Please give a warm welcome to author Sonja Djurisevic

Tell us a bit about yourself… 

I am originally from Montenegro, my family moved to the Netherlands two years ago. I study Literature, literature has always been my love, especially poetry.

Have you always wanted to become an author? 

I have always dreamed of being an author one day. Even when I was a child, teachers and parents noticed my talent for writing.

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

The biggest inspiration for my poetry collection is my family and my boyfriend. We had a lot of happy and sad moments in the past five years, so I decided to write poetry collection for them, because they are my strength.

What are you working on now? 

I am working on my poetry collection which will see the light of day on 8 February next year.

Do you have any quirks while working? 

Oh, yes. I am chewing my pencil all the time.

What are your hopes for the future? 

I hope that one day I will be an established author with a lot of published books, which will connect with readers.

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

My advice to new authors is to be persistent and work hard.
