Tell us a bit about yourself

I’m honestly just a crazy sarcastic woman with a computer. Lol. I’ve been married to my best friend, Robert, for eight years, together thirteen. Have two dogs, one cat. The cat is currently sleeping in her heated bed in front of the heater vent. (Yeah, they’re spoiled.)

Have you always wanted to become an author?

It never occurred to me that I could until I was older but yeah. I’ve always been writing something but never finishing it. I was always coming up with stories in my head. Getting them down on paper or on the computer was always the challenge.

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

With Veil Diaries, I actually was watching a show, Dead Files. I wondered what growing up seeing the dead would be like. How it would affect a person. And the idea went from there.

What are you working on now?

At the moment, I’m working on the second book in my other series, Books of Stone. I’ve been dealing with a bit of writer’s block with this one. But we’re getting there.

Do you have any quirks while writing?

Quirks… Since I do have ADHD, my office is usually quiet with my desk facing a wall. Lol. My husband knows that if I’m working to leave me alone. Lol. When I hyperfocus on work then I get really grumpy when something interrupts me. At this point, he asks if I’m at a place where I can stop. If I can, then I stop, if I can’t I tell him I’ll come to talk to him when I finish what I’m doing. We’ve got it down to a science now. Other then something crunchy to munch on while thinking, that’s the only one I can think of. I used to sit in the chair with my legs crossed under me but I can’t do that with my new chair. (Yeah, I kinda miss it)

What are your hopes for the future?

My hopes are to honestly work hard to become a better writer, that I can make each book better than the last. And keep writing. I honestly want to write for the rest of my life. * Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world? 90% of writing is getting out of your own way. Turning off that critic in your head especially during the first draft. The rest is hard work.

Do you have anything to say to your fans?

Thank you all so much for your support! Without you guys, I wouldn’t have the courage to keep writing. You guys are the best! Seriously, on bad days I’ll go on facebook and someone will have posted a picture that reminds them of the book or someone has a new theory. It gives me the jolt I need.

Tell us a bit about yourself

I’m a thirty-eight-year-old mom of three and I live in the UK. I used to work as a nursery nurse but after having my youngest and battling post-partum I had to reassess what was important to me. Now I get to do what I love while wearing pyjamas and I couldn’t be happier.

Have you always wanted to become an author?

Yes. I have always loved to write, ever since I was a young child, I just lacked the confidence to pursue it. One day I woke up knowing with absolute clarity that I would regret it for the rest of my life if I didn’t try. So, I wrote. I laughed, I cried, and I spent hours agonising over putting myself out there, but I never gave up. It’s an amazing feeling to be able to stand up and say, “I did it.”

What was the inspiration for your current series?

The Inheritance series was inspired by a conversation I had with a friend about whether or not money could buy happiness. As a result, each of my heroines in the three-book series will have to deal with the trials and tribulations that go along with having money and this provides the story arc that connects the otherwise stand-alone books.

What are you working on now?

I am currently working on book three in the Inheritance series and two short stories for anthologies due out later this year. I also have a secret project that I’m working on that I hope to get finished for the summer.

Do you have any quirks while writing?

I either have to have complete silence or music belted out at deafening decibels. There is no in-between with me.

What are your hopes for the future?

I hope to continue writing stories that people love with characters they take to heart. I can’t imagine doing anything else and I’m so grateful that I took that leap of faith.

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

I’m still a new author myself trying to figure it all out. The best advice I can give is to just write. Write a little, write a lot but whatever you do – write. Have faith in yourself and join groups of like-minded individuals because having friends to pick you up when you stumble is priceless.

Do you have anything to say to your fans?

What can I say? Thank you doesn’t seem like enough but it’s all I’ve got. Thank you for your unwavering support. Thank you for taking a chance on a new author and thank you for making time in your busy days to leave reviews. Each and everyone of you mean the world to me.

Author Sadie Moss #interview

Please give a warm welcome to author Sadie Moss

Tell us a bit about yourself

I live in Chicago with my hubby and our beautiful, crazy puppy. (I hate winter, but the summers here are wonderful!) I’m addicted to Brooklyn 99, and I love reading, drinking craft beer, and writing. I’m a bit of a homebody, and I also have a thing for buying random kitchen gadgets I’ll probably only use once.

