The Ascended: A PNR, Academy, Why Choose Romance by Serena Akeroyd

In a world where witches hate the Fae, Gabriella has just broken the borders between the races wide open…

Gabriella is a bad witch. Well, she’s not evil, she just sucks at magic, and when she turns eighteen, the unthinkable happens: she grows a pair of wings.

Human born Fae are nothing new. An oddity to be sure, but witch born Fae?

They’re a whole other ball of wax.

When she’s summoned to the Eight Wings Academy at twenty-five, the doo-dah hits the fan as harsh truths are revealed to her about the Fae. But no matter how hard Gabriella tries to flunk, to escape a society forged on lies, she can’t do it.

And it isn’t because she’s a brilliant student, either.

She sucks. Hard.

Something, or someone, is making sure she passes, keeping her at the Academy against her will, ensuring she heads straight into the warrior caste and into a troupe with three other Fae.

Except her troupe?

They just happen to be her Virgo—her fated mates.

And where Virgo are concerned, they have the final say on whether she claims them or not.

She’s FAELING FOR THEM, but can she convince them she’s a good catch? When she knows, point blank, she isn’t…?

This is the complete Eight Wings Collection. Formerly published as Faeling For Them, Faeling Hard, and Finally Faeling.

Storms of Blackwood by Elle Middaugh

Alexis Ravenel: Peasant. Princess. Pawn.

As a peasant, I was forced to work the jewel mines in order to survive. My life was hard, but my worries were few: affording food to eat, and keeping my pet sloth out of harm’s way. But when a chance encounter with a stranger concludes with me obtaining the power of the gods, suddenly my whole world changes.

When the Storm King finds out—and trust me, he always finds out—he plans to make me a princess by marrying me off to one of his four sons. Which doesn’t really seem like too bad of a thing…at first. After all, the Storm Princes are sexy as sin, rich, confident, and built like the very gods themselves.

But nothing is as simple as it seems, and the luxurious life of the Blackwood royals is nothing but a nightmare I cannot wake up from… and neither can the princes. They grew up knowing and resenting this fact, but I had to find out the hard way…

In the Kingdom of Blackwood, we are all just pawns in the Storm King’s wicked game.

Fast burn, RH, paranormal romance. 18+

Dark Fae Academy Series by G. Bailey & Scarlett Snow

My fate is in the dark,
And my shadow there is real…

That girl is Corvina Charles, a powerful Shadowborn—a human who touched dark magic and became something else.

Something dangerous.

At the age of eighteen, Corvina and her best friend are swept away to the Shadowborn Academy, the one place where magic and darkness coincide.

It’s also where pupils go missing, teachers don’t play by any rules, the therapist is hot, and boys with dark magic love to seduce your soul.

With death becoming a game at the academy that not even the Dark or Light Fae seem capable of winning, my love life should really be the last thing on my mind…especially when one of the boys just so happens to be my teacher!

Shadowborn Academy is a Dark Reverse Harem Paranormal Fae Romance for 18+. In this world, not even the shadows can be trusted…

Grimmstead Academy by Candace Wondrake

When offered a position at the obscure Grimmstead Academy, I jump on it. It’s not that I’m running from my past, it’s just…well, some things are better left forgotten.

An academy for lost souls and criminals? Not exactly what I signed up for, but as I’m about to learn, once you step within the halls of Grimmstead, you can never leave. As the days wear on, I find out that no one is innocent here. Not me, not the ruggedly attractive headmaster, and certainly not its dangerous, handsome students.

Me coming to Grimmstead was like a lamb running into a den of lions, only these lions are just as likely to attack each other as they are me. Mysteries lie within the heart of Grimmstead Academy, and I just might be the key to it all.

The walls of Grimmstead are painted with three things.

Depravity.

Insanity.

And blood.

If you can’t trust your own mind, who can you trust?

RH trilogy. There is graphic violence in this book, along with steamy scenes.

