Blurb:

I am a latent wolf shifter.
Or so I thought.

Then life as I knew it changed in a flash—or more accurately, an electrocution.

I’ve woken up in a strange place, surrounded by strange people who hate me. They’re in the middle of a war, and I look like I belong on the wrong side of it.

If that’s not enough to qualify as a really bad day, I now have wings and a strange animal to figure out, because it turns out that there’s not a damn latent thing about me.

If I want to live, I have to prove that I’m not the spy I’m accused of being. Then I need to figure out how the fuck to get back home before all hell breaks loose. Too bad my animal has zero interest in working with me unless it has to do with the two hot assholes that lead this rebel group.

I’m on my own, in a place I’ve never even heard of, with threats I don’t know how to defeat. And lucky me, I might as well have a rotisserie chicken living inside of me for all the help my newly discovered gryphon is.

Perfect. Just fucking perfect.

Obsidian Cove Prep was supposed to be Lennox Malia’s chance at freedom. Instead, it ended up as her own personal hell on Earth. Daily bullying and a severe lack of friends left her feeling hopeless and desperate for graduation.

That all changed one day when five guys showed up, very obviously interested in her. It all seemed too good to be true, and to say she was suspicious is an understatement. When secrets are revealed, and she discovers who she truly is, her new friends are there to help and guide her.

Navigating her last weeks of human high school would have been hard enough, but now she has to come to terms with her new powers and a new world, once again the outsider. Although, being the outsider may not be as bad as she thinks…if she gets to be with Calev, Tristan, Aeson, Evander, and Lachlan.

As her training begins, Lennox finally starts to find her inner strength. Unfortunately, her inner strength may not be enough to withstand the stalkers and attempted kidnappings that have come into her life along with her new powers. The danger worsens every day, leaving her with more questions than answers. With her powers still in chaos, they need to get to their new school, now more than ever.

Will starting at Obsidian Cove Supernatural Academy be the fresh beginning she’s been hoping for, or will it be too much of a change for Lennox and her new boyfriends to handle?

Author Cassie James #interview

Please give a warm welcome to

°

Tell us a bit about yourself

Hey, y’all! My name is Cassie and I’m a full-time author and a reality TV junkie. When I’m not writing, I’m usually acting as professional servant to my dog, a three-year-old Great Pyrenees with serious attitude. (I swear, you’ve never heard a dog huff more than mine.)

°

°

Have you always wanted to become an author?

I’ve known I wanted to write romance since the day I picked up my first romance novel. It was a Harlequin novel in my great-grandmother’s upstairs bedroom and I was absolutely not old enough to be reading it. But then I picked up another… and another… and well, I never put them down. I knew there was nothing I loved more than books, and nothing I wanted to write more than romance. I still have a handwritten copy of the first novel I wrote—a young adult romance so cringe worthy I hope it never sees the light of day!

°

°

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

Confession: I have a serious fear of a world where humans are overthrown by artificial technology. Yeah, I’m scared of robots, y’all. That means I spend much more time obsessing over them than I probably should, which is how my good friend and co-writer, Christine, and I started the discussion that led us to the idea that became The Thorns of Rosewood series. And yes, I do realize how bizarre it is that I chose an android for a main character—but I’m all about facing my fears!

°

°

What are you working on now?

I’m working on two projects right now. The Proxy, book two in The Thorns of Rosewood series, which I’m working on with a co-writer. Also, Saviors, which is the fourth and last book in my Pawns of Patience series.

°

°

Do you have any quirks while writing?

Mumbling aloud. Sometimes, when I’m trying to get a line of dialogue just right, I’ll sort of say it under my breath the way I think my character would say it, just to see what needs to be tweaked. And yes, sometimes I do (very bad) accents.

°

What are your hopes for the future?

More books! There might even be a little something supernatural in the works…

°

°

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

Do the work! Before I was a writer, I spent some time working in the film industry, and the one thing that has always held true is that one thing sets apart some dreamers from others. Their willingness to work. It isn’t always easy but if it’s really what you love it is so, so worth it.

°

Do you have anything to say to your readers?

Thank you. Thanks you times a million. I love writing books, and I love even more that I get to share them with all of you.

The men on my spaceship are fighting over me, and my boyfriend is having none of it. If that’s not enough, I’m stuck with a gruff soldier who’s refusing to follow my orders—and refusing to wear pants.
Trapped on a cramped ship, there’s no escaping their smoldering looks and sizzling touches. There’s also no escaping my growing feelings for all five of them.
When my greatest enemy returns, I need to hold this crew together and keep my feelings in check to fight for our lives and for the future of the galaxy.
Can I navigate the stars as well as my own heart to save the universe?