Have you always wanted to become an author?

Yes! I’ve been writing stories since I was a little kid. And growing up, I read everything I could get my hands on, which is what made me realize how big of an impact books can have on people. They open up our minds and souls, and let us live a million different lives!
In early 2018, I decided to pursue my dream and start publishing for real. It’s been a wild and crazy ride so far, and I’ve loved every minute of it (even the really hard ones).

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

This one came to me as the germ of an idea – just an image, really. I don’t want to say what the image was because it’d be a bit of a spoiler. But I told my husband about it, and the look on his face convinced me I had to write it.
From there, it expanded out to what will be a four book series. I looooove shifter books, and this is sort of a different take on the genre.
Ideas often hit me late at night, just as I’m drifting off to sleep, so I have a notebook next to the bed to jot them down so I don’t forget. But with this series, I find myself staying up way too late, plotting and planning new scenes and ideas.
The first book, Wolf Hunted, will release Feb 21.

What are you working on now?

I’m almost done writing Wolf Called, book two of The Laster Shifter series. Then I’ll move on to books 3 and 4. I like to write a series all in a row instead of jumping back and forth between multiple series – I get so consumed by whatever I’m working on that I sort of ‘binge write’ the same way I binge read. 🙂 I need to keep writing until I get to the end, you know? It’s hard for me to stop until the whole story is told.
That being said, I had another plot bunny attack me with its tiny little fangs a month ago, and I’ve started writing another series alongside The Last Shifter. I’m working on that one more slowly, but it’s been so much fun! It’ll be a reverse harem paranormal rom-com, and I’m sooo excited about it! I’ve been craving comedy in my life lately, and I think everybody could use a little more laughter.

Do you have any quirks while writing?

Hmm, they tend to change from book to book or series to series. For some books, I NEED music – often I’ll have one or two albums that I listen to over and over. And for other books, I can’t listen to anything while I write. I just need it to be me and my thoughts, and the sounds of the keyboard.

What are your hopes for the future?

Okay, my big big big hope? I would love it if I could earn enough to support me and my husband. He already works so hard to help and support my dream, on top of his regular job—and it would be really incredible if the two of us could work together on this full-time. He’s my best friend and can always make me laugh, so I don’t think we’d drive each other too crazy working together, lol!

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

Remember why you wanted to tell stories in the first place. Keep that close to your heart all the time. There will definitely be some ups and downs, moments where you doubt yourself and question everything, and moments where you feel on top of the world. But through it all, just remember how amazing what you’re doing is.

Do you have anything to say to your fans?

Thank you thank you thank you thank youuuuuuu!! Thank you for reading, supporting, and cheering me on in this journey so far. The first time someone messaged me saying she liked my books, I almost fell off my chair. I definitely cried. It’s one of the most amazing feelings in the world.
I’ll keep trying to write worlds and characters you can fall in love with. I love you all!

Author Blake Blessing #interview

Please give a warm welcome to author Blake Blessing

Tell us a bit about yourself

Ugh. I’m the most boring person ever. I’m a working mom, trying to raise my family and follow my dreams all from Denver, Colorado. I’ve always been addicted to reading from a young age. If I wasn’t drawing or painting, I was reading. So much so, when I was grounded, my aunt would take my books away. I remember one time, the fourth Harry Potter book had just come out. She took my book away when I was grounded for two weeks! It sat on top of the fridge taunting me lol.

I also love to laugh and hang out with my kids. And I have a penchant for chocolate milk. See, boring.

Have you always wanted to become an author?

No. I didn’t really know what I wanted to do growing up, I just knew I wanted to be good at it. Looking back over my adult life, I only held jobs for about two years before either switching to something else or getting promoted. I did do a year of art school and found myself. Then I found I needed an income and went back to work.

It wasn’t until the last year or so where I really started to entertain writing my own stories. One of my close girlfriends practically strong armed me into it because she thought I’d be good at it. So I did. I sat down and grumbled through the first two chapters, then I realized just how much fun it was. It also works really well with my limited attention span. The different plot and character ideas satisfy my need for scenery changes.

