Tell us a bit about yourself

Hello! I live in New England, (north of Boston), and just started writing and publishing my work just over a year ago. It is still unbelievable to see my books out in teh wild! I spend my days teaching high school English and Film courses. I love animals and spend a lot of my free time working with horses and horseback riding. I enjoy reading fantasy, mystery and romance. And of course in between all of that and feed my television and film binge watching addiction!

Have you always wanted to become an author?

I have always loved writing and wanted to be a writer. I finally found the courage to share my work for the first time over the last year.

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

The inspiration for my current series (Team Blaze) was learning a lot about the decrease in honeybees, and the environmental repercussions of that. The world of magic that the characters live in is is strongly influenced by different versions of mythology and classic religious figures, which I have always found fascinating, specifically when looking at different perspectives from different cultures.

What are you working on now?

I am currently wrapping up the end of Team Blaze, and have three books slated to come out over the next few months that are the start of three new series. One is a paranormal academy series The Academy of Order & Chaos that centers around a main character who is developing new powers. One is a fantasy based PNR centered around a mystery following a powerful witch who begins to uncover a male witch trafficking ring. And the third is PNR about a female assassin and her adventures with her hellhound companion.

Do you have any quirks while working?

I find I do my best writing either while listening to classical music, athough I do most of my plotting and general story development while in the car, or in the shower. Once I have a basic idea and characters fleshed out, they tend to come to life and start to play out different scenarios in my head. It is both wonderful and exaspperating, sometimes they want to go in a different direction then I originally planned.

What are your hopes for the future?

I hope to find more time and continue writing. I love hearing from readers and have had some wonderful discussions over my books and characters, which is so exciting and surreal for me. I hope to have more opportunities to interact with my readers.

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

My advice to writers that are publishing for the first time, is to not be afraid your work isn’t good enough. Put it out there, be excited and proud of your work. Although there is always more to learn and grow with every book you write and publish, your tribe will find you, and they will be incredibly supportive.

To my readers, thank you for taking a chance on a new budding author! I hope you enjoy the new stories and characters that have been living in my head over the last year!
