Author Eva Blackwing #interview

Please give a warm welcome to

Tell us a bit about yourself

My name is Eva and I like long walks on the beach! Just kidding, kind of. I do love going to the beach, but I’m more of sit with a whisky and lemonade. I love being outside, whether it’s in a forest for a hike, hanging on a lake, or chillin at the beach. Spending time with in nature with my family is very centering.

I love reading everything from epic fantasy to erotica, as long as there is a fun story behind it.

I’m also a super nerd – or geek? I love Star Wars – Leia defines ‘Princess’ for me! – Marvel, Harry Potter, and all the fun in between.

Have you always wanted to become an author?

I have wanted to be a an author since about age eleven. Before that, I could barely read, but it was right around then that my mom gave me a copy of the Hobbit by JRR Tolkien. Ever since then, I’ve been a voracious reader and have been wanting to tell stories to others.

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

I’m not totally sure what inspired my current series, but it felt like an important story to tell. It’s all about how you can find yourself and really reach your own potential, even if you think you are stuck in a rut. Retrospectively, I think it had a lot to do with my day job. I love my day job, but I was feeling a little bit stagnant. I also really wanted to show my kids that you can absolutely follow your dreams!

What are you working on now?

I’m currently working on a book called Shield in Time. It’s part of the Women of Time Collection, book 8 coming out July 31! It’s a fun book about a woman who gets tossed back to the Viking age, meets some hot Vikings, stirs some shit up, and then finds out her truth.

Do you have any quirks while working?

I love watching movies while I write, but it’s always something comfortable. Something I’ve watched lots of times over and feels like an old friend.

What are your hopes for the future?

I’d like to eventually be able to write full time. I love telling stories and have so many on my WiP list, and I love the flexibility it gives me. Being able to work every day from wherever I am doing something I love? Literally my dream come true! I’ve also gotten to start my own publishing company, so I’m going to keep working on that too!

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

Be patient with yourself and study your genre! It’s important to tell your story but you also want your readers to be happy.

Do you have anything to say to your followers?

I LOVE YOU ALL! Seriously, I know all authors say this but I really don’t care – I truly care about my readers, and some of them have become friends. I feel incredibly blessed and lucky to be in this job, and it’s because of the amazing readers.

Author Duo Tiffany Roberts #interview

Please give a warm welcome to

Tell us a bit about yourselves

We are a husband and wife writing duo who writes science fiction, fantasy, and paranormal romance. We met online when we were around ages 16 and 17. Rob lived in New York, and I lived in Idaho, and after three years of dating online and seeing each other a couple times in person, Robert decided to move to Idaho to live with me. Crazy, huh? We’ve been together ever since, and have three kiddos.

Have you always wanted to become an author?

We both wanted to become authors since high school. It’s always been our dream. We wrote off and on through the years and, well, life happens. We got busy with work and taking care of our kids, we ended up putting our dreams aside. We still roleplayed with each other through a text-based RPG (this was how we met), so we were still writing in a way, but it wasn’t until 2014 when we wrote a short story together for an anthology that it clicked that we could do this.

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

Our current series, The Infinite City, is a combination of things we love from both sci-fi and fantasy. We have some fantasy races that we’ve always loved mixed with aliens, and a futuristic, cyberpunk kind of setting inspired by the show Altered Carbon.

What are you working on now?

We just finished the fourth book in our Infinite City Series, Savage Desire. Currently, we’re working on a secret project with a few author friends of ours. So we can’t say yet! But after that, we’ll be diving back into The Infinite City.

Do you have any quirks while writing?

I don’t think we have any quirks…? We play music on occasion, but we’re pretty settled into our daily routine.

What are your hopes for the future?

We hope that we’ll be able to continue doing what we love despite the constant changes in the market. It was amazing (though scary) when we took the leap to work on our writing fulltime, and that’s all we’d like to do going forward.

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

Research. The indie market is constantly changing and there is so much to learn. But also…write, write, write. And read.

Do you have anything to say to your readers?

We love you all so, so, so much! You all have no idea how much we appreciate you. Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts for your support.

The Wild Tour by #ErinOkane and @K_AKnight #newrelease

The Wild Tour: The Wild Boys Book 2

Welcome to The Wild Boys, where all your wettest dreams come true.

Life on tour is like nothing you can ever expect. G-strings, baby oil and innuendos are rife…and that’s only from the boys. Being a manager of an all male strip show does have its perks though and life is finally getting back on track for us.

My job is going well and my love life is like a romantic comedy…until it starts happening again. The pictures, the texts…all like before. Only this time, what if the person doesn’t stop at a fire…what if this time the person really does kill me?

Fame comes with darkness, and this darkness has its eyes set on me.