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

Ooohh… So I could talk about Mazza. Orr….. I could talk about a secret project I’m working on.

I think I’ll do that!

Going back to my art school stint, I also love a little side photography. When I was on vacation in Jackson, WY, I just minding my own business, taking pictures of the kids and the snow. And I started thinking about how photos only show people what the photographer wants them to see.

That’s it! That’s all I’m sharing. ♡

What are you working on now?

Hmm… I answered this above. But my current works I’m either working on now or planning to work on soon are Secrets of the Mazza (3), A Secret-Secret YA/NA Contemporary RH, and The first in a fantasy RH trilogy that’s connected to my short story that dropped in December.

You’ll get no other secrets from me!

Do you have any quirks while writing?

Ha! Actually there is one. It’s really strange and I don’t know why I do it. If I get distracted or lapse for a second in what to write, I type “I can’t believe”.

I don’t know what it is that I can’t believe, but that always makes its way onto the page. I just laugh at myself and delete it lol. Don’t judge me.

What are your hopes for the future?

I feel like you just asked me what I wanted to be when I grow up! LOL.

I have a big girl job I really enjoy, and I love crafting stories.

That being said, if one day I’m able to stay home and write full time, I would jump on the opportunity in a heartbeat! There’s a rush that comes with authoring, from creating something that others value and genuinely love. That’s important to me.

I wrote a book about PTSD called Full Glasses and Burju Shoes and one woman reached out to me after she read it. She told me that she has PTSD and that she had never read a story written quite like mine, and how incredibly touching it was. That right there made me legit cry.

So short story long, I’d love to author full time. ❤

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

Yes! I waited until I was about to publish before I started developing relationships because I didn’t feel legit. Don’t do that! Build relationships and a following now. It can be done and there are people that will care about what you have to say. You have to kill the doubt that strangles your self-worth (That’s totally an Avett Brothers lyric).

Do you have anything to say to your fans?

Yes! A million times yes! For my fans that love what I write and experience the emotions my characters feel as if you are living their story, you are the reason all the editing tears are worth it. And for those that encourage me and make me want to keep writing with kind words and sweet actions, thank you from the bottom of my soul. I’ve been blessed with the best circle of readers, ARCers, BETAs, and author friends. The whole damn community is pretty freaking amazing.

Tell us a bit about yourself

I was born and raised in NYC. I live in an outer borough with my husband and two daughters. I am a bibliophile, who has always had a book in hand since I was little. I have a very strong obsession with horses, and it’s my dream to meet a unicorn.

Have you always wanted to become an author?

Yes since I was little. It was something that was always a life goal for me.

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

I have dreams and then I write about them. Or when I am driving, something will pop into my head and I create stories around the idea. Sometimes my brain scares me.

What are you working on now?

I’m currently writing the second book in the Changer Series, Claiming Death. Death Card, book 1 released on February 1st.

Do you have any quirks while writing?

I need to have no one around me, and gummi bears. All the gummi bears. They are my writing fuel.

What are your hopes for the future?

My goal this year is to publish 5 books. I have two of those down, as my second book will be published on February 14th. It’s a prequel to a new series. It is titled Sinner’s Harem.

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

You need to write at the right time. It took me years to get comfortable enough to write my story. I used NaNoWriMo as the push I needed. The most important thing is don’t force it. When you force it, your story is going to get lost.

Do you have anything to say to your fans?

Holy Cannoli you guys! Since before pre-order you all have been amazing. I cannot thank you enough for the support you provide. It is truly amazing to be a part of this amazing community. All the love that you send me and the cheering you do, make this author thing so much sweeter. Thank you, Wild Ones from the bottom of my heart! Xoxo

Tell us a bit about yourself

I live in Scotland with my wolf dog and kitty! I originally published under Katze Snow and those books tend to be dark MM. I think there’s something super erotic about two hunky men getting down and dirty with each other. Throw in some taboo? I’m a goner.

I decided to step into Reverse Harem after falling in love with the genre.

