Please give a warm welcome to author Laurel Chase

Tell us a bit about yourself

I’m much more interesting in my head – that’s where all the good stuff lives. In real life, I work a pretty tame job, play board games and read with my kiddos, ages 8 and 10, and plan as many vacations as I can with my husband. I write about my imaginary friends and go on crazy adventures with them at night, so all around life is pretty awesome 🙂

Have you always wanted to become an author?

Yes! I’ve always had a book going, since I was about six. I took time off to pursue things people told me to pursue, and follow “sensible” goals, but before turning 30, I decided eff that! Life’s too short to be sensible 😉

What are you working on now?

I’m smack in the middle of the Haret Chronicles Qilin series – working on book 4 of 7. I have plannnz for after that, though. Always scheming! I’m also editing a hot story to go in the March edition of Between the Sheets ♡

Do you have any quirks while writing?

I don’t have time for special demands – I write when I can write. I do have favorites, though. My local Starbucks knows what seat I always take (cushioned bench, next to the outlet) and my usual order (Venti quad breve latte). I slip in my headphones and usually listen to BTS – often a single song on repeat. I guess that’s a quirk, lol.

What are your hopes for the future?

World domination. Too much? Nah. I want to write forever. I love Reverse Harem, and I see myself staying here a good while. Writing sex is so much fun 😉

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

Read in the genre you want to write. Start making author and reader friends early. Don’t be embarrassed to ask for help. Oh, and keep your ass in the chair. I’ve taught some creative writing classes before – this last one is what separates writers from authors. Get the words on the page, no matter what.
