Tell us a bit about yourself

My name is Michelle Hoffman and I write under Sofia Ann Hoffman. I am a Texas native now living in Arizona. I have two dogs who are my fur babies, and I adore 80s rock.

Have you always wanted to become an author?

Yes, I have always written little things or told people stories. I can remember wanting this s as far back as elementary school.

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

I have a few books in the MAR (Magical Alliance Refuge) world. Each book is able to be read as a stand alone, but those who have read the books find some characters cross over into other books. I got the idea for the first book after seeing a request for submissions to Falling for Them, Vol 4. I decided to write about something that wasn’t written about much and chose dolphin-shifters. That story is called Leap at Love. Since then I have released Men for Christmas: Check, Claiming the Owl Shifter, and Pisces on the Hunt. All of the stories are related to MAR somehow.

What are you working on now?

I’m expanding Leap at Love for a solo release and also editing for other authors.

Do you have any quirks while writing?

I’m not able to have the TV on while writing or editing because it’s too distracting. Usually, I put on a favorite radio station or listen to the Alexa. I’m also a total pantser and find it hard to plot out my books. I’m working on that.

What are your hopes for the future?

I would love to have more books out there for everyone to read. So far, I only have two in paperback. Steven With a V is a contemporary romance published traditionally. Floofballs from Hell is a short story that appeared in a Halloween anthology and features a man forced to raise three hellhound puppies.
