, but all I can hear is my own heart as Kenzo teases me.

The asshole.

His hand lands on my thigh under the table and strokes upwards along my leg, getting higher and higher as he nips at my neck. Eyes still on Ryder, I shift again, trying to ignore my throbbing pussy. Kenzo licks along my neck before he starts to nibble on my ear. I can’t help but swallow hard as he parts my thighs and presses his hand to my wet knickers, the dress giving him full access.

“I can feel how wet you are,” he murmurs darkly, his voice hungry. “I bet if I slipped my fingers into your tight little cunt, you would come for me, wouldn’t you?”

“You wouldn’t dare,” I snap, trying to act tough, but as soon as the words leave my lips, I realise what I’ve done.

Laid down a challenge… to a man who thrives on gambling and bets.

Fuck.

Ryder’s lips turn up slightly, like he knows what’s going to happen. Leaning back in his chair, his phone forgotten on the table, he stares at me. No doubt noting the rise and fall of my chest, my parted lips, and the blush staining my cheeks and creeping down my neck. An arm draped across his chair, legs parted, he sits there waiting like he’s watching the fucking theatre.

And I’m the act.

Kenzo pulls away for a moment and I glance over at him in surprise. He doesn’t seem like the type to back down, but then he’s there, the glint of a blade flashing under the lights before it presses against my knicker-clad pussy. I freeze, barely breathing, and he laughs in my ear.

“They are in the way,” he growls, before he slices them off. I gasp loudly as cool air blows across my wet center.

I watch him tuck the knife and my underwear in his pocket before his hand is stroking up my thigh again. I can’t help it, I part my legs further for him, hitting Garrett’s huge thigh under the table. My gaze jerks up to his to see him peering down at me. He’s angry, as usual, but I also see a deep hunger there.

I want to move away, I should. He doesn’t like me, or women, or to be touched. But he doesn’t shift away and neither do I. My leg presses along his as his brother’s hand finally covers my heat.

Filthy Rich by @SerenaAkeroyd #newrelease

Filthy Rich: A DARK, MAFIA, AGE-GAP ROMANCE (THE FIVE POINTS’ MOB COLLECTION Book 2)

In my world, women are property.

Made to be owned.

Born for one reason—to be tied to a powerful man, to bear the next generation.

That reason is why I don’t want to be married. But women aren’t the only ones with zero say in their lives…

And my bride?

Bratva scum.

Only Inessa isn’t scum.

Inessa is…

Perfect.

Except for one thing.

Someone has touched my property, and for a Five Points’ man, that means someone is going to pay.

With their lives.

They say I’m filthy rich, but what they don’t know is that I’m just plain filthy, and Inessa? She’s about to learn what it means to be married to a filthy fecker.

We kill to protect our women.

We reap nightmares on those who harm them.

And me?

I’m the biggest nightmare of them all.

Book ONE of the Filthy Feckers’ series is a standalone without cliffhanger, but there are elements that will be explored in the following book.

Author Darcy Ray #interview

Please give a warm welcome to

Tell us a bit about yourself

– Well, where to begin… I’m Darcy Ray and this is my Pen Name. My real Identity is a secret so you might as well call me a superhero! I work in the medical field and I’m currently enrolled in nursing school due to graduate in November. I have 2 four-legged fur babies and I’ve been married since 2011 to my elementary sweetheart(awwwww)! I’m a southern gal who grew up in the hood, so I love deeply but will definitely stick up for what I believe in. Some of my favorite things in live besides books include sweet tea, Red bull, and fried chicken! I’m also a pretty open book, so if you wanna know anything further, I’m always willing to answer ❤

°

°

Have you always wanted to become an author?

– Honestly, no. I wanted to become a Doctor or Teacher. Both I’m still striving to be. I have a knack for wanting to help people and I’m very compassionate about other peoples well beings. I mean, sure growing up, I always thought it would be cool to write a book and get it out there, but that thought never seemed real. I only knew of Big time Authors and never heard the term “Indie Authors”. However, back in 2015, I started reading again and I some how stumbled across the RH community. I dived so deep and I never wanted to emerge from the awesome worlds these authors have created. I started being a Beta and even and Alpha. Those two amazing authors who I helped inspired me and made me realize, I could be there one day.

°

°

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

– Ha! Thats a good question. I honestly wanted a book where all the bad things happened. I was tired of reading the same thing over and over again. Noone wrote about periods or using illegal drugs. My FMC is an Escort, most wouldnt touch that because its trashy. So I wanted to break rules and do things my way. Thus Mafias Kiss.

°

What are you working on now?

– I’m curing working on Mafias Embrace, which is book two of the Lethal Beauty and Smoking Steel Series. I finished a short story for an Anthology, and I have like three other series/duets planned to come out by the end of next year.

°

°

Do you have any quirks while writing?

– I need chaos to write. Like loud music, people talking on Discord, and the TV on. It makes me concentrate. Weird I know! I also have to have a visual for almost EVERYTHING I describe. My Pintrest is full of stuff!

°

What are your hopes for the future?

– I plan on graduating this year and taking a year off school per my husbands request and just write. I also plan on improving my skills as an author and grow my audience. Hell, I even hope to become a best selling author one day.

°

°

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

– LOL! I’m still a newbie and I’m also learning as I go. But if I had to give advice? Don’t give up. Write your book from your soul and not what everyone else wants it to be. People can feel that shit when they read. Also support everyone. You are no better or less than anyone else in this community. Well unless your a dick.

°

Do you have anything to say to your readers?

– Thank yall so fucking much for supporting me! I know some of yall may not like my book for whatever reason, but I still appreciate the fact you took a chance on me. I do read reviews and I try honing my skills to make them better. For those who are cheering me on, I fucking love yall! Yall keep me going!!!