Her Reverse Genus by Adell Ryan

Fear. Friendship. Betrayal. Lust. Hate. Passion. Despair.

Near future, light Sci-Fi Reverse Harem Romance with a speculative spin on fated mates and a corrupt government hellbent on keeping them separated!

My name is Thessaly, and at 22, I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up. Living with my parents, going to college, and hanging out with friends is pretty much the extent of my mediocre life. The biggest drama I have going on with me is fighting a growing attraction toward my best friend Bram. Oh and avoiding needles–specifically ones that draw my blood.

See, on January 27, 2044, the DNA Networking Act was set into action. This new law provides those in authority to gather genetic information from citizens in an effort to achieve nationwide resistance to diseases and other weaknesses. Sounds promising, right?

Maybe. But to me, it infringes on a person’s freedom. The act prohibits citizens from declining to undergo genetic testing when summoned, and the deadline for everyone to voluntarily submit a DNA sample is fast approaching. I’m avoiding the process as long as possible.

Until one night the unthinkable happens: I’m ruthlessly abducted. Bleeding is no longer voluntary… it’s a requirement. And as it turns out, the four guys who captured me aren’t anything like I expected.

The Red Masques by M. Sinclair

No one in our family had come from an easy life. From foster care to forming the Ravens at our small Boston college, the concept of danger had never been one we turned away from. Instead, we took it upon ourselves to serve as the lawless justice system on campus to stop unnecessary deaths from the distribution of laced drug products.

Why? Because of her. Because her death could have been stopped. That was why we formed the Ravens.

So what has changed? My boys have always been protective but now I felt as though there was a secret standing between us. As we begin to receive tips about the Letters, questions start to plague my mind. What have the boys been hiding from me? Why is my sister, Lucida, never around anymore?

Urban Fantasy RH* Our badass characters swear a lot. As well, please be advised that the book contains darker themes including assault, PTSD, and violence. Additionally, sexual themes are suitable for mature audiences +18.

NOLA Wars by Caia Daniels & April Canavan

STEAMY RH Dystopian Urban Fantasy

Ella Monroe has only one goal in life. To survive. Trapped in a world that’s been taken over, Ella is reminded daily of everything that she has lost because of the Vepar. Powerful and seductive, the three Vepar make clear they will stop at nothing to possess her. Unable to escape, Ella is plunged into their dangerous and secretive world, where everything is more than it seems. Ella doesn’t know what the future holds as their prisoner, but one thing is for sure. Their obsession knows no bounds…

Chronicles of Arcana by Debbie Cassidy

If Buffy and Angel could have banged without him going all evil, then we would have had Wilomena Bastion.

Dragons suck, like literally suck the life out of you if you let them. Trick is not to look them directly in the eyes, like ever. So, the day Wila finds herself staring into the most dangerous Draconi’s pretty, emerald peepers, she knows she’s royally fucked.

No one said saving a bunch of kids from being served up as treats to the dragon liege was going to be easy. Options are limited—immediate execution or servitude, and Wila prefers to have her head remain firmly on her shoulders.

Now, the self-professed dark avenger must work to bring down a resistance of demons hell-bent on making life difficult for the dragon liege. And, if that wasn’t bad enough, her new position comes with a partner, the dragon liege’s favoured demon enforcer; a creature of fire, fury and washboard abs who—let’s face it—is just gonna cramp her style.

With the help of a ghostly receptionist, a talking dog and the thing that lives in the basement, Wila will be forced to take on a most dangerous task. Add a dragon prince, a sexy troll blood and a billionaire mage into the mix, and things are about to get even more complicated. It looks like some serious brooding is on the menu, because for the first time in forever, Wila isn’t sure she’s up to the job.

A city filled with monsters needs a woman who can kick ass, and Wilomena Bastion is just the gal for the job.

A kick-ass Urban Fantasy with a slow burn Whychoose Romance.