°

A Star Pilot’s Hero is a reverse harem space opera, featuring a bad-ass heroine, sexy rebels, and gripping space battles. It’s a combination of Firefly and Star Wars with a RH twist.

Author Michelle Hercules #interview

Please give a warm welcome to

Tell us a bit about yourself

I’m a USA Today bestselling author writing under two pen names. M. H. Soars for contemporary romance and Michelle Hercules for PNR, UF, Fantasy and SciFi romance. I was once a former avid reader/reviewer who decided to write a book about alien teens after a few glasses of mimosas. 🙂

°

°

Have you always wanted to become an author?

No. I’ve always liked to read since I was a kid, but growing up, I never believed that I could actually write a book. The limitations we give ourselves are scary. The indie movement was definitely a game changer for me.

°

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

Anime and manga for sure. I wanted to write an academy series featuring supernaturals, but divert a little from the usual vamp/werewolf/witch trifecta.

What are you working on now?

I’m working on two series. Gifted Academy which is a Paranormal High School Bully RH Romance, and Oz in Space which is a futuristic fantasy retelling of the Wizard of Oz. It’s also RH.

°

°

Do you have any quirks while writing?

I usually hide the word count of my word document. It helps me write faster.

°

What are your hopes for the future?

I want to see my books adapted to other formats (movie, TV, graphic novels).

°

°

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

Soak up as much information as they can about the craft and marketing, and write every day. But also be very cautious about service providers, especially the ones that claim easy fortune and quick results.

°

Do you have anything to say to your readers?

My newest release is Wicked Gods, the first book in the Gifted Academy series. It’s coming on Aug. 8th.

°

°

Blurb:

Nowhere is safe when the gods are wicked.

Since the beginning of times, there has always been two sides: Norms and Idols.

But never have the scales been so unbalanced as they are today.

I’m a Norm, which means, I grew up in fear of the Idols and their godly powers.

And now, I’m going to be surrounded by them, day and night. I’ve been offered a place at the prestigious Gifted Academy, an opportunity very few Norms get.

To survive, I must become invisible. But my hope to get through the academy unscathed goes down the drain when the most powerful boys in school set their eyes on me.

They hate me simply because I’m a Norm. If they knew who I truly am, they’d tear me apart limb by limb. But I’m done cowering away from Idols. It’s time for the Norms to fight back, and it all starts with me.

Author Jewels Athur #interview

Please give a warm welcome to

Tell us a bit about yourself

My name is Jewels Arthur, which is actually a penname. I have lived in Central Illinois all my life and I currently work at an insurance company that I don’t think wants to be associated with smut. Just a guess 😉 I have been married since 2011 to my high school boyfriend. We have 1 beautiful daughter who is 5. I am an avid reader, realty TV binger, and videogamer.

°

Have you always wanted to become an author?

I’ve always loved to write. Whether it was poems, like my grandmother, or fanfiction it’s always been a passion of mine. When I was younger I wrote fanfiction about the movie Signs with Mel Gibson. Probably because I was/am terrified of aliens so I was trying to make it less scary. I have always thought being an author was out of reach though. That it wasn’t a ‘real job’ but since seeing the indie author world my perception has changed.

°

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

Every video game that has assassins. For example Skyrim, the Dark Brotherhood is one of my favorite parts. I love being a badass assassin just running through and murdering everyone. The idea of creating this female assassin with a dark past appealed to me so much. Plus I love the idea that joining the family unlocks this power sleeping inside you. In my dreams I am Mara, female assassin succubus with my gorgeous harem of men.

°

°

What are you working on now?

Book 2 in the series. I am really excited for the introduction of new characters and to explore this realm the assassins can use called the void. I’m also working on a horror short story coming out in an anthology in September. There are a few other anthologies I am working on including a shifter romance that is turning out to be longer than I expected so we’ll see what happens with that. I also have some ideas for an alien reverse harem.

°

Do you have any quirks while writing?

Playlists. I have several that I have made that get me in the mood for certain scenes. Also I watch certain videos of the sexual variety for inspiration writing those sexy scenes 😉

°

What are your hopes for the future?

Honestly just getting all these stories out of my head and putting them on paper is amazing to me. The fact that people want to read them? Mind blowing. I’m hoping that the stories won’t stop and that I will be able to continue to express them and find readers.

°

°

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

Just do it. Literally if you have an idea, start writing and run with it! Make friends in the community. Everyone is so amazing and having contacts for your endless questions is amazing.

°

Do you have anything to say to your readers?

