About Mila

Bestselling Author, Mila Young tackles everything with the zeal and bravado of the fairytale heroes she grew up reading about. She slays monsters, real and imaginary, like there’s no tomorrow. By day she rocks a keyboard as a marketing extraordinaire. At night she battles with her might pen-sword, creating fairytale retellings, and sexy ever after tales. In her spare time, she loves pretending she’s a mighty warrior, cuddling up with her cats, and devouring every fantasy tale she can get her pinkies on.

Have you always wanted to become an author?

I’ve been writing since I was young, but it was until I moved out of home that I realized my passion was in creating stories. It helps that my dad is also an author, so I guess the writing bug is in my blood.

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

I grew up reading everything I could get my hands on about mythology, and even completed a degree in mythology, so to be it made perfect sense that I would put what I loved in my stories.

What are you working on now?

Right now, I’m writing book 1 of my brand new series – Taking Breath. It’s a dark romance set in a near post-apocalyptic world where men outnumber females fifty to one and survival is an everyday battle. This is Caeli’s story… See cover attached.

Do you have any quirks while writing?

Hmm I always have a cup of tea and water by my desk and I can’t write without music! It’s my muse.

What are your hopes for the future?

My plans are to become a full-time writer and follow my dream to create stories every day of the week.

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

Never give up. No matter how hard things seem, take it one piece at a time and you’ll get there. Plus, network. Get out there and meet other authors, make friends, and learn.

Do you have anything to say to your fans?

That I am completely blessed to have met so many readers who adored my stories, and I always make time to speak to anyone who contacts me as I love to hear from my readers.
