Author K.A. Knight #Interview

Please give a warm welcome to authorKatie Knight°°

Tell us a bit about yourself

Erm, my names Katie and I have a problem, wait. Sorry that was the other group. *clears throat and waves awkwardly* Hi, I’m katie and I write dirty scenes. I’m 22 years old from a sleepy English village. I have a caffeine addiction and love horror films. *whispers, is that how you do it?*

Have you always wanted to become an author?

I know most people will say always but truthfully? No. I wrote a lot when I was younger but then I turned to design and film. It became my passion and I even went to university for it but I still found myself writing every now and again. It wasn’t until tragedy hit my family that I turned to writing properly, as my escape. Ever since then my passion flared up and I can’t go one day without it.

What was your inspiration for your current book/series?

I have always been obsessed with dystopian and horror. I love the world building the endless opportunities for character exploration and the darkness in it. I watched a lot of films like Mad Max, Doomsday etc and played a ridiculous amount of Fallout.°What are you working on now?Lots and lots of projects! I am always working on five projects at a time. One co-author and my other WIP. Three are secret projects, with one I am so excited about. It is dark and filled with bloodshed. I am also working on Auroras Betrayal, The Lost Coven Book Two!

Do you have any quirks while writing?

Not really, it changes everyday. I always have to have background noise though. Wether that be music or the TV. Some of my projects demand a playlist where as others I binge watch the Great British bake off!

°

What are your hopes for the future?

To become a full time author. It’s actually my goal for this year! To enjoy life as well, I’ve had some health scares this year and it’s only made me more determined to make the most of life.

°

Do you have any advice for new authors about the publishing world?

Just write. It’s the hardest and the simplest part, everything else will fall into place and if you ever get stuck this is one of the most supportive communities you will ever meet. Most of all, be yourself. Don’t write to please people, write because you can’t do anything but.

°

Do you have anything to say to your fans?

Yes! I love my fans so much, it sounds cliche but they are the reason I get up and write everyday. There support and love for my crazy drives me and I wouldn’t be here without them.
