Dani Black PA – Editor #interview

Please give a warm welcome to

Tell us a bit about yourself

I am currently a stay at home mom. I have 6 kids, 2 of my own and 4 stepchildren. I love to read. When I am in a book slump I try to beat my own records of reading. HP in under 19 hours. GoT in about 36. I am a PA, editor, and make some graphics. I live on energy drinks, aka jet fuel. And believe pineapple belongs in drinks, not pizza.

°

How long have you been a PA and editor?

I have been a PA for about 3 months. An editor for 2. But I worked for the government where I edited letters, memos, orders, and requests for about 6 years.

°

Have you always wanted to be a PA or editor?

I have not. Although it is a good fit for me, being a PA, because I like making people’s lives easier.

°

What do you do as a PA? As an editor?

As a PA, I find, schedule, and run takeovers. I manage ARC and BETA groups. I promo the books. I look for NL swaps. As an editor, I try to make the authors books look and feel pretty. I make things flow and be consistent.

Dani animated the cover.

°

Do you have any quirks while working?

I have to have energy drinks and usually chips, unless my kids steal those. When I edit I listen to loud music in my headphones.

°

What are your hopes for the future?

I hope to expand my services and do more for my authors, PA wise. As an editor, I hope to one day be in a major publishing house.

°

Do you have any advice for new PA’s or editors?

For PAs, be friendly and outgoing. For editors, be confident and consistent. For both, don’t be scared to ask for help!

°

Are you available for new work or booked solid?

I am pretty booked for PA, but would try to help someone out if they really needed it. Editing, I will always take a book, negotiate the price, and keep my week guarantee.

°

I don’t have any links, but I have two logos. I made the phoenix and Mallory Kent made me the eye.
