Hanna Wenna PA #interview

Please give a warm welcome to PA Hanna Wenna

Tell us a bit about yourself

My name is Hannah ←←← not actually my real name 😂 I love love love to read! I’m married and have 2 demonspawn. I really love to stalk authors when, you know, I’m not reading books or talking about books… I totally don’t have a problem.

How long have you been a PA?

I’ve been a PA for about a year and a half probably closer to two years.

Graphic example

How did you get started as a PA?

I became really interested in the PA side of things when I started beta reading. I really wanted to give it a try to see if it would be something I would like to do. I was at home on maternity leave so figured, why not? I reached out to another PA and asked her so many questions and she helped me get started. But stalking was a definite key aspect to starting out.

What do you do as a PA?

I do so many things, it’s crazy! I’m an office worker and a babysitter←←←← authors are so needy!! But for real, I manage a lot of reader groups and I read a lot. I find ARC readers and bloggers for releases. Some days I live in photoshop and canva. I manage ARC & Street Teams. I format books. I do a ton of promo. I also organise anthologies and shared worlds with my partner in crime, Sarah Klinger. I live for google docs. I really don’t know what I would do without it. There’s so many other things I do, but basically I’ll do anything, even sell my soul….

Do you have any quirks while working?

Not really, I work from home so I try to work around my 2 & 4 year olds, also known as the devil spawn. When they aren’t home though, I have to have my music on to jam to while I’m working. I get really distracted while I’m reading so I’m always switching to puzzle games every other chapter.

What are your hopes for the future?

I just want to keep doing what I’m doing. I would love to set up a publishing company. Do more formatting because it relaxes me. But this job, it’s not really a job, it’s more than that. I love helping authors and so many of them have other jobs so being able to help them achieve their dream is just the best feeling ever.

Graphic example

Do you have any advice for new PA’s?

Immerse yourself in the indie community. Join reader groups, find out as much as you can. Stalk authors, read as much as you can. Talk to PAs and find out from them how they got started and what they do. And seriously if you think it’s something you want to do, talk to an author you love and have a relationship with and ask them if they need help. Go from there. I’ll never regret taking that leap. It’s the best non-job ever and it’s changed my life.

Graphic example

Are you available for new work or booked solid?

I do have some availability depending on the author’s needs. I’m always happy to help out an author who has questions – I’m on all the social medias and you can find the full list of what I offer on my website.

Spanish Translator Cinta Garcia #interview

Please give a warm welcome to Spanish Translator Cinta Garcia

Tell us a bit about yourself

I’m an international award-winning writer who lives in Spain with my wonderful American husband (he’s also a writer). When we take a holiday, which is rare, we sometimes vacation in the States, other times in lovely Europe. Apart from writing, I’m a full-time translator and proofreader. I typically spend my days typing like I’m crazy, totally submerged in whatever work is at the top of my task list. When not working and writing, I read. I’ve loved books since I was five years old, and currently average over one hundred books a year.

My BA is English Studies, and my field of expertise is Literature. Much of my Creative Writing Courses occurred at Oxford University in the UK. I rather miss England. But why wouldn’t I? I’m a huge fan of Jane Austen.

An unbridled passion for Literature is what makes me successful at literary assessments and proofreading, whereas my love for English and Spanish is what makes me a success at translating. Initially, I learned English on my own as a child. Later, I studied it throughout school, including university. I was so adept with English by the time I met my husband, his family had difficulty believing I was Spanish.

How did you get started as a translator?

Back in 2003, I was working as a private tutor of English for kids and teenagers. Although I enjoy teaching, it was never my passion. I had always wanted to work as a translator, but it is very difficult to get work translating books if you are not well connected with publishing houses and editors. One day, a family member told me that an acquaintance of hers was looking for someone to translate into Spanish several medical articles and she had recommended me, since I was quite proficient in the language pair. So I did that job, and then that led to me translating several medical textbooks.

