Author Laurel Jones #interview

Please give a warm welcome to

Tell us a bit about yourself

I am born and raised a Texan though I live in Tennessee now. I’m newly 31, married with two girls under 5. I recently left a finance career to pursue speech pathology (tongue ties).

Have you always wanted to become an author?

It wasn’t on my radar until May this year. I always have crazy ideas! I love paranormal and urban fantasy. I needed and outlet and found my way back to writing. I had once started a horse academy series in high school and deleted it. I also stopped writing poems in college. Not sure why. I am ecstatic to be back at it!

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

I had a very vivid dream about Brenna and Shane and just started hitting it all down. I found more inspiration through images as well as the courage to write through the support of other indie authors.

What are you working on now?

I’m finishing a Halloween anthology and starting on Ash and Embers White Inferno Book 2. This will be Gage and Brenna’s book.

Do you have any quirks while writing?

I’m horrible with tenses along with using ‘and’ too much. I had my awesome alpha team catching me left and right, lol.

What are your hopes for the future?

I hope to continue writing as a hobby. Would I love to go big time eventually, of course – who wouldn’t?
I would love to do Penned Con as an author in the next two years and I’m looking forward to The Court of Sin event in June 2020!

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

So many supporters! I can’t tell you how many authors there are out there rooting for you and encouraging you. Even if you think you can’t; yes you can! There’s a lot of moving pieces but there is help everywhere. Just write and worry about the rest later! (Famous words from many).

Do you have anything to say to your readers?

Thank you so very much for your support and interest in my book! I plan to give you much more along the way!
