Tell us a bit about yourself

Hello! I live near Fort Worth, TX with my husband, 2 cats and 1 dog. In addition to reading and writing, I love biking, travel, and sitting on the deck drinking coffee or tea when it rains.

Have you always wanted to become an author?

I love writing, but the idea of becoming an author always seemed like such a faraway dream. My husband was the one who encouraged me to publish. At first, I was full of so much self-doubt, it seemed impossible. But he and one of my sisters kept encouraging me until I caved and finally decided to go for it.

My husband learned how to do all the “behind the scenes” stuff so that I can focus on writing. He’s been so supportive, it’s amazing. If it weren’t for him, I’d probably still be writing fanfiction for myself.

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

The one I’m working on now is a cowrite with Jessica Grayson. It’s a fairy tale retelling series. With the crazy state of the world today, I’ve found myself drawn to fairy tales as an escape. Especially Disney movie fairy tales. So, we decided to do a series of retellings based on our favorites.

I love fairy tales, but I also love steam in my books. So, we decided to combine the two. Our fairy tales are full of love, have plenty of steam and smexy times as well as plenty of interesting twists to keep the readers guessing. We loosely follows the fairy tales, but we also wanted to make sure they could stand on their own instead of just being a rehashing of what’s already out there.

Our first one is already out on Amazon KU. It’s a Dragon Shifter Beauty and the Beast Retelling called “Taken by the Dragon.” I cannot tell you how much I fell in love with those characters while writing their story. They have a cameo in the 2nd book in the series “Captivated by the Fae: A Cinderella Retelling” that I think readers will really enjoy. 😊

What are you working on now?

I’m working on “Bound to the Elf Prince: A Snow White Retelling” with Jessica Grayson. I love Elvish Romance and I’m really enjoying fleshing out this world.

Each of the fairy tales are all in a shared world and loosely connected to each other. Characters from each story make cameos in the other books. I really love how it’s all tying together.

Do you have any quirks while working?

I have a different song that I choose as a theme song for each book. I write about 20k words/day. If I get stuck on one project, I switch to another so I can get my word count in. So, the theme song helps get me back in the head of the characters and also helps me really immerse myself in that particular world before I dive back in and start writing in it.

What are your hopes for the future?

I have a million stories in my head and I want to get them all out into the world as quickly as possible. I love writing and immersing myself in other worlds. I wake up each morning excited to begin and I can’t wait to share all these stories that I have in my head with my readers.

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

I know it’s hard, but do your best to silence the voice in your head trying to convince you that you cannot do this.

Jessica Grayson shared a quote with me that helped her with her writing process. It really inspired me as well. “I’m writing a rough draft and reminding myself that I’m simply shoveling sand into a box so that later I can build castles.”   

That is such a powerful quote. It’s also the reason I’m able to write as quickly as I can. It really helps silence my inner critic when I’m writing a rough draft so that I can produce it that much faster.

Do you have anything to say to your followers?

Thank you so much for all your support and encouragement. It means so much to me when someone messages me about how much they loved a particular story and/or the characters. These books are really close to my heart and I love knowing that people enjoy them as much as I love writing them. 😊

Tell us a bit about yourself

Well, I’m the mother of two crazy fun boys who like to keep me on my toes. Married my best friend about 10 years ago. We met online, actually, because of a book series! 

Have you always wanted to become an author?

I’ve always wanted to do something with books. It’s always been my passion. I used to spend the entire summer at the library pouring over the books. I’d take home the allotted 10 at a time and be back for more before the week was over. 

What was your inspiration for your current book/series? 

Another author friend wanted to do a shared villain theme, and I immediately thought of Hook. My love for the pirate only grew with the show Once Upon A Time and Disney Descendants—yes I love Disney, I can’t help it! I wanted to twist it up a little and have it be about his descendants. I threw in quite a few things from the original, only with a slight variation. I’m excited to see what people think or if they pick up on those additions.

What are you working on now?

Right now I’m picking my NaNo project back up and completely re-working it. I found an amazing developmental editor who is able to see my characters and their personalities, and I can’t wait to work through what I have of it! I’m also sliding back into a co-write that my other author friend and I planned almost two years ago. Life got in the way for us both, but we’ve got a planning session scheduled at the end of the month and I’m so excited!

Do you have any quirks while writing?

Hmm, well I actually sit with headphones on but I don’t actually listen to anything. It distracts me when I’m writing. 

What are your hopes for the future?

I hope to publish stories people are excited to read. I want to continue to develop my craft and grow as an author.

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

Just get the words out. You can’t edit or fix words that you don’t have.

Don’t set a publish date until you’re almost completely done.

Find your tribe. That group of people who encourage you and make you want to do more. 

Do you have anything to say to your readers?

I’ve always loved writing but hadn’t really considered becoming an author until I saw all of these amazing indie authors working hard and publishing their stories.

The Wanted was inspired by Snow White, but my current WIP is inspired by demons and succubi.

What are you working on now?

