💥 Claimed by the Gods 💥

by Eva Chase

The gods walk among us. And they just might steal your soul… or your heart.

I thought I’d survived everything life could throw at me. All I wanted was to keep my distance from the criminals I work for and get my little brother out of the hell that is our mother’s house.

Then I died and woke up to four stunningly hot gods telling me I’m now a valkyrie.

Sly, sharp Loki. Jovial but ferocious Thor. Dreamily compassionate Baldur. Grim and secretive Hod. They all have something to teach me. And around them, my walls start to crack.

But the gods didn’t summon me just for kicks. Their king is missing, and they need me to find him. The first three valkyries they sent on the job never made it back.

More power is awakening in me than I could ever have imagined—and the gods’ enemies are more devious than even they knew. It’s going to take every trick in the book for me to save myself, my brother, and these divine men who’re getting under my skin in the most alluring way.

I’m Aria Watson, and Valhalla ain’t seen nothing yet.

*Claimed by Gods is the first full-length novel in a medium-burn reverse harem urban fantasy series. This action-packed, heart-wrenching ride gives you a kickass heroine, four irresistible gods, and Norse mythology like you’ve never seen it before.*

🔧 Hijinks Harem 🔧

Tate James & CM Stunich

Four hunky, supernatural plumbers.

One reluctant, slightly drunk human.

A match made in heaven … or in the bathroom, rather.

My name is Arizona Smoke, and I’m the proud owner of a house haunted by my dead Gram, best friend to a cocktail dress loving werewolf, and apparent soul mate to four plumbers who also happen to be elemental dragons. Besides rippling pectorals, tattoos, and … uh, nice, long pipes, the guys also have control of the elements.

Supernatural law (whoever heard of such a thing anyway?) dictates that since I stumbled upon the guys in their alternate forms, I have to marry them. All four of them. Oh, and apparently one lousy (okay, awesome) night of sex means that I’m an elemental, too—and no amount of magical penicillin can cure this disease.

All I wanted was hot running water and toilets that flushed, but now I’m dealing with monsters lurking in the sewers, supernatural politics, and four penniless (but totally hot) plumbers living in my crumbling old Victorian.

I’m Ari Smoke, wine aficionado, ex-barista, and a girl who is completely out of her element.

Having four hot husbands is nice … but the death threats, not so much.

ELEMENTS OF MISCHIEF is a full-length comedic paranormal, reverse harem romance. This means our leading lady has four male love interests (or more!) and doesn’t have to choose between them. This book is full of steamy sex, ridiculous plumbing puns, and heaps of action, intrigue, and … well, more puns.

It turns out; I have what they want. Special abilities. And trust me, these abilities are coveted–and dangerous. Now, I don’t know who to trust or where to go. Peril lurks on every corner as I try to uncover my past and origin. Teaming up with unlikely allies may be my only chance at survival or my biggest mistake. Only time will tell.

I’m Kit Davenport and this is only the beginning.

Eva Chase’s Minions of Magic

Author Miki Ward #interview

Please give a warm welcome to author Miki Ward Tell us a bit about yourself

I’m older than most of the authors that I’m friends with and am a grandmother. That’s actually a plus because I use my fantastic grandchildren as inspiration and ask them lots of questions about teens and young people’s behavior. I grew up in Carlsbad, NM, a small town in the dead middle of nowhere. It was a close-knit community and close to the Carlsbad Caverns also great inspiration for the books that I write with my brother Garrett Ward. Living in a small town we had to find stuff to do for fun and once… do you know that scene in Footloose when the female lead jumped from one moving truck to anther? They copied me. I really did that, and it was easy, again great inspiration. I’m married to a wonderful man who loves me so much I never have to question it. I’ve been a carhop, a fountain girl, a secretary, a welder, a quality control engineer, a non-destructive testing inspector, and a lead nuclear auditor. Now I have my dream job as an author. I’m not perfect and work on myself constantly. One thing I really like to do is build others up and I try hard to remember to do that instead of thinking of myself all the time.

°

°

Have you always wanted to become an author?

Since I was in junior high and read SE Hinton. My brothers and I used to say constantly as kids we should write the stuff we made up down, yet never did until we got older.

°

°

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

Like most of my books it is based on my own experiences and family life. Many of the things in those stories are something we’ve seen first-hand or heard from passed down stories. In fact, all of our stories have a lot of real experiences in them just changed to fit in the story lines.