From there, I started advertising myself as a translator and, with the boom of Indie publishing around 2012, a brand new world opened in front of me. Authors wanted to explore other markets and I had the key to the huge Spanish-speaking market. Slowly and steady, I have been able to build up a business around my passion for books, and I feel very happy and accomplished every day.

Do you have any quirks while working?

Hmm… I don’t really think so. I need to have my desk arranged in a certain way and I always have a cup of tea handy. Are those quirks? I don’t know. I don’t really do anything crazy or weird. I have more quirks when I write my own stories, to be honest.

What are your hopes for the future?

Well, it would be wonderful if one day I can collaborate with a big publisher and translate the works of some of my favorite authors. Mainly, I just want to be able to make myself a name in the freelancing world so I can truly save for the future.

Do you have any advice for newbie translators?

Work hard, be humble, and be patient. Very patient. No business grows overnight and the competition is fierce. I would also recommend them not to sell themselves cheap. It’s not good for them or for any of the other translators who are trying to make a living out of it. There are enough scammers out there who use Google Translate and offer cheap translations with zero quality. So don’t become one of them.

Are you available for new work or booked solid?

Covid-19 has been a disaster for everybody, and we translators are no exception. So right now I’m not as busy as I normally am. I am absolutely available for new work and I would love to get new authors to translate. If people want to know more about me and my work, they can visit my website:

Thanks a lot, Helle, for hosting me on your website! It’s been fun.

Second Skin by Ophelia Bell #preorder

Mad Dog (Second Skin Book 1) by Ophelia Bell

My military discharge was only a year ago and all I want is to do tattoos and live my life, put my old scars and previous sins behind me. But it turns out my oldest wound can still inflict fresh agony.

Her name is Celeste, she was my first everything, and those feelings haven’t died.

The problem is, I have feelings for someone else now too, and I don’t know if Celeste would understand…

Leo is his name, the inked-up gangbanger who visits my shop for new tattoos every Saturday like clockwork.

And just to complicate this clusterf*ck that is my life now, Leo is also in love with Celeste.

Both are off limits, and I know it. He’s straight. I’m not. And she’s the daughter of one of the most dangerous men in the western hemisphere. But fate seems to keep throwing them in my path, torturing me with the one thing I want but can’t have.

Until the night Leo comes to me with a proposal, and a request I never expected to hear spills from his lips. But even one night with them would be worth risking everything.

A new contemporary romance series is coming to ebook retailers in 2021.

Author Dakota Brown #interview

Please give a warm welcome to author Dakota Brown

Tell us a bit about yourself

I’m a mountain girl. I live at altitude and I ride horses and take care of my hobby farm. I write reverse harem paranormal romance, though I have some sci fi in the works, too. I might even hit some epic fantasy in the future.

Have you always wanted to become an author?

I think the answer to that is yes, even though I didn’t actually know it was a thing I could do until the 6th grade. I didn’t realize authors were “real” people when I was younger, but creative writing was always my favorite subject. It’s been a long road, but totally worth it.

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

Um, well, I’m writing about an 80’s obsessed exorcist who owns a pizza shop, so, I might also love the 80’s and pizza. I actually took some elements from a short story I wrote years ago but failed to sell, and turned it into my current novel.

What are you working on now?

As I said above, I’m working on a series called Pizza Shop Exorcist. Chris Price is a sassy exorcist who somehow ends up ‘consorting’ with the demons she would normally be sending back to hell. She’s also got a vampire and a half angel for good measure. And maybe even more as the series progresses.

Do you have any quirks while working?

I like to listen to music, but it has to be music I’m familiar with because I don’t want it to distract me, and new songs will. I can listen to the same music for years and it’s fine. If I’m adding new music, I have to listen to it while I’m not writing first.

Also, tea. All the tea.

What are your hopes for the future?

To keep writing full time. I’d like some big press contracts. Netflix maybe? LOL. The sky is the limit. My main goal though is to continue to make a living doing what I love, and putting out quality work that my readers love.

