Author Montana Ash #interview

Please give a warm welcome to author Montana Ash

Tell us a bit about yourself…

I am an Aussie. I work as an embryologist and genetic counsellor by day and write books about sex and magic at night  I am a solo mother by choice with 2 beautiful, spunky daughters under the age of 4.

Have you always wanted to become an author?

Honestly? Not really. I have always been a huge reader and also a writer of lots of miscellaneous things. I always liked to write as a hobby, but as a published author? I kind of did that by accident. I decided to write a full-length novel one day for fun. I then published it just for shits and giggles, and, well … turns out people liked it. And now I’m an author – which I love and am so grateful for. Best on-purpose-accident ever!

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

It’s just whatever is in my head. I do love to read paranormal and fantasy, as well as watch sci-fi, so those definitely are a factor. But I tend to write whatever is in my daydreams.

What are you working on now?

I am working on book 2 in my Reluctant Royals series. It is about demons who have guardian angels and angel assassins. Sexy, funny, and just a tad violent 😉

Do you have any quirks while working?

I prefer to sit cross-legged on the floor to write – rather than at my really lovely, expensive desk. I also eat Nutella out of the jar quite frequently when typing!

What are your hopes for the future?

Definitely to get back into a strict release schedule. The last 12 months have been a nightmarish whirlwind (for lots of is, I know) and my releases have taken a toll. But I’m back on track with writing time now, so I hope to pump out lots of book babies this year.

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

Write what you love to read. If you enjoy what you’re writing it will show in your words, your characters, and your plot. And remember that character development is key to a great book. If a reader falls in love with your character, they will be loyal for life.

Do you have anything to say to your followers?

Thank you for being so loyal and patient. I appreciate you all. Please come and hang out in my private Facebook group – Montana’s Maniacs. I’m there daily just chatting and hanging out, doing giveaways, uploading exclusive snippets, and always updating you. Much love xoxo
