Please give a warm welcome to

Tell us a bit about yourself
Well, let’s see . . . do you want the short or long version. LOL Some call me a maverick in motion, I’m an adventurous paranormal, RH and contemporary romance writer. My stories are guaranteed to make readers flush and blush. Even as a quirky youngster, writing love stories was paramount in my life—well above algebra and biology. Learning first hand that some love stories crash and burn while others ignite with everlasting fire, my romances are inspired by my enduring epic romance with my Hubster, whose ideas and collaboration have led to some of my greatest written works—as well as our most-prized achievement, our daughter, Kidlet.
In my spare time when I’m not in the writing cave, I enjoy reading (duh! 😂), singing, golfing, spending time with my family, and sparking a new verve for romance and life in each of my readers. I’m all about feeding those romance fantasies!

Have you always wanted to become an author?
I can’t say when that became a conscious ambition; I just write and have done so for as long as I remember. Family lore has it I was printing stories as a toddler.
What was your inspiration for your current book/series?
Gods, that’s another long story. Nutshell: I was in ICU with my husband, not sure if he’d survive, when the idea about how we’d meet in the afterlife came to me. You know, destined mates and all that. Well, by the time he was moved to the CCU, I had two destined mates. By the time he was discharged, I had four, and my Hubster looked like Joe Black (you know, the Brad Pitt movie), so yeah, a paranormal reverse harem with destined mates was born. fist pump

What are you working on now?
I’m working on the last book in the Sexy Sins Academy RH series and the first book in the Sexy Sins Prison RH series.
Do you have any quirks while writing?
Many friends/family and a few readers will be vastly disappointed when they hear that I do NOT wear bondage gear (to write . . . um, what goes on in our bedroom stays in our bedroom 😜), and Hubster refuses to do the bobbing package striptease no matter how much I plead! I write in my Hubster’s recliner with noise canceling headphones while Hubster watches CNN. (Yes, indeed; daytime use of the recliner was the trade-off for enduring endless hours of CNN woman power.) I generally wear sweats if I get out of my PJs at all since I gave up the corporate job to write romance full time. I’m experimenting with listening to music while I craft my sex scenes. That’s about as quirky as I get unless you ask me to tell my inspirational “pretty flogger” story. evil grin

What are your hopes for the future?
Almost losing my husband gives me a whole new perspective on life, so in addition to my ardent wish for things like world peace, I hope to give and get joy from life every single one of my remaining days on this planet. Oh, and I hope my Sexy Sins Academy series is a hit with readers! fingers crossed
Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?
Listen to and take advice from successful peers/mentors, who have already made all the stupid mistakes you’ll repeat unless you listen and learn. Stay the course. Don’t give up. Learn your craft. Learn your process. One of the best things I ever did was taking Becca Syme’s Write Better Faster course and learning my own personal writing process. Find your tribe and be a good friend. Pay it forward. That about covers it. 🙂

Do you have anything to say to your readers?
We all love our readers; we wouldn’t be doing this if we didn’t. BUT . . . my readers are special to me on a whole different level. When my Hubster fell ill, I let my readers know why I had to adjust my publishing schedule and just generally bled out some of my pain in my newsletter and in my wonderful Facebook reader group. I treasured the notes and posts of encouragement; they kept me going through some of the darker times. Their faith and the joy they told me they find in my stories birthed the Sexy Sins Academy, which is a rom com, so go figure that. 🙂
