Have you always wanted to become an author?

Yes! Becoming a published author was always on my list of life goals. I always figured I’d write a book on history–a study of monarchs and the ways in which they manipulated their image to control power. Something decidedly more scholarly and entirely less romantic than the stories I actually write. The stories I absolutely love to write.

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

The Rebels Series was inspired by a number of things. I think it started with a football romance I was reading, but I was craving something different. I wanted a woman who was knowledgeable about football, who loved the sport and could smack talk with the best. So I started reading about female coaches and toured the Dallas Cowboys Stadium. I studied football like it was my job, listening to people’s conversations when they discussed the game. And then Blake came to me, and her voice was so clear.

What are you working on now?

I’m finalizing Playing Defense: Book Two of the Rebels Series, and I’m excited about book three. The Rebels Series is a contemporary reverse harem sports romance with a badass main character, a team of sexy-as-hell football players, and a dash of angst.

Do you have any quirks while writing?

Hmm. I like to have background noise, but not always music. If I can’t go to a cafe to write, I turn on the Nozio app and use the “coffee shop” settings.

What are your hopes for the future?

I hope that Blake’s story, and the other stories I write, will resonate with readers. I hope they will feel inspired and entertained by the worlds I create. I hope that my words will touch them in some way.

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

Stick with it. Keep learning and striving for improvement–in your craft, your marketing, everything.
