Debut Author Eva Delaney #interview

Please give a warm welcome to author Eva Delaney

Tell us a bit about yourself?

I’m from Toronto, but with my head in the clouds all the time, I feel like I belong in space or in a fantasy kingdom. So I started writing stories. I live with a cuddly, lazy dog and a playful chubby cat.

Have you always wanted to become an author?

Yes! I started writing when I was in Kindergarten. Back then, I needed an adult’s help because I didn’t know how to spell yet. Things go a lot a faster now.

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

My current series is All the Stars in the Sky, a space opera reverse harem A friend introduced me to RH last year. So I picked up Pirate Nemesis by Carysa Locke and loved it. I thought I could do something similar by combining two of my fave things: romance and space opera. The main inspiration for this series in Star Wars, along with a mix of Firefly.

What are you working on now?

I’m working on book two in All the Stars in the Sky. This one will focus on the main character falling in love with her best friend: A nerdy, shy boy.

Do you have any quirks while writing?

I can only write in bed or at a cafe (it’s terrible for my back!)

What are your hopes for the future?

I hope to turn writing into a full-time gig. I kind of hate my day job and look forward to the day when I can focus on writing instead.

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

Make friends with other authors! They make all the difference. They can help you through rough patches in your writing, help promote your work, and answer questions. Author friends are everything!