One thing is for sure, it’ll be a tour to remember.

Author Dakota Haywood #interview

Please give a warm welcome to

Tell us a bit about yourself

My pen name is Dakota Haywood, I actually chose the last name because it was my late grandmothers last name. I’m twenty years old and currently a nursing student. My passion is to help people, but my dream is to share my writing with others. I am so proud and happy to be able to share my writing with the reader community and I can only hope I make others just as happy with my writing.

Have you always wanted to become an author?

I have always wanted to be an author. It’s been my dream since I was able to write.

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

My inspiration for my book was actually a dream. I dreamed most of the plot and only changed up a few things. Almost all of my ideas come from dreams.

What are you working on now?

Right now I’m working on the unnamed second book in the series called Secrets. I’m also working on a side project featuring Pandora, but that won’t be coming out for a while now.

Do you have any quirks while working?

One of my biggest quirks when writing is I always have to write it first using my lucky pen. It’s a pen that can literally be purchased anywhere but for some reason I attatched to it and now have a little freak out when I can’t find it.

What are your hopes for the future?

I hope to be able to make my readers happy and to improve on my writing.

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

Being a new author myself all I can say is never give up. It took me four years to gather the courage to publish my book and I’m glad for it.

Do you have anything to say to your followers?

For all my followers, I appreciate and value you so much. You have gave me more inspiration and happiness that I can even begin to repay❤️

Author Lucy Scott Bryan #interview

Please give a warm welcome to

Tell us a bit about yourself

I am a new author from Australia – my first book Door: Book 1 came out in March. I have two kids that are getting taller than me, two french bulldogs that I just adore, two cats and a husband who is my BF, and has been since forever.
I have been involved as a reader in the indie world for a while now, lurking on numerous FB pages and was a massive reader for a very long time before that. I started as a fan of Urban Fantasy and long drawn out epic paranormal reads and stumbled into the RH community. I have refused to leave ever since and have pretty much inhaled every book I have come across. So many sub genres to get lost in and too many favourites to list.

Have you always wanted to become an author?

I have read and read and read ever since I was young. I can clearly remember many birthdays unwrapping a book or two. The bookcase in my bedroom was jam packed, with piles of books spilling out of the book shelves.
I have a very vivid imagination and I suspect it was just the right time in my life for me to focus on something besides my kids. I finally gave into letting myself focus on something just for me and that was writing and books. My husband and family have been very supportive, which is pretty awesome.
I was/am also an alpha/beta to a few authors in the indie community and honestly it is such a privilege to be involved in the process with them. I love how different they are and how individual peoples writing styles are. There is no right or wrong. Writing a book is an amazing process.

What was your inspiration for your current book series?

I am a huge, massive, enormous fan of urban fantasy / paranormal / romance and have been in love with almost every vampire ever written about, portrayed in a movie or on TV. My husband and I have spent a lot of time talking about vampires and it honestly got to the stage where these vampires were haunting me. I was also pretty keen in maybe doing a RH a bit different, letting my characters make big mistakes, get angry, hurt. And then all of a sudden, someone said, um you just wrote a dark romance. And now the floodgates have opened, so to speak.

What are you working on now?

I have just released book 2 of Door, which is the final in the series. I absolutely love the Vernard Family, we have gone through a lot together!! They demanded a fair bit of my attention and I am all sorts of sad now that their story has come to an end.
Excited though for new opportunities. I currently have three anthology pieces coming out in the next couple of months – mafia / serial killer and teacher / student. I am also getting close to finishing a contemporary friends, or maybe enemies, to lovers hopefully out in July, along with a new series (two books at this stage) which is a play on fated mates and of course vampires. Next year I have a couple of projects that I am thrilled to be involved in. It’s an exciting time in the indie world.

Do you have any quirks while working?

Laughing I wiggle in my seat while I write. My hands flutter as my characters hurtle through the pages and I pull some pretty funny faces as they talk and feel. And then of course I have cried numerous times with them. My family is constantly asking if I am okay. It’s just my characters wanting me to type faster!!

What are your hopes for the future?

That I can continue writing and producing stories that I am happy to put my name to. If I don’t feel something for what I am writing, I am not doing it right. I would love to explore some diversity in what I write but at the moment paranormal romance / RH keeps beckoning me back into the world of vampires and shifters. Although lately Hunter (who is entirely human) has been yelling at me to get back in front of the computer.

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

Be okay in the knowledge that your books are not for everyone. Be true to your own goals and aspirations despite what is going on around you. Be humble, be confident and don’t be afraid to ask for help. And find your posse – fellow authors, bloggers, pa’s, readers, people that work for you, that encourage you to blossom, and hold on to them tight!

Do you have anything to say to your followers?