°

°

What are you working on now?

Four different books at once. Our Shivers series is about teens facing the paranormal and we have finished the first draft of book two and are cleaning it up for the editor. It won’t publish until September if it is still acceptable for Covey Publishing to be added to the Falling for Them anthology. I’m also finishing a short story for my own anthology called Celebration of Love. It will publish for the fourth of July and includes two wonderful new authors and a couple that are seasoned. The third is the third book in our Ceorfan Gargoyles Series called Hewn. I’m just getting into it and it will take me a while to finish. The last is a surprise anthology that I have a story I cowrote with another author friend.

°

°

Do you have any quirks while writing?

I go to bed thinking of the book I’m on and dream about it. Then I get up and write the chapters I dreamed with lots of coffee and music.

°

°

What are your hopes for the future?

I have so many, but writing has changed my little brother’s life I want to keep him busy. He finds purpose in our writing. Also, if I can touch just one person and make them have a better day or rest and if they remember to love themselves I’ll be happy.

°

°

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

So much! Do your own thing and don’t pattern yourself after anyone else, be original, and write what you know. Yes, you will need examples and mentors but be yourself. When you get a nasty review understand that the reader is usually writing about themselves. If they have had a circumstance that makes them hate chocolate and your whole book is about chocolate and they say they hated it, that comes from their own likes and really has little to do with you. There are a few reviewers who see art for art and gauge that way if they say something you can learn from use it, but the fact is you can’t please everyone. Everyone has different tastes and it’s best not to let a bad review hurt you. Rant at me for a while if you need a shoulder until you get over it. If you like your book that’s what counts. The more you write the bigger your writing muscles will be. One more thing don’t be afraid to try something new. It might surprise you that you enjoy something you didn’t think you would.

°

°

Do you have anything to say to your readers?

I say it in my books and I mean it. You are my prize. You prop me up constantly when I need a lift. I love you and pray for you all. One day maybe I can meet a few of you in person and tell you, ‘Wings Up!’

Author Misty Malloy #interview

Please give a warm welcome to author Misty Malloy

Tell us a bit about yourself?

My name’s Misty and my favorite things are wine, chocolate, and cheese! I’m a snack-a-holic and can be bribed to do pretty much anything for those delicious Tostitos lime chips. (I’ve officially banned them from the house…they are so good, but so, so evil!) I also frequently sing along to old school hip hop in my car.

Have you always wanted to become an author?

When I was a kid, I used to write tons of stories. My first story was about a snake, Rambo, and Santa Claus…it was pretty weird! I ended up becoming a biologist and teaching science, and I used to joke with my colleagues that I’d be writing romance soon. So…here I am today!

°

°

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

My current series is The Orestaia Series. A lot of my writing inspiration comes from places I’ve traveled. This series takes place in Prague, Sedona, and Vis Island in Croatia…three of my favorite places in the world! I also include parts of the Croatian language in my books, since that’s where my family is from.

What are you working on now?

I just finished the third book in The Orestaia Series, and have some plans for a new fantasy reverse harem trilogy. Dragons and a kick-ass heroine! I’m still plotting everything out, but more info to come soon!

°

°

Do you have any quirks while writing?

It’s not really a quirk, but I love writing in the evenings with a glass of wine. (Not editing, though…editing with wine is never good!)

What are your hopes for the future?

I’m hoping to crank out some badass books! And also to meet Jon Snow in person, please.

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

Just keep writing! (I’m still trying to figure it all out, too!)

Do you have anything to say to your readers?

Thanks so much for reading my books! I’m so appreciative of all of you!

Author Reese Copeland #interview

Please give a warm welcome to author Reese Copeland

Tell us a bit about yourself

Hey yall! I’m Reese! I’m 26 recently married and I live in Arkansas with my husband, my cranky cat and a suspiciously creaky house. I love gardening, cooking and collecting crystals. My favorite color is sage green and I’m allergic to avocados and I’m really sad about it lol. #RIPGuacamole.

°

°
Have you always wanted to become an author?

I have! I used to be really shy and ghostwrite for others for fear of being judged for my overactive imagination. I only recently got the confidence to step out of the shadows and I’m so excited!

