Please give a warm welcome to

Tell us a bit about yourself

Hi, I’m Carrie Whitethorne, USA Today bestselling author of paranormal and urban fantasy romance. I write everything from second chance love to fated mates, all with a mythological twist.

I’ve been self published for three years, and started out with a Fae romance. This developed into something of a Saga, that I followed up with an Egyptian mythology reverse harem series.

Have you always wanted to become an author?

I’ve always loved to write, but I never dreamed I’d ever be published.

°

°

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

My current series is a Wizard of Oz reverse harem. But this isn’t the Oz you know. 100 years have passed since Dorothy returned home, and lots of things have changed.

°

°

What are you working on now?

I’m currently moving between a Military reverse harem series for my contemporary pen name, Shae Banks, and an urban fantasy series I hope to get out early next year.
The fantasy is an interesting mix of witches, demons, and many other mystical races and their fight against a common enemy.

Do you have any quirks while writing?

I flit about a lot before I settle on a project. I’ll have something in mind, outline it, then someone entirely unrelated to that story will pop into my head and I’ll set that story up too. This is usually how I end up with two projects running at once.

°

°

What are your hopes for the futur?

To reach more people with my work and deliver the books they want to read.

°

°

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

Save for the editor. Take the advice. Accept criticism and learn from it. Keep going.

This isn’t an overnight success story. It’s easier than traditional publishing, but the hurdles are high.
Your first book won’t be the book you produce in two years time. You will learn. You will grow. You’ll get better and your readers will see it and love you for it.

°

°

Do you have anything to say to your readers?

Thank you.
It’s my readers and their feedback that keeps me writing.
