Tell us a bit about yourself

I am currently studying toward (hopefully) my PhD in Experimental Psychology. Now you may ask why the heck am I am PA. I love the author community. I also love numbers and love organization. I kinda have a thing for spreadsheets. Like a REAL thing. *fans self* I absolutely love to travel. I recently went to Amsterdam and I keep realizing how much I miss it there. I’m also kinda a yoga junky. Basically, I’m a mixed up ball of random.

How long have you been a PA?

I have been working as a PA for a long time now. I normally work with small business owners but expanded into working with authors in the RH community last April. It has been amazing!!

Have you always wanted to be a PA?

I’ve always loved helping people and I developed a skillset that helps me do that for my authors. PAing was an obvious fit for me.

What do you do as a PA?

Nearly everything. I think my favorite things are helping manage ARC teams and bookkeeping…yeah I know, crazy, right? Who likes numbers?? Me. I also help with promotion, managing readers groups, other social media, and more than I could list. Basically, I’ve worked in over 10 different industries so I have a lot of skills. Just ask and I can probably do it.

Do you have any quirks while working?

I listen to books while I work. I also drink water like it’s going out of style. I don’t even realize how much I drink. It’s nearly a compulsion.

What are your hopes for the future?

Obviously with my pursuit for my PhD, working in research is my endgame but I don’t see that stopping my PA work. I love what I do and I love my authors as well as all the amazing readers out there.

Do you have any advice for new PA’s?

Be organized…like overly so. Communicate. Don’t ghost people. Ask for advice. There are tons of us that do this so just shoot a PM to me and I’d be happy to give you some direction. In fact, I actually have interns to help those who want to explore the world of PAing in the reading community and I help show them the ropes. I’m a nut for helping people!