°

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

So Winds of Change came about after way too many glasses of wine and a Lord of the Rings marathon. An I began thinking why should all the main characters be boys?! Look at Xena she’s a total badass and she never NEEDED a male lead for jack squat! The more I thought about it the madder I got lol and then I watched Harry Potter and snapped! Hermione is a total hero I would read a series based around her. So Bela and her story were created.

°

°

What are you working on now?

Oh man, soooo many things! Haha, I can never stick to just one. I’m working on an awesome cowrite for the summer with some of my writer besties. I’ve just launched a business to help new and established authors with their business/admin side of thing. It’s called Writers Guide to Freedom and I’m super excited about it! The next Hearts of Solara is on my radar and the outline is basically writing itself. I’ve also explored some spinoffs for the series! So please if you have ideas or suggestions let me know, I am always looking for inspiration.

°

°

Do you have any quirks while writing?

Ha! I feel like I’m a walking quirk. I do my best writing when House Hunters International is playing in the background, and I’ve got a great playlist blaring. I know that sounds odd and my husband is always like how can you possibly concentrate. But for some reason, it works! Like, I can’t hear myself think really so the words just flow out of me.

°

°

What are your hopes for the future?

I just want to be one person’s favorite author, that’s enough for me. If I can help the indie community to become more respected that’d be awesome too! I’m always looking forward to the future, that the best part about the future, there is always something more to look forward too!

°

°

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

Ooh ok, two things:

1. Write and create for you. I don’t care if the story has been done a bazillion times. If you have a story to tell..tell it! No one is going to tell it quite like you, so just write for you! Don’t worry about what the audience may say or your peers. You do you boo!

°

2. Take your time researching and vetting the members of your team, whether they be you PA. publisher, editor, ANYONE who has anything to do with your brand needs to be vetted by more than just word of mouth. If you don’t feel comfortable looking into business and people in depth, check out Writers Guide to Freedom. We’ll handle the real world while you create the story.

°

°

Do you have anything to say to your readers?

I am so grateful for each and every one of you! I hope that you’ve found a little of Vika’s bravery, Bela’s heart and Helena’s strength inside of you. Thank you for taking this ride with me, I cannot wait to see where we go next.

Tell us a bit about yourself

°

I’m Canadian but have traveled to lots of other countries. I love writing fantasy and paranormal stories because it’s so much fun imagining a world beyond the ordinary one we live in. And I have TONS of ideas, so no matter what I’m working on, I’ve always got a bunch more at various stages begging to be picked next. 🙂

°

Have you always wanted to become an author?

°

I’ve always loved telling stories. It wasn’t until I was in high school that I started getting praise from teachers and friends for my writing, and I realized that maybe I was good enough to make a go of it as a career.

°

°

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

°

My current series (the first book, A Study In Seduction, coming at the end of March) started a few years back when I was watching the TV show Elementary. It’s a modern adaptation of the Sherlock Holmes stories, and they had a great twist where (spoilers if you haven’t watched the show) the villain Moriarty turns out to be a woman.

I loved the idea of a female criminal genius–it’s not a type of character I see much at all, even though there are tons of beloved male characters of questionable morality who are admired for their smarts and wit. I’ve been toying with the idea of either writing my own take on a female Moriarty or a different female villain for a while, and this past year, the other pieces finally started coming together.

°

What are you working on now?

°

I’m nearly finished with the second book in the Moriarty’s Men series. I haven’t yet decided whether I’m going to jump right into the third or alternate with another series to switch things up. Like I mentioned above, I have a lot of ideas yammering at me for attention. 😉

°

°

Do you have any quirks while writing?

°

I always write on my laptop. I do most of my other computer activity on my desktop computer (which is where I’m answering this interview right now), but I’ve had a laptop for writing since I was a teenager, and something about sitting down with one gets my head in the right mindset.

I also make up iTunes playlists for most of my books and use the music as inspiration when I’m brainstorming or gearing up to write.

°

What are your hopes for the future?

°

I’d just love to be able to continue making a living from my writing! It really is a dream come true, and I feel incredibly lucky that I’ve been able to tell stories so many readers are enjoying. I’m also looking forward to future travels with my family and sharing all my favorite books with my son as he gets older.

°

°

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

°

I think the best advice I could give right now is to be patient. Take your time studying books you love to figure out what makes a good story. Take the time to get feedback from other people to improve your writing. Watch reader reactions to books and figure out what they’re most interested in seeing. Study the kinds of covers and blurbs that successful books have.

