Tell us a bit about yourself
My name is Grace McGinty and I am a romance author from Australia. I moonlight as a librarian during the day, delivering books to retired nuns. This always amuses me… if only they knew, right?

Have you always wanted to become an author?
I’ve always wanted to be an author, ever since I was a small child. I wrote a story when I was 6 about a ghost in a cave, and that was it for me. I was hooked.

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?
My current book is the second in a vampire cozy mystery series. Newly Undead in Dark River came up because I was laughing with my friends about travelling solo and ending up dead in a ditch. And I said, “it has to be better than Undead in a ditch, right?”
The rest is history!

What are you working on now?
I’m working on the sequel to Newly Undead in Dark River, and also a spin-off of my debut series the Hell’s Redemption series. The characters are being noisy in my head and refused to wait their turn!

Do you have any quirks while writing?
Hmm writing quirks. I can only write to music, but that’s part necessity because my household is LOUD! But as a result, most of my books have accidental soundtracks.

What are your hopes for the future?
I hope to make enough money writing that I can retire young, get one of my books optioned into a movie and take baths in $100 bills. But mostly I’d be happy if people continued to read and like my books. It makes me happy when readers message me and say WHAT THE HELL?! I NEED THE SEQUEL NOW!

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?
My advice to new authors is to find a writing buddy! There’s plenty of other new authors (or seasoned authors) that would love to connect with you. When you have a writing buddy who shares your passion, it spurs you on, holds you accountable, soothes your hurts and worries. They are worth their weight in rare antique books!

Do you have anything to say to your readers?
Gah, if you get me started on my Readers, this will turn into a gush feat. Seriously, the readers are the reason we write. They encourage us to take the leap, to try new things no matter how scary. They make all the long nights, frustrations, bad reviews, and lack of social life totally worth it. To my readers, I love you all! 🖤