Have you always wanted to become an author?

Yes! I actually remember a teacher in high school asking me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I told him an author, and he laughed at me, claiming writing was just a hobby. Take that, b*tch. 🙂 I’ve always been really creative, ever since I was around 7 years old. I’ve written stories that still to do this day shock my parents. I guess some things don’t change.

What was your inspiration for your current book?

Their Vampire Queen by Joely Sue Burkhart. This was my first reverse harem series and I loved it so much! Especially the kinky blood play. Damn, Joely. ❤

What are you working on now?

My second Rh novel, Saphyre: Enslaved by the Kings book 1. This book is DARK!! Not for those seeking rainbows and unicorns. The pre-order is actually available on Amazon now.

Do you have any quirks while writing?

I need to use my hand moisturiser before I start, then my lip balm, and a cup of coffee at my side. Otherwise, my routine get all wonky!

What are your hopes for the future?

I’d love a lucky break with my books. Just enough money to survive instead of scraping by, you know? I’d love to pay off my debts, my friend’s debts, and help support my family more. It’s the dream!

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

Please just write! Do NOT stop to edit. That will take up so much time. Remember your first draft is just that — a FIRST draft. It’s going to be messy with tons of typos and inconsistencies. You’re going to think it’s awful. But by the time it’d edited and ready to go, it’ll be like another book. Just keep going. Sit down and write. You’ll get there! Also, don’t check Goodreads. It’s where authors go to weep. 🙂

Tell us a bit about yourself

I have been happily married for almost 7 years! I’m obsessed with anything Harry Potter or Irish related. I love Sumatra K cups and go to sleep craving my morning coffee. I love rap music, reality tv, and chocolate.

°

Have you always wanted to become an author?
I have not always wanted to be an author. I found the RH genre a year ago and fell in love with it, like everyone else. I beta read for several authors and was on ARC teams for many more when I started to get the itch to write my own story.

°

°

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

Inspiration for my current WIP was a picture I came across in a fantasy art group. The chick was just badass and I immediately knew her story! So.. I started to write it!

°

°

What are you working on now?
Right now I have 4 WIPs. Feathers and Fire trilogy, a Dark PNR RH Romance, book 1 comes out this month. I have a Dark Cinderella Omegaverse type book with wolf shifters that I recently started, it is yet untitled, but will be dark RH romance as well. I am also co writing with Scarlett Snow and Katie May. Scarlett and I just submitted our book for preorder. It is dark as fuck, Fantasy RH Romance, titled Saphyre: Enslaved by the Kings book 1. It will release next month and is also a trilogy. Katie and I are writing an Fantasy RH Romance. It is an epic journey that I think our readers and really going to love. No release date or title for this series yet.

°

°

Do you have any quirks while writing?

Quirks! I guess it depends. Since my kids are all too little for school just yet, I try and squeak some writing time in when my youngest takes her nap. I call that quiet time and banish the other 2 to our huge basement playroom, (we have an 85 inch tv down there so don’t feel too bad lol) I prefer it quiet, thats really my only quirk lol

°

°

What are your hopes for the future?

Well, I hope to take on the Dark Reverse Harem world by storm, along with my Dark Romance co author, Scarlett Snow. Give those that like the dark sexy ass addicting stories, and maybe introduce some newbies to the dark side of romance so they can see how delicious it can really be. I hope that I am successful enough to continue writing 🙂

°

°

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

This Is funny since I’m still yet unpublished. My biggest advice is don’t give up. Know that your first draft will need many revisions. Don’t get discouraged when you need to delete entire chapters and write new ones. Its can be overwhelming at times but stick with it. And find your tribe who will help you through all the rough times. I have a huge group of friends who support me no matter what. I wouldn’t be where I am without them.

°

°

Do you have anything to say to your fans?

*My fans! Do I have any of those yet? If there are any out there, thank you! Those of you that take time to comment on my posts or send me a pm telling me how excited they are to read my book. You have no idea how much that means to me, especially as a new author trying to make it. You guys keep me motivated and make me want to do better and be better. Thank you for your constant support! I love you all!