It can feel very urgent when you have a story you’re dying to tell–you want to get it out there ASAP. But you’ll have a much better chance of telling that story effectively and getting it to the most readers if you wait a little and learn the best approaches rather than jumping straight in.

°

Do you have anything to say to your fans?

°

So, so many thank yous! There’s very little in the world that makes me happier than seeing that I’ve made other people happy with my stories. I’m so grateful to every one of you who’s picked up my books and especially those who spread the word about them!

Author R.A. Steffan #interview

Please give a warm welcome to author R.A. Steffan

Tell us a bit about yourself

°

I’m a forty-something ex-rancher living in flyover country in the US Midwest. For the last few years, I’ve been city bound—living in a midsized college town where I’m illegally keeping ducks in the backyard, so I don’t go completely insane from lack of critters.

Have you always wanted to become an author?

°

Not at all. I started writing fanfiction in 2005 for personal enjoyment, and branched out to ghostwriting and non-fiction content creation a few years later to supplement my income. I published my first series professionally in 2015. (It was a commercial disaster, and remains deeply buried in red ink to this day.)

With my ranch gone, and deeply disillusioned by a series of back-breaking, low-paying shift jobs, I told my husband in early 2016 that I would be writing as a full-time living within eighteen months. He scoffed at the assertion.

In his defense, it took me twenty months of working 100+ hours per week, not eighteen. But, ever since March of 2018, here I am, a full-time writer.

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

°

That’s a trick question—I currently have three active series going. (Side note to aspiring writers: never, ever do this. NOT EVER. Trust me on this one.)

Anyway, the inspiration for the Love and War sci-fi romance series is the current slow march toward extremism in the western world. It’s a cautionary tale about the manipulation of a populace into an “us” versus “them” mentality, and how easy it is for that kind of xenophobia to morph into acts of unspeakable brutality and evil… as we see every day in the news from around the world.

The inspiration for my second active series, The Eburosi Chronicles, is the beauty of inclusivity and understanding when it comes to love. Love has the power to heal, and I firmly believe that consuming media in which love is portrayed as beautiful and desirable in all its forms can help people bring some of that beauty and tolerance into their own lives.

The Eburosi Chronicles is the umbrella series for The Horse Mistress, The Lion Mistress, and The Dragon Mistress story arcs, which follow various members of an adoptive family in a fictional Bronze Age culture across a span of decades. The current arc in progress, The Dragon Mistress, deals with a misfit group of renegades coming together to save the last five dragons in existence from powerful forces that would see them wiped out forever.

Finally, the inspiration for The Last Vampire (co-written with Jaelynn Woolf) was my love for big, sprawling, intricate book series that span the divide between Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance. (We market ours as “urban fantasy romance.”)

°

What are you working on now?

°

Right now I’m diving into Anthelion: Love and War, Book 4, which is the second-to-last installment of the sci-fi romance series. I expect this book will garner mixed reviews, to put it mildly, since the protagonists are gay and the couples in the other books were all heterosexual.

Mind you, it’s not like I didn’t make it pretty obvious from the beginning that this was coming, but I’ll still be interested to see the response. There seems to be only a vanishingly small amount of M/M sci-fi romance available, and what’s there mostly follows the male pregnancy trope (which mine doesn’t). I’m not at all sure why that is.

°

Do you have any quirks while writing?

°

Eh, probably. I’m afraid I couldn’t say what they are, though, beyond the fact that I need quiet to write. Since we live in a tiny house, and my writing time usually overlaps time when my husband is home from work—playing video games or watching TV—I seem to spend an awful lot of hours with earbuds blasting white noise in my ears.

I have absolutely no clue how writers who go to coffee shops or cafes to write can manage to get anything done.

What are your hopes for the future?

°

I dream of a day when being a full-time writer/publisher isn’t a constant source of panic, stress, and worry. Will the next book flop? (Answer: if it’s not about vampires, then yes, it will flop. I can only sell vampires. The other two series are merely self-indulgence on my part—a very expensive hobby.)

Will Amazon or Facebook or some other platform I rely on suddenly change their algorithms, causing my sales to plummet to nothing overnight? (Answer: it’s happened to writers before, so… maybe.)