Thank you! Seriously, the fact that you are at all interested in the nonsense that I have in my head is astounding to me. Also, keep swooning. We need more swooners in the world.

Jewels Arthur’s Smutty Swooners

Author Sam Hall #interview

Tell us a bit about yourself

I’m a mum and a teacher and I live in sunny Australia.

Have you always wanted to become an author?

Kinda. I read A LOT as a kid, like obsessively so. I went to art school because I thought visual arts was my thing. I tried writing on and off, but could never get to the end of anything. I’d do short pieces for school, friends or boyfriends that had an impact, so I knew I could put words together in a way that could impact on some people, but with art you can make a bunch of small things that make up an exhibition, writing is putting one word after another, making a cohesive whole for 100 000 words or more. I also did what a lot of aspiring authors do and expected it all to be brilliant first go.

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

I’ve got two books out so here goes:
Not My Fantasy: I was reading LOTS of PNR, as Buffy was a big popular culture moment for me and was wanting to recapture some of that. Instead I found a lot of very sexy stuff, but in some parts of the genre, it can be very formulaic. I wrote this book as an attempt to play with the tropes in a bit of a knowing way, have a bit of a chuckle about some elements, but hopefully not in a mean spirited way, because I wouldn’t have read a lot of it if I didn’t have a real love for the genre.
My ideal reader for this is someone similar, who still loves PNR, though apparently its ‘dead’, but wants something fresh.

°

°

The Bottom Rung: I started writing this in a previous incarnation 15 years ago, but its transitioned nicely into a RH book. I teach Humanities, so the different ways different groups alienate and disempower others is of great interest to me. The book is about something not especially sexy: structural inequality and prejudice BUT I try to tell the story from the perspective of a very determined, bloody minded young woman who’s ready to take on the world to change it. I grew up in the 80s, so being Gen X I am quite apathetic about change, but increasingly I have become aware of the flawed, but real change people can have. This book was an attempt to look at that, how good intentions aren’t enough, that you need to understand the structures around you to change them. TL:DR: girl power, god-like female superheroes coming out of extremes of poverty and changing the world

°

What are you working on now?

Doing the final beta edits to Bottom Rung, getting the second book to both books ready for publication (they have been written and just need to be beta-ed and edited). I’ve got a high heat wolf RH book on the backburner, a prequel for NMF mostly done, a sweeping fantasy romance to finalise, a RH sequel to NMF and hopefully a spin off where one of the MC’s autistic son takes centre stage in a final NMF book.

°

°

Do you have any quirks while writing?

Not really. I like to listen to Spotify, but if I was all rock star and needed quiet or lots of time to focus, I wouldn’t be able to do it! I have to be flexible and write when I can.

°

What are your hopes for the future?

To make enough to cover costs. When I made a lot of artwork, it was a real drain on our finances. I’m old enough to want it to be at least cost neutral now.
For people to get what I do. People keep saying my stuff is quite different. Here’s hoping there’s a place for that, as there’s been a lot of people who go out there and don’t write to market and are never heard again…

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

I am still new to this so it seems to be disingenuous to be handing out advice. It’s all the same stuff everyone says and that’s read, read, read. Reading a lot of the same genre, you’ll start to internalise the tropes, language, clichés, character arcs etc and you start to see behind the curtain into the inner workings of a particular genre of writing. You don’t have to do what everyone else does to be successful, but you need to know why they are doing it, to reject it. I started writing because I was so frustrated with Laurell K Hamilton’s stuff. There was so much I liked and so much I hated. I started trying to write the antithesis of her stuff and ended up with these bloodless, aimless characters with surreal storylines and worlds. I seriously wrote millions of words until I realised this was just not gonna work!

°

°

Do you have anything to say to your readers?

You are only a very small group, but the feedback I’ve been getting through reviews told me what I needed to know, that people got what I was trying to do and appreciated it. So thanks. A lot of writing self help groups/books would tell you to absolutely not do what I have done, and that’s go off on my own tangent, but even if I only ever attain extremely niche author status, I’m pleased there’s some people in my corner, egging me on.

Please give a warm welcome toTell us a bit about yourself

I’m 26 in 2 days and I’m going onto a pump for type one diabetes ❤️ I’m a mum to fraternal twins who’ll be 4 next Valentine’s Day. I’m from England born and raised and writing is my passion. Not just books but poems and songs as well. I love to sing, bake and watch anything with Ryan Reynolds or Tom Ellis. I also have a awesome fella and we tease each other relentlessly but we’re always supportive of each other too.

°

°

Have you always wanted to become an author?