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

It’s hard, but don’t give up. If you’re working with a publisher, make sure you’re completely comfortable with all of the elements of the contract. If you’re working solo, make sure you get a good editor. I’ve done both, and they both have their good points and bad.

Do you have anything to say to your followers?

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!! From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading my books and loving them.

Teaser for book two, Price of Exorcism.

“Were you going to tell me?” I said, voice rough.

“Yes, before we went to hell. Though I hadn’t figured out how I wanted to broach the subject. Most, except other demons, wouldn’t have been able to sense the binding, especially as readily as Azrael did. I should have known he would sense it. Azrael is exceptionally different, even by our standards.”

I let out a breath and tried to unclench my shoulders. Fuck.

“If you will let me, I will improve upon these protections later.”

“Why not now?” I managed to gasp out.

“Because right now,” he leaned closer. “I want to see if you taste as good as you smell.”

This time I did whimper. The hand holding the mirror trembled, and Ezra took the mirror from me before I dropped it. Then he traced both of his hands up my back, fingers burning across my skin. His lips touched my neck and I forgot how to breathe.

Savage Sector, One: A Rejected Mate Romance by Mila Young

Being rejected by my fated mate is the least of my problems…

I’m a half-breed, a Cursed. The wolf half gets me an alpha for a fated mate…the witch half gets me killed.

Or so they think.

Now four Viking Alphas are all that stand between me and certain death. They need my powers to take over the Savage Sector, and they’ll hold my sisters’ as leverage until they get what they want from me.

My wild magic, my heart.

My wolf calls to them, but I can’t trust them to keep me alive once this is over.

I’m just an Omega to them, but that mistake may cost us all our lives

What the Viking Alphas want, the Viking Alphas get…
…and right now that’s me and my wild magic.

Savage Sector is set in the same world as Shadowlands Sector, with some cross over of characters. It can be read without having read Shadowlands first.

This is a three book series.

Author Kyra Alessy #interview

Give a warm welcome to author Kyra Alessy

Tell us a little about yourself…

Well I’m pretty boring tbh! I grew up in NJ and moved to the UK for a one-year study abroad and I loved the UK so much I decided to never leave. (Don’t worry, it was legal, I had dual citizenship!) That was like fifteen years ago and since then, I’ve worked in London for awhile, got married, had a couple kids and I got back into writing about two years ago when I had a pretty popular series on Literotica, and the feedback I got from that was what made me decide to start publishing.

Have you always wanted to become an author?

Yeah, ever since I was about 11 or 12. I’ve always known that was what I really wanted.

What was your inspiration for current book/series?

I don’t even know. The Dark Brothers was meant to be a short story what came to me in a dream, but then I started writing it on Lit and it just snowballed into ideas for 6 standalones.

What are you working on now?

I just finished book 3 of the Dark Brothers, Kept to Kill, which is being published on the 20th May (I think you’re the first to know the date!) so I’m just starting the plotting for Book 4 which is called Caught to Conjure and follows a witch named Vivienne in the same world.

Do you have any quirks while working?

I need absolute silence, which means no writing during the day since my kids are not silent! When I can’t get the quiet I need, I have to listen to ‘airplane cabin’ white noise otherwise I just can’t focus. It’s ridiculous.

What are your hopes for the future?

It would be amazing to be able to earn enough from indie-publishing that don’t need to go back to a full-time job with a boss and stuff. I never liked it and writing in general is my real passion. I can say with 100% certainty that I’ve never put so much effort into anything ever!

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

Do your research before you start. There are a lot of free resources to learn everything, or at least be knowledgeable enough to not make costly mistakes that will break you before you’ve even started. Also, if you can’t afford a proofreader, get two or three Beta Readers and ask your ARC peeps to look for typos end errors. It’ll help you in the long-run!

Do you have anything to say to your followers?

Just thanks so much for following me and sorry I suck at posting on Facebook, Twitter, and IG – although I am heavily into TikTok right now ( I love it!)