It’s a underworld political reverse harem following a sassy succubus named Shera as she navigates the rough waters of the demon hierarchy.

I like to sit on my couch and listen to Billie Eilish 😂 she inspires me.

To publish books I enjoy writing and that people will enjoy reading!

Seeing as I’m still new (first book published April 2019), I don’t have much. But I will say, you write for yourself. You probably won’t gain a huge fan base until you have a few books but if you have the passion, time, and funds don’t give up.

The first book in my SnowRose Series is Rose Red’s story. Snow White’s story will be releasing in March, entitled BAD APPLE.  “Do you have a habit of going around saving damsels in distress, Marcus?” The coy tone in her sexy voice hardens my cock even more, evidence that I’ve not been in female company for quite some time, and it’s taking its toll.

“I don’t have many women that wander into the haunted woods in need of my rescuing. Which leads to the question, what were you doing there?” I fold my arms and stare down into her eyes.

“I don’t think that’s any of your business now, is it?” The icy aftertaste of her tone stings my ears. “While I appreciate the rescue, I should get home. My sister is waiting for me and will send out a search party if I don’t return.”

“Absolutely. Once they’re dry.” I fan my arms to the fire where I’ve laid out her soaking clothes. “It’ll take hours for them to be dry enough to wear. Besides, there’s a nasty storm brewin’ outside. A bit treacherous for you to be wandering out in, alone and at night. It would be in your best interest to stay here and let it pass. You can venture home in the morning.” My eyes lock onto hers and I pour sincerity into them in hopes she’ll reconsider my offer. “I promise, come sunrise I will leave you, and you are free to go.”

She darts her gaze between me and the fireplace. I half expect her to make a mad dash for her clothes. But she doesn’t.

“And what am I to do the rest of this eve then?” Her arms fold across her chest, pinching her breasts together.

I force my eyes away from the glorious cleavage and swallow over the lump in my throat. “Well, I assume you’ll want to sleep. After all, I would imagine killing a man would take a lot out of you physically and emotionally. Not to mention the whole falling into the river and me rescuing you.”

Her eyes widen as big as saucers. “Were you stalking me?”

“Perhaps I came upon you once or twice before.” I give an aloof shrug.

Fury blazes in her dark green eyes and it lights my cock on fire even more. Damn, she’s gorgeous when she’s feisty. It takes everything in me not to devour her plump lips with my own.

“How much do you know?” She leans in, forgetting she’s naked as her protective covering falls away from her breasts.

They stare up at me from the corner of my eye, but I’m careful not to look at them for fear she’ll cover them back up. Stunning pink nipples harden at the chill in the room. My fingers ache to rub them.

“How much should I know. I’ve never met you before, Rose. You’ve come into my woods for the past month, and each time a man is with you. But you always leave alone. So, do I need to worry that you’ll add me to your collection?” Jutting my hands to the blanket on either side of her body, I press in closer to her on the bed, hovering just above her lips.

Quick breaths puff from her lips as she processes my words. Her eyes stay glued to mine in a glorious rage, and it stirs me inside to think of burying myself in that fury between her legs.

“Not unless you’re in league with Hestor. If you are, I suggest you run.” Her body inches closer to mine, the blankets falling even further down her body. The delicate soft skin of her stomach catches my eyes and I’m unable to look away.

“Hestor?” I repeat, as it’s the only word that sticks in my ears under the distraction of her curves.

“Are you not familiar with the dwarf sorcerer?” she asks.

“Oh. On the contrary, I’m quite familiar with Hestor. The question is, why do you seek him out?” My gaze turns back to her.

“Like what you see?” She tilts her head and swipes her lips with her tongue. “It’s yours if you lead me to him.”

I shake my head. “You truly must think me a fool if you proposition me so, dear Rose. I know that’s what you offer the targets in your game. You tease them with the reward of your body, yet you get them alone in the woods and take their lives. You cannot seduce me in this way.”

“Am I repulsive to you?” her voice notches up an octave.

“You, Rose Red are the most beautiful woman I’ve ever had the pleasure to lay my eyes upon. But I think you should know our interest in Hestor may be of a similar nature and perhaps we could strike a deal.” I ease off her and fold my arms.

“What do you want with him? His magicks are dark and bring only evil.” Her blazing eyes darken, studying me with intent.

I lean in, pressing my chest against hers as I hover above her face. “I have my reasons, as I know you do yours. They are not of your concern. What we both agree on is that he must be eliminated. No?”

“Your towel seems to have come lose,” she whispers.

My brow quirks. “How would you know?” I think she’s trying to distract me, but I won’t fall for her games. “Your eyes haven’t left mine.”

“Because I’m the one who loosened it.” Her warm hand wraps around my cock, forcing a gasp from my lungs. My head yells at me to jump back, but the sensation of her fingers gripping tight to my flesh wipe all logical thought from my mind. I make the mistake of glancing down, aching to watch her hand stroke my length. It’s the last thing I see before she knocks me cold.
