Author Albany Walker #interview

Please give a warm welcome to author Albany Walker

Tell us a bit about yourself

°

Hi, I’m Albany. I’m a mom, wife, reader and writer. Pretty much in that order. I have four children that are the center of my universe, and a husband I’m still deeply in love with after nineteen years of marriage. I write romance, and believe in real life happily ever afters.

Have you always wanted to become an author?

I’ve been an avid reader since childhood. I started reading books my mom and aunts left lying around, which were mostly horror and true crime. I didn’t find the romance genre until I was in my late twenties, and I never looked back.

°

Being an author was always a dream of mine, but I would have never started the journey if it wasn’t for my youngest child. I spent a lot of time just holding her, (she’s still clingy today) 🙃 I had been reading book after book but I had a story in my head and I couldn’t seem to find the story I wanted to read. So, one day I decided I would write it. It was an outlet I didn’t know I was desperate for.

°

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

°

I’m not sure I had a true inspiration for my current series. I tend to write what I want to read, so sometimes a character will come to me, or a single scene and I go from there. I’m a total pantser, even when I try to plot my characters won’t ever listen to me.

°

What are you working on now?

I’m currently working on book four of my newest series Infinity Chronicles. Book one is already available with book two coming May 2nd.

°

°

Do you have any quirks while writing?

°

I have to stick to my routine. If I get a late start, I end up lost in the depths of social media. 😁 I also need quiet, writing takes my entire focus, no music, no TV. But I am a big music lover, so I often find inspiration in music.

°

What are your hopes for the future?

I hope to keep publishing for a long time to come.

°

°

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

°

My best advice.
Write for yourself, you’ll never make everyone happy.
Editing is so damn important. But not every editor is right for you. Don’t be afraid to submit samples to see if you work well together.
Find a tribe, and utilize author support. There’s a wealth of knowledge out there, and so many authors willing to help.

°

°

Do you have anything to say to your readers?

°

I truly appreciate the support, and I love hearing from readers. Feel free to send me a message or email if you have any questions.

Thanks!