When I was younger I wanted to be a nurse or horse rider 😂 I’ve been writing since I was roughly about 12 and fell in love with it. Always wanted to publish but was to scared too and decided to pursue mechanics, got fully qualified but health got in the way.

°

°

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

It started off as a random idea that popped into my head, I’ve always loved supernatural style films and programmes and the Greek mythology fascinated me 😂 but I couldn’t get the idea to stick and then I was moaning out loud and my fella helped me to finally work out exactly what to do. As for the characters there’s a little of me in everything I write and sometimes true life experiences. Not everything but I find it easier to write from experience, and book boyfriends 😂

°

What are you working on now?

I’m working on my new series called The Drop of Death. It’s a Rh dystopian, apocalyptic world with a twist. I’m currently writing book 2.Do you have any quirks while writing?

Shouting at my characters, crying when I write something sad, talking to my pup. I apparently pull faces depending on what I’m writing but couldn’t say for sure 😂 and music gotta have some noise in the background.

°

What are your hopes for the future?

I’m not in this for the money, I write because I love too and I wanted to share it. Ideally I hope to make enough to continue funding the other books I write, but either way I’ll find a way to make it happen. My mum thinks they’ll become films but I laugh it off every time not something that really interests me 😂

°

°

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

Never stop writing, if you love it then just keep going. Don’t take any negative reviews too hard, there will always be someone who won’t enjoy your work, just like they’ll be those who’ll love them and want to read more. Always find the right people for you, be it support or to work with or my case, both. I have a great team behind me who I absolutely love chanderella daily is my editor and my sister from another mother while savannah richey is the my pa and a fantastic friend. That’s not even mentioning the beta readers I have who keep me on the straight and narrow.

°

°

Do you have anything to say to your readers?

Thank you. Thank you for taking the time to read my book, for taking a chance on such a new author and making me feel a little less like a newbie. The reviews whether 5 star or 1 help me to learn and improve. And I honestly read every review I get and try to reply to every message or comment that is posted for me. If I’ve ever missed yours I’m sorry, but feel free to do it again and I’ll try not to miss it for a second time. I love you guys and I couldn’t have done this without you. Thanks fo joining me on this crazy journey and I’m sure we’ll all enjoy the ride.

The Hollow’s Awakening: Paranormal Reverse Harem (Beyond the Veil Book 1) by Trina Bates #review

I thought I was out for a night of fun with the love of my life, Ebbin.
My best friend Blue had other plans. She added a little something
extra in our drinks. Something meant for Ebbin and I. A lust spell.
We ended up taking three men home that night.
Now eight weeks later, we find out we’re pregnant.
We’re ecstatic, that is until we run into the three men we thought, were long gone.
We didn’t know they were different, supernaturals which we call Other.
We also thought our baby would be human like us, a Hollow.
Forced to find out what our child will be, I can’t help but wonder if it
will bring us all together, or tear us apart.
Ooooh, I really enjoyed this book. The only reason I put it down was dropping my reader on my face when I fell asleep.
It was a fast paced delightfull whirlwind/rollercoaster of emotions. I so getting book two to follow the adventure.
I highly recommend you check out this delicious morsel. You won’t be disappointed.

Aurora’s Betrayal (The Lost Coven Book 2) by K.A. Knight

Blurb:

In helping someone I love, I lost my life. Or did I?

Cut off from my body, I live in the home of a god who’s willing to train me, to help me fully embrace my powers, both as a witch and as a reaper. But while I lay in a coma, the men I left behind suffer, desperate to find a way to bring me back.

I want to return to them, but our family is not complete. One is missing, a member of the coven who was lost before they found me. And I must go on a quest to Purgatory and bring him back, or we’ll forever be incomplete.

I’m coming home to my men, to my family, but will my return bring relief or doom us all?

Aurora’s Coven (The Lost Coven Book 1)

Blurb:

I have a secret. Darkness exists. I try to hide, but where can I go when it lives inside me?
On the run from those who want to kill me, I made an uneasy alliance and found a new home. Everything goes just fine until a coven of witches walk into the pub where I work. Broody, sexy, and scary as hell, I’m determined to avoid them, no matter how much attraction sizzles between us.
But Ezra, Alexander, Jason, and Benjamin have no intention of leaving me alone. They’re the council’s finest hunters, and they recognize the power that lives inside me, even if they don’t know what it is. They’re in town on a mission and agree to hold off turning me in. Which means I have limited time to convince them I’m not a bad person.
The darkness inside me grows, though, and when it breaks free in public, I’ll be forced to face the consequences. The only question is, can I trust these men who I feel a bond with, or will it lead to my destruction?