Do people like my work? Am I good enough? Is the last book-related decision I made hopelessly wrong? Will it destroy my business? And so on and so forth.

Fun with anxiety and clinical depression, basically. Both very common conditions among artistic types, or so I hear.

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

°

If you’re writing genre fiction, indie publishing is the way to go. Traditional publishing may still be a viable option for literary fiction and poetry.

Before you do anything else, ask yourself what your goals are. If the goal is artistic expression, write what you want and enjoy yourself to the fullest, but be aware that publishing probably won’t be a gateway to untold riches. If the goal is to make a comfortable living, put aside your ego and write what readers want to read. Produce it quickly and with good quality, market it professionally, and treat the venture like the business it is.

If what you want to write and what readers want to read happen to overlap, then understand how lucky you are and embrace that opportunity with your entire being.

°

Do you have anything to say to your readers?

°

Thank you—especially those of you who read the books I write because I’m passionate about them, rather than because they pay the bills. I wouldn’t be here without you.

Author Ophelia Bell #interview

Please give a warm welcome to author Ophelia Bell

Tell us a bit about yourself

My name is Ophelia Bell and I am a dragon addict. Especially steamy hot dragons who live on orgasms and are always down for dirty fun 😀

I’ve been writing super steamy paranormal menage and reverse harem romance since 2014. Dragon shifters feature heavily in my world, which you can get acquainted with by reading my “Sleeping Dragons” series. It’s a mix of fantasy/contemporary. “Lara Croft meets Eragon” is the best way to describe my first series.

My newest series, “Fate’s Fools” is a more urban-fantasy themed spinoff, set in the same world, but just as steamy as all the others!

Have you always wanted to become an author?

I used to want to be an architect, but that didn’t quite pan out. Now I design and build entire universes inside my head and share them with the world.

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

“Fate’s Fools” is actually a spinoff of my “Immortal Dragons” series, which is a spinoff of my “Rising Dragons” series, which is a spinoff of my flagship “Sleeping Dragons” series. I pretty much keep coming up with new ideas in this world. In Immortal Dragons, one of the heroines (from “Dragon Guardian”) gives birth to a very special baby who grows to adulthood in the span of a day. I wanted to write her story.

What are you working on now?

Finishing up the final book in my new series. “Nobody’s Fool” is book Five of Fate’s Fools and focuses on Ozzie North’s relationship with the heroine. For readers who have followed me for a while, this character’s HEA is way overdue. He first appeared in “Dragon Blues,” Book One of my Immortal Dragons series and has been screwed over by Fate for way too long.

°

Do you have any quirks while writing?

I usually use my sex scenes as the “reward” for working my way through the boring parts (i.e. the plot). I love writing sex scenes the most 😀

°

°

What are your hopes for the future?

To have bajillions of adoring fans around the world! More realistically, I hope that I can continue to write deliciously dirty books well into my old age, and that my loyal readers keep reading to support me into retirement.

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

Life is too short not to write what truly makes your heart sing. It’s the packaging that will ultimately sell the book, but readers who come back for more will do so because of what’s inside, and if your heart isn’t in it THEY KNOW.

Do you have anything to say to your fans?

You are the wind beneath my wings!

Please give a warm welcome to author

°

Tell us a bit about yourself

I live in a small town, spending most of my time reading fantasy romance and sneaking writing time in after my little one falls asleep.

°

Have you always wanted to become an author?

No. I had no idea it was even an option for me until about 5years ago. I’ve wrote my entire life. It was always just a fun hobby but I’m so happy it’s become such a major part of my life now.

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

The To Tame a Shifter series was inspired by my obsession with magic and mystical beasts. I wanted something where amazing creatures, hidden magic, and of course complicated romance, came together in a new way.

Do you have any quirks while writing?

I dont have quirks while writing but when I’m not writing, character dialogue builds in my mind to the point that I’m not even listening to what’s happening around me. The characters can be kind of demanding sometimes.

What are your hopes for the future?

I hope my future is just as it is now. I hope that I can continue writing these flawed but beautiful characters and all the fantasy realms inside my mind.

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

My advice would be to keep going. I spent 3years writing my first book. I wrote the second one in just 3 months. Keep going. It gets easier.

Do you have anything to say to your fans? I love my fans! They’re the best part of my day some days. They mean the world to me❤