Forsaken Hope by Ellabee Andrews

I don’t fear the walking dead like most people, but that may be because I grew up playing Red Rover with them. Once they begin to decay, they’re not very fast, but they’re guaranteed to break through the clenched fists of the other team when they run through them. Sometimes they break those fists off completely.

When you’ve watched a dead man do the chicken dance upon your order, it’s hard to take them seriously. So death is the one thing I don’t fear. Not when the living are more terrifying.

I grew up with a certain set of rules that my dads and mom instilled inside of me. 1. Always be aware of my surroundings. 2. When shit hits the fan, stay calm and keep a cool head. And 3. Never reveal my secrets. Keep them guarded closely or risk the interest of those that would seek to use my power for their own gain.

Those rules used to be easy. They were what I lived and breathed. That was until I met Nate. Ever since I fell into his dark eyes, nothing has been the same. Four years have passed, and guarding my secrets has only become more difficult, especially when I have the world’s biggest crush on my boss and have grown as close as family to the crew I work with day in and out.
Yet even though guilt is a bitter pill I swallow each time I lie to my crew to cover up some oddity of mine that’s surfaced, it’s what must be done.

And I could have continued to do so. The dead don’t tell my secrets, so confiding in them is cathartic, until everything changes, and everything I thought I knew is tested.
You see, dealing with the living is tough, but the problem with the dead, is that sometimes, they don’t stay dead.

This is an 18+ slow burn Whychoose novel.

Please give a warm welcome to authors Athena Phoenix & Caia Daniels

Tell us a bit about yourself

CaiAthena is an ambitious word whorder who loves to flirt with deadlines. That aside, I’m also a hopeless romantic. Daniel is also a hopeless romantic, who knows that Love is the way for everything. I also love flirting with deadlines, because look how sexy they are, would you? (See? Daniel’s got a much better sense of humor than me! -CaiAthena. I can be a bit too serious at times, and Daniel knows how to lighten me up! Together, we use our own ‘second chance love story,’ inspiring us to give HEA’s to our characters. We love writing urban fantasy and especially contemporary erotic romance like our ongoing Boys of Summer series which includes all standalone stories that do not need to be read together, although if you do read them all, you get more insight into Madame Summerlan West!

Most importantly, Daniel and I write love stories that celebrate love, so we take pride in writing with a pro-feminist message, and creating badass leading ladies who never need to be saved and who have the power to heal and to save the world all by themselves. We also love writing outside the box relationships such as Poly, Ménage and RH, as well as featuring diverse characters including LGBTQ, characters of color and those with rich or diverse backstories to tell. #LoveIsLove, and only love can save the world, as Wonder Woman once said, therefore all our stories at their core are about how love heals us in whatever shape it takes in our lives.

Have you always wanted to become an author?

CaiAthena: I’ve always been a storyteller, but I came into authorhood a little late. I started out wanting to write for magazines, then looked into working in acquisitions for a publishing houses. Eventually, I had this story idea that just wouldn’t go away. That’s when my entire life changed. My story was finally ready to be written, so I wrote it. Coincidentally, it’s also when Daniel and I were reunited… he read my book, flew across the country to visit me again for the first time in 20 years, and the rest is history. Daniel: I’ve found that I tend to teach people things, often without realizing it. For me, it’s about relating things I know to others in a way they can comprehend, and hopefully with heart. I started flirting with writing (I’m such a flirt!) a couple of years before I found CaiAthena again, but never really buckled down to finish anything. Mostly because I didn’t know how. She taught me many things about writing and convinced me to start co-writing with her. The rest is history. And our future! ♡

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

I’m currently writing the Clash of Queens series. My inspiration was a combination of my disgust with the current state of the world and the greediness of some humans. As a former teacher, we taught ‘The Most Dangerous Game’ about an ex-military man who got bored with hunting large game, so he moved on to hunting people. My ‘what if’ came when I got into the Fated Mates set and was charged with writing a shifter book. I thought ‘what if these trophy hunters got bored and started hunting shifters? It seemed like the ultimate game to me, and that’s where the premise of Clash of Queens was born. I also am saddened by the state of female relationships in the world. We should be lifting each other up but instead, most woman consider each other ‘competition’ and that’s where the title, ‘Clash of Queens’ plays in. What if multiple women were all queens in their own right, but had differing agendas and thoughts on what it means to lead an army or a species of people? That led into creating Arcadia, the heroine of my story. And I love her!

