Tell us a bit about yourself
Well let’s see. First is that I love to read. I probably spend close to as much time reading as I do writing, just because I love following all of the adventures and romances my favorite authors spin on their stories. I also have a huge artistic bent. I paint and sculpt. Surprisingly when I attended university I got a degree in history with a minor in literature. It has helped me when it comes to research, but I often think of it as my debt pile. I just recently relocated from my home state Alaska to Florida.

Have you always wanted to become an author?
Actually my first passion was art. I tried for years to make money from my paintings and sculptures, but it never was particularly profitable, although I did make some money. My first book, The VaDorok I wrote in January. I was bored, with nothing to occupy myself since the tv and internet temporarily shut off. I fell in love with writing with that story. I’d had a few half hearted false starts the year before, but never gave it much serious consideration until I completed that book.

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?
For the Mate Index I was inspired a lot by the Celestial mates books, but with my own spin on it. From that I started thinking “what if…”
The Monsterly Yours series is more general. I love humorous romances, especially ones dealing with the supernatural such as the books by Katie McAlister. I wanted to start with the kind of unlikely heroes that you would not normally find in most paranormal and fantasy romances.

What are you working on now?
Right now I am working on the next installment of the Mate Index, The Vori’s Secret. We see more of the Agraak which will pave the way for The Heart of the Agraak I am planning for November which takes the reader to Agraadax. I am also working book 3 of The Monsterly Yours books, The Accidental Werewolf’s Mate. I hope to have both out before the end of September. I am also working on some special stuff for Halloween.

Do you have any quirks while writing?
Quirks? I don’t know. I drink a lot of coffee when I write, almost addictive if that counts. I also write with two toddlers in the house so I may just need all that caffiene.

What are your hopes for the future?
My hope is that I keep putting out stuff people love. Now that am in Florida I also hope to be able to attend events as an author.

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?
I think my biggest advice is if you want to write, it is never too late and your circumstances too bad to prevent you from writing. My first book I put together my own cover and self edited the best I could (and then went back and updated with an professionally edited version when I discovered that folks actually liked it). If you want to write, do it!

Do you have anything to say to your readers?
I just want to say how much I appreciate everyone who has borrowed, bought and shared my work. My fans are amazing and I feel totally blessed to have the readership I do!
