Please give a warm welcome to author Annie James

Tell us a bit about yourself
I’m 23 I live an hour from saint Louis I’ve been in a relationship with my future fiancee for almost 9 years. I have a bachelor’s degree in educational studies from Central Methodist I graduated in December. I’m also a full time PA and love my job and my authors.

Annie James has been reading since before she could talk. Her parents always told her she’d be a writer one day. She’s always wanted to write, but it took some great friends believing in her to help her make the leap. She lives with her diva cat Anna, she’s always reading and she lives for a good cup of coffee. She’s a believer in magic and is just the mouthpiece for all the voices in her head.

Have you always wanted to become an author?
Actually I’ve always wanted to write but never thought I’d be good enough so I was a happy fangirl reader for years. I wanted to be a teacher at one point but covid gave me the push along with my amazing friends to make a career change that would make me happy. So here I am with my dorky fangirl self finally trying to let my characters shine.

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?
My published book was in the Rock This Way Anthology by Irish Horse Productions. It’s an awesome story of a girl from a small town writing music for the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. But they have more secretes than meets the eye. My sweet friend Tiegan Cylne needed help with a book idea and I love thinking of stories so I sent her my idea and she asked me to cowrite it with her. It was hard for us as the anthology didn’t want to take us because I was new so I sat on it. Then she recommended I write for this company that dose free anthologies and sent me their openings. I saw the Rock star one thought it over and Calie appeared ready for action with a whole lot of secretes and her four sexy men and wouldn’t leave me alone.

What are you working on now?
That’s actually a secret but I can tell you it’s a fairytale retelling and it’s MF at the moment and the FMC is a total bad ass.
Do you have any quirks while working?
I love writing when it’s quiet but that rarely happens. I have to be in the mood and I can’t get interrupted or I lose the story flow completely.

What are your hopes for the future?
I hope to continue to publish books and write things I’ve always wanted to read. If I make one reader happy then that’s good enough for me. I want to share my love of story telling and show others that if I can write they can too.

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?
Talk to the PA’s they are so great and know all the secrets. Don’t be afraid to ask for help but know enough about pricing so you know what’s worth paying for and what you should avoid. It’s hard and it’s scary but once you find your readers it makes it all worth it. I can’t wait to find my stalkers and I wouldn’t trade my friends for the world their support means everything to me.
Do you have anything to say to your followers?
Hi future and current stalkers thank you for taking a chance on a quirky fangirl author and I hope you stick around because I can’t wait to get to know you!!