Thank you and stay tuned.

The world has never been a kind place. It’s filled with disaster and people that are just out to get you, at least, in Tara’s experience.

Unless you get them first.

But when she becomes mated not to one, but to three men, she has an unexpected change of heart. She sees her future for once, instead of her own downfall and she doesn’t want to let go.

Oceantide by @EverlyTaylor1 and @melodycalder1 #newrelease

Oceantide (Shadow Isle Reformatory Book 2)

Shadow Isle Reformatory, a school for the good, the bad and the evil. When I say school, don’t get too excited, sweet cheeks. It’s more of a prison where people are sent when they mess up, and not everyone is here for the right reasons.

I’m one of those people.

I spent almost a year keeping to myself here, trying to lay low so I could get out and stop my sister. Preferring to distance myself as I have no idea who I can trust and who is up to no good. That is until, Eva, the ice sorceress showed up. She changed everything. When she escaped, it was all upended again.

I know she will be back for me; it’s only a matter of time. But while I wait, I have to be even more careful than I was before. Jack Frost, our so-called headmaster, is on a power trip that makes evil look considerate. He thinks I can lead him to her. What he doesn’t count on is that I’d rather eat a sea anemone than lead him to my best friend.

Just when I think I have everything figured out, a blast from my past shows up and I have to navigate whole new waters. With new teachers, new friends, and possibly new enemies, who can I trust? And can I figure out who is friend and who is foe before it’s too late?

*This is a reverse harem that include explicit sexual content that is not suitable for young audiences.

Pre-order Painless by @CrystalAshBooks

Painless (Steel Demons MC Book 4)

Love is never painless.
Especially when you love dangerous men.

My heart wants the most dangerous one of all–the golden man with the beautiful smile. Gunner strikes enemies as ruthlessly as his falcon, but when it comes to us, he keeps me tortured and begging for a swift end.

He crushed me once, then kissed hope back into me. His indecision will be the slow, painful death of me. I’m done waiting. I’ll make him put me out of my misery, or pull the trigger myself.

If dealing with him wasn’t enough pain, I’m also getting my Steel Demons tattoo from Shadow.

The scarred, quiet man has been coming around to me slowly. My new cat companion is obsessed with him. If my time with the Steel Demons has taught me anything, it’s to trust the instincts of our animal guardians.

They’re intelligent. Sometimes, they even talk to us.

I don’t expect my first tattoo to be painless. But can I heal my artist from the pain he keeps locked inside?

Sons of Anarchy meets The Handmaid’s Tale in this dystopian reverse harem adventure! Painless is the fourth book in the Steel Demons MC saga. This series is full of kindle-melting steam and dangerous men who take what they want. Proceed with caution if easily offended.

Author Tabitha Barret #interview

Please give a warm welcome to

Tell us a bit about yourself

Hello, I’m Tabitha Barret, a multi-genre Romance author who writes steamy fantasy, paranormal, academy and YA books.  I live in New Jersey with my supportive husband, two opposite personality teens and four insane dogs. There’s never a dull moment.

My main focus is on reverse harem and #whychoose stories.  Admittedly, when I read Twilight, I was annoyed that Bella had to choose between two different men who loved her.  Yes, you can argue that either Edward or Jacob was the better choice, but it’s a fantasy book. If we can pretend that vampires are real and sparkle, why not indulge ourselves in the fantasy of having two very different kinds of men be part of our lives?

Have you always wanted to become an author?

When I was younger, I used to pretend that I was Wonder Woman or Batgirl and run around the house beating up bad guys.  As I got older, the role-playing stayed inside my head, even if I didn’t act it out anymore. I always had some kind of pretend world where I created different kinds of characters or lived out the lives of people from TV or movies.  I finally started writing down the story ideas in high school and actually finished a book. It was terrible, of course, and my mother thought I was crazy when she read some of it, so I put it away. When I took creative writing classes in college, I never dreamed that I would be a published author some day.  So, even though I never really decided to become an author until I was in my late thirties, I realized that I had quietly been working towards that unrealized goal. It took 4 years to complete the 1st two books in my original series.  Since then, I have been trying to hone my skills and improve my author business.

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

I’m actually working a few different books at the moment.

One of the books is a sequel to a Magic Academy anthology that was published last year.  I like doing anthologies sometimes because the theme is already set up. I just have to figure out how to write within the given perimeters.  It’s good experience and keeps me busy.

Free on Amazon

When I write an anthology story or book, I focus on the genre and the type of story I want to tell.  I play around with different scenarios and characters to figure out what will work. I’m only ready to write when I get a strong image and motivation for my character.

