Please give a warm welcome to author Jenn D. Young

Tell us a bit about yourself
I’m a pretty quirky person. I love reading, writing and listening to audiobooks. I’m a super huge fangirl when it comes to my audiobook narrators and I will totally squeal when talking my favs. I love writing books with deep rich backstories and characters with tragic pasts, but I always insert humor and life through sarcasm. Paranormal is my jam, but I’ve done a couple short stories in the contemporary world that I hope to expand on eventually. I live just outside of Phoenix, AZ, but I’m originally from western Washington and I miss my mountains and rain. The two loves of my life are my fur babies, Loki and Hermes. That’s about it about me!

Have you always wanted to become an author?
I’ve been jotting down random ideas since I was about 10 years old. I came up with the concept for my first series, the Shadows Ascending Trilogy when I was about 14 years old and it took me 16 years to finally get it written and published. ❤

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?
The Unyielding Fates Trilogy idea really came to me when I bought the covers as a premade yet. The model’s appearance sparked an idea in my mind of half demon/half angel and being the personification of Balance. It totally spiraled from there!

What are you working on now?
Working on edits to sent Balance Altered, book two in the Unyielding Fates Trilogy to send to my editor. Also getting geared up to start writing a book for a shared world series I’ve joined!

Do you have any quirks while working?
Silence. I can’t write with chaos and noise around me so I typically prefer silence. I also build playlists for each book that help inspire the story flow and show songs with deep meaning for the characters.

What are your hopes for the future?
Just keep writing and releasing books for people to read. Have more of my books in audio.
Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?
Find you tribe. Those people who are true friends that you can bounce ideas off of. Find a good editor. Always reach out and ask for help when you need it.

Do you have anything to say to your followers?
I honestly squeal anytime I get a message or read a review from someone saying they enjoyed my books and my characters. To see a book of mine recommended when a group asks for recommendations? I about die every time it comes up.
