Tell us a bit about yourself

I’m a cat lady, through and through, although I will never turn down an eager-to-be-pet dog. I live with three cats and pay the mortgage of their house. If you own a cat you’ll recognize how true that statement is. I work a full time job on top of writing, as well as house sit for two families who travel often, rarely leaving me any spare time. Writing in the evenings double as kitty cuddle times, because they have to make up for it somewhere, right?

Have you always wanted to become an author?

Writing has always been a hobby of mine, but I never expected it to get this far. In school, English and Reading classes were my forte, whereas Math, Science, and History fell to the wayside. Five paragraph essays? Easy. But ask me to balance a chemical equation… Nah.

Vivid dreams have always woken me up in the middle of the night, and I’d roll over bleary eyed to take notes while half asleep. When I woke, I would expand and write more on the little scenes I was able to cram into the notes on my phone, but never truly finished any of the stories.

Finding the RH community was eye opening. I saw how down to earth these authors were, and once I recognized how accessible KDP was to the average person, I decided to put my mind to it and finally finish something I started. Three books later, and I still feel like a poser amongst all these established authors.

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

I’ve always adored anything magical and mysterious, and I have quite the attachment to witches. Pair that with my love of cats, plus a snippet of a single line I had in my head, and you have the Crystal Clear Series.

°

What are you working on now?

I just finished the Valentine’s Day stand alone, which released on the 12th of February. Next on my list is Crystal Clear Book Three, which I’m hoping to announce a release day for some time soon. As much as I adore Maya and her kitties, I’ve missed Mori and the guys and can’t wait to hear them talk to me again.

Do you have any quirks while writing?

I do this really weird thing where I rock back and forth in pace to what I’m writing. When a friend visited and we were watching a cooking show, she pointed it out to me and since that night I’ve realized I do it when I’m stuck on a word or even in a really nice sentence or scene flow. I think it helps me keep an even pace.

°

What are your hopes for the future?

I hope to finish the Crystal Clear Series and start on building a new world. I have a couple of open projects that I have not been able to focus on because Mori and her guys demand all of my attention.

Do you have anything to say to your fans?

“Fans” is such a weird word that makes me squirm. Do I have those? Lol, honestly I just love being tagged in ALL the cat videos that grace my timeline daily. It makes me so happy that I come to mind when people see a cute little kitty doing something silly. My author group is my favorite place to visit because I adore talking to every single person in there, no matter what it’s about. I can’t put into words how tickled I get when people want to talk to me. There’s an image that floats around from time to time, a cartoon about an author replying to a reader and the reaction of both sides. Something about ‘oh my gosh, they acknowledged my existence’, and the other being ‘oh my gosh, they think I’m important,’ and I can agree that’s accurate.