My Third Throne series started off with a dream about Lucifer calling to a young woman, who kills herself to be with him in Hell.  It was a simple concept that spawned years of different scenarios in my head and ultimately led to a 12 book planned series rich with Fallen Angels, hot mortals and Hades, who is fan favorite.  (I’ve published 5 books so far.)

Hallowed Woods Academy started off with a young woman running through an ally, trying to escape men in trench coats who corner her and pull out wands.  She can sometimes do strange things, but never did she believe she was a witch.

Pearl: Jewels Café # 8 – I took my side character from Hallowed Woods and gave her a book of her own.  Celeste is witch who can’t do magic and is bullied because of it. I sent her home to deal with her overbearing mother and the dark wizards who were planning to do terrible things to her family and friends.

My ideas don’t come from a scripted, planned out story.  They come from moments or scenes that play out in my head.  Once I feel that a character is strong enough, I write a story for them, or rather, her.  My main characters have all been women, so far, so I take a woman, put her in a bad situation and watch her fight her way out of it.

What are you working on now?

I have multiple works in progress: The Third Throne: Angel of Illness book 6, Hallowed Woods Academy Semester 2, Dahlia: Spell Library # 5 and Bloodlust: House of Vampires (Wicked Reform School #5)

Dahlia is part of a world building series with other authors, as is Bloodlust.  I find that when I have a deadline that’s part of series, I write faster and actually publish the book instead of procrastinating.

Dahlia is about a psychic who doesn’t want to see visions of death and mayhem, or her future breakups, but doesn’t know how to control the visions.  Something is coming for her, something dark, but she can’t see who or what it is. When an unexpected love spell calls upon her soulmates, Dahlia finds that she doesn’t have to hide who she is anymore and can focus on fighting the darkness.

Bloodlust takes place in Wicked Reform School.  The Mielcarek Coven is the prominent coven of the vampires after years of destroying any coven who opposed them.  Marianela was chosen to lead the Mielcareks upon her father’s demise, until she woke up chained to the bottom of the ocean.  She launched a campaign against her duplicitous brother in an effort to claim her throne. She’s captured by her brother’s army and sentenced to Wicked Reform, where her brother believes she can be brainwashed into loving him again and accepting a lesser role within the coven, if she survives the notorious reform school known to kill their student if they don’t redeem themselves.  Let’s just say that Marianela is a fighter who has proven herself on the battlefield and wants revenge against her brother at any cost, or so she thinks.

As you can see, in my darker stories I really like to challenge my heroines and make them work for their happy ending.

Do you have any quirks while writing?

I like to write with headphones and music to cancel out the distractions.  It helps me set the tone and mood of what I’m writing. I like epic mixes for mood and love songs or badass empowerment songs depending on what I’m writing.

I also tend to eat at my desk when I’m on a deadline, which leads to messy shirts when I drop things.  Mad geniuses don’t really care if they spilled their soda down their shirts as long as it dries fast and they can keep working.  LOL!

What are your hopes for the future?

I’m always trying to improve my technique and my editing skills.  I take marketing and ads courses to sell more books. I’m always interested in collaborations with other authors.  Though there are times when I want to quit, I have a team of people who push me to keep going and remind me why I’m doing this.  So, my future goal is to keep writing stories that interest me and find readers who want to come along with me on this journey.

Pre-order

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

Know your genre.

Be able to add something unique to your stories that makes you stand out.

NEVER self-edit your books, no matter how good you think you are.

Ask for help when you need it.  There are so many nice authors who have helped me out over the years or believed in me enough to give me a chance.

Always have someone who will read your books and give you an honest opinion about your stories.  If you want to punch them by then end, then they are your best resource to improve your book.

Finish your story.  You don’t know how many people I’ve met who say they want to be an author but can’t find the time to write or they started a book, but it’s not finished yet.  FINISH YOUR BOOK! Your first book will never be perfect. Accept it. You will always want to go back and reedit it, which you can as a self-published author.  Almost every author I know has gone back to their first book to make changes. We learn new things every year of our lives. Being an author is no different. We need improve our sentence structure and storytelling abilities if we want to be successful.  We learn from our mistakes and adapt. You will also find some flaw in your previous books because as human we are always growing and maturing.

Believe in yourself or no one else will.

Do you have anything to say to your readers?

I love my fans!  I interact with them in my Facebook group and in anthology groups.  My two biggest fans became my editor and my writing soulmate turned PA.  Without her, most of my books would never get written on time and I would have quit six times by now.

Tell authors that you enjoy their work.  Talk about your favorite books with other readers.  That’s the best thing you can do to support the books that you love to read.

Every day I am grateful to the people who buy my books, whether or not they love them.  I’m just happy that they gave me a chance to entertain them for a little while so that they could forget about their stressful day.