°

°

°

What are you working on now?

As I’m a habitual word whorder, so I always have multiple projects in progress. In addition to writing as Athena Phoenix, I also co-write with my husband Daniel as Caia Daniels. We’re co-writing quite a few projects in the coming year, and those are all in the planning stages. They include an Urban Fantasy dystopian series called NOLA Wars with April Canavan, a series that’s dear to my heart about an extinct line of wolf shifters to be co-written with the amazing Carmen Fox, and of course, Daniel and I are always writing Boys of Summer stories as well as our PNR series about the mother of all humanity. That series will be our career shaker, and I cannot wait to get it all written and published… so stay tuned!

°

°

Do you have any quirks while writing?

CaiAthena: Lately, I have to ‘go under’ as I say by jamming out to music with my headphones in. And I have to have a drink, or I’ll die. Other than that, trying to fend off needy children (I have two teenagers and a 9-year old with Autism) is my side job. Daniel: I bring her many drinks!

°

°

What are your hopes for the future?

CaiAthena: I hope to be writing full time by the time my youngest daughter graduates HS. My bucket list is to find an agent, a publisher, and maybe become a spec writer for a publisher. And to make the NYT bestseller list with a solo title. Other than that, I ‘might’ pursue an MFA in creative writing so I can teach college or perhaps just offer writing courses and seminars online somehow. Maybe write craft books, too. Daniel: I hope to become good enough to only need light editing, instead of hoping CaiAthena doesn’t hate me by the end of each first draft. That, and I plan on writing a few solo novels of my own someday soon.

°

°

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

CaiAthena: 1 – Write an entire series before publishing it. I made the mistake of writing first in series books and got surprisingly busy trying to market them, then got even more busy writing other first in series stories. Many readers won’t even touch a series until it’s complete. 2 – Hire an editor, no matter how good you think you are. When I published my first book, I already had a Master’s in English Ed yet my editor then was invaluable. I had no idea I had done so many things wrong. They’re def. worth the money. 3 – Keep writing. We get better the more we write, so don’t think if the first few books don’t do well that it means you should stop. Writing is more than a talent, it’s a skill that gets better with time. Keep going. You’ll learn something new with every book you write. Daniel: Listen to CaiAthena. That, and make sure you put heart into your writing, not just technique. Anyone can paint-by-numbers, but true artists bleed for their craft. Do the same, it heals eventually.

°

°

Do you have anything to say to your readers?

We love you. We truly, honestly do. You’re a huge reason why we do what we do, and why we’ll keep writing until they bury our moldy corpses. Maybe even after. They have Word in Heaven, don’t they?

Athena Phoenix & Caia Daniels

Authors Caia Daniels and Athena Phoenix, AKA CaiAthena, is a blissfully married writing team living their very own second chance romance. After growing up in the same small town where neither really fit, even having dated for a week, these soul mates followed their own paths, but eventually, the universe propelled them back together. Both lovers of fictional realms, they discovered a mutual passion in penning socially conscious love stories that often inspire and sometimes scintillate their reader’s wildest fantasies.

CaiAthena strongly believes in the feminist agenda, and their writing reflects that. Every story features strong female characters that never need to be saved and always deserve to be worshiped – both out in the world and behind closed playroom doors. Strongly believing that only love can save the world, CaiAthena strives to represent all types of relationships including Polyamory, Ménage, Reverse Harem, LGBTQ, and BDSM dynamics. Their favorite genres to write include true-to-life Contemporary Erotic Romance & Urban Fantasy.
